DO NOT BOOK WITH THIS GUIDE. He didn’t show up and we wasted half our day in Fes trying to figure out what was going on. Now fighting for a refund.

The beginning of this tour was very rough. To start, I think they completely forgot about my booking. I didnt hear anything at time of pickup and I spent 10 minutes trying to find a whatsapp number I could reach out to. Once I did they let me know they were coming 1 hr later (11am instead of 10am)…they were still late and didnt arrive until 11:15.
The driving portion of the tour was a waste of time. The car was in poor condition and kept missing gears, the driver didn’t speak much English and barely shared any information about the 2 places he drove us to take pictures. Then, it was time to walk and we waited 15 minutes on the side of the road for the next guide.
The walking part of the tour was MUCH better— our guide Yousef was great! He mentioned this company contracts with his and pays him to do the tour with their guests, which is why he was great and they were not. Yousef took us throughout the while medina and was very very knowledgeable.
I wouldnt recommend booking with this company. You can likely tour directly with Yousef instead of whoever this operator is.

This tour was separated into two parts, driving and walking. We liked our driver Sammy who picked us up. He showed showed us a nice hill that we walked around on with a great view. That was nice. We drove by and did a quick stop at the blue gate, but I really wish we could have had more info on it. We were then taken to the ceramic co-op where we met “Chico” Mohamed. It started out good. He walked us through several good places though that we’re very interesting such as the community bakery and the weaving shop and tannery. He took us to all the shops that expect you to buy things in term for a demonstration. He did say that we’re not obligated to buy, but we did feel pressured. I guess there just no way around it. On the other hand, we did see some very interesting things because of the guide, so I don’t regret getting them. However, I’m not sure these two were “official” tour guides. The guides we were able to secure in Marrakech had official licenses and seemed much more professional. The walking guide “Chico” asked us if we liked the tour and when we said yes, he asked “would you like to give me something for it?” Which really put us off. We booked our tours in Marrakech with “Tours With Locals” and were able to read reviews for and select our guide, but they didn’t have Tours with Locals guides in Fes so that’s why we went with Viator. Also, I think the price here was a little high because our Riad showed us a paper that had official city regulated tour prices and they were way cheaper…like $40 per group for a tour. Overall it was ok. We wouldn’t use viator again, but it’s fine for what it was.

Great tour overall! I loved getting to see the artisans in addition to all the main sites. Started at the gate and walked throughout the old medina stopping every now and again to look at shops and stands. Got the chance to visit a beautiful old madrassa and observe the lovely exteriors of several ornate mosques. The best part of the trip however was learning about the different artisans and observing them in their craft. The guide took me to various places including carpet makers, ceramic artisans, tanners, carpenters, wood painters, and stone engravers. My tour guide, Najib, was great and super knowledgeable. Overall, I had a great time!

Sami was very kind and accommodated our booking we placed in the morning of the same day. He drove us to a few locations for us to get out for a few minutes and take pictures, then he brought us to another tour guide who walked us through all the winding streets of the Medina expertly. We got to see all the things we were hoping to see, and got chances to buy goods from a few co-ops after getting explanations of their processes and work. The people at the co-ops gave some suggestions of what to buy but did not hassle us at all. Our guide asked if we wanted lunch, and took us to a restaurant and left us to eat and rest for an hour before seeing a few more sites and then bringing us back to Sami who dropped us back off. We would take the tour again! So much good information and a wonderful experience!

Our guide was very knowledgeable about Fez and especially the Medina. He pointed out the best places to shop and the best local restaurants for authentic Fez delicacies.

Fez is a remarkable city and this tour was a great way to see it! Our guide was very knowledgeable and gave us information about the history, industry, shopping and the people. Partially by car and partially walking we were able to cover much of the city as well as the Medina. A great way to get to know the city in a day. Highly recommend!

Mahmood è stato fantastico: abbiamo fatto un bellissimo tour della medina e visto uno spaccato di vita dei suoi abitanti. Inoltre abbiamo avuto modo di entrare in alcune attività artigianali selezionate per la qualità dei loro prodotti.Che dire del buonissimo the berbero? Una scoperta continua!

El tour no era lo indicado, contraté un tour para mi solo y al final fuimos mas de 20 mas niños, el guía samir no explicó casi nada y nos enseñó muy poco, nada recomendado

Ils nous a donné toutes les explications de la ville de Fès.

È stata una giornata indimenticabile! Grazie a Mahmood e Sami che ci hanno fatto scoprire posti e visitare luoghi della Médina che mai avremmo potuto vedere se non ci fossimo affidati a loro.. persone eccezionali e che vivono la Médina di Fes tutti i giorni, che sanno ogni minimo segreto di quel labirinto composto da 9000 vie, 320 quartieri e altrettante fontane. Un luogo magico che riesci ad apprezzare solo con chi quella magia la vive ogni giorno. Grazie ancora di tutto! Un’esperienza fantastica!
