We had a great time, the food was very delicious and the hosts explained lots about the cooking.
It was just the two of us and we could both choose a dish. We did all the cooking together with the hosts, at the end only the two of us ate though (because it is Ramadan at the moment). But we did not go to the markets together.
We spent a total of three hours there and it was the best tajine (chicken with prunes) I’ve had so far.
I definitely recommend if you are interested in how they cook it etc., cause only then it is worth the money.

Our best meal of the trip was the one we made at this cooking class at Riad Hayat Fes! When we arrived, we were served mint tea and asked which of half a dozen or so main dishes we wanted to cook. Each person was able to choose what they wanted to prepare. (They were able to accommodate with a gluten-free option for one person who has celiac disease.) Imad and Hannah were great hosts and translated when Hanna's mother, the chef extraordinaire, gave instructions. We wrote down the recipes for everything we made and can't wait to try to recreate the dishes (especially maalouk and chicken tagine with prunes) at home.
One note: the description says that guests will go shopping in the market for ingredients, but that was not the case for us. The description also says that dessert is part of the meal, but no dessert was served. Not complaining -- we had spent hours in the market prior to the cooking class and we were full from the meal so didn't want dessert -- just clarifying so others don't expect this!

The perfect way to combine sampling traditional cuisine with a deep dive into the culinary, historical and social culture of Morocco. Our host Hannah, Imad and Hannah's mother were the icing on the cake for our wonderful stay in Fez. They not only taught us how to make delicious Moroccan cuisine but they also shared many interesting things about Moroccan life, culture and language. They were kind, caring and fun to be with. It was truly a wonderful experience and one that we wish to repeat in the future.

I am a ten year old kid who likes cooking but still this was amazing we did some slicing and some grilling and some seasoning. Also there was two chefs one chef did not speak English and one chef translated over all truly an amazing experience highly recommend.
Adding from the mom’s perspective: fun, informative, very lovely people that provided an excellent insight to life in Fes. Highly recommend for the whole family.
Adding from a sisters perspective, both the translator and chef seemed like truly nice people, and their guidance made the experience so much better. A perfect night, could not recommend more.

We had a great time on this cooking course, our hosts were so attentive and patient explaining the steps for each dish. They even went over all the ingredients again so we could write the recipes down once we had clean hands! We made tagine, couscous, and 2 warm salads.
We did not visit the market to buy our ingredients, but having already been to the Medina we don't feel we missed out at all by skipping this step.
I would highly recommend this experience, it was the highlight of our stay in Fez.

The hosts were lovely. They explained us everything in so much detail that we were able to take notes and try to make the recipes at home. It was amazing that we did everything, from the peeling to roasting the vegetables that we ate later.

I can't express how happy we are that we had this experience. Seriously one of the best things we did in Fez. I also feel that I can fully replicate the dishes at home. I had tried the dishes we made previously but these were by far the best we tasted. If you are looking for an authentic experience in Fez I cannot recommend this class enough.

We thoroughly enjoyed cooking with our lovely chef and our guide, who translated for her. The tagine and salads we made were delicious. It should be noted that for the 4:00 session we were not taken to the Medina for shopping as described on the website. We were disappointed as we specifically looked for a class that included this option. We were also not offered to make dessert. The class was therefore 2 hours 45 minutes including eating instead of 4 hours. The description for the class should be updated to reflect this.

Spending time in an authentic Moroccan Riad kitchen with a lovely family and mother working through the whole process of making Bread , aubergine vegetable salad and chicken Tagine.
It was a genuine Moroccan experience and a lot of fun , and a delicious final eating of the food.

Not only did we have the chance to learn about and make authentic Moroccan food, the team was amazingly kind, accommodating to my vegetarian needs, and so much fun to spend time with. Getting to communicate through language barriers in the universal language of cooking was the best! The chef and her assistant were absolutely wonderful. Our guide/translator Was so lovely too. We left feeling like the team cared for us. Would 10/10 highly recommend this!!!

My girlfriend and I attended this traditional cooking class and we were very impressed by and grateful for the hospitality of our host Ismail. We learnt how to cook chicken tagine and it turned out amazing all thanks to our teacher Merzouga. We had a wonderful time and would definitely recommend you try this cooking class so you can learn to cook your favourite Moroccan dish. The little girl called Malag was very sweet 😅

The best tajine eaten in 9 days in Morocco! Not because we cooked it but because the recipe was really good! Not to mention the initial salads, never eaten anything remotely similar! The whole experience is well organized, all the staff are super nice and helpful and make you take notes on the important steps! I'm sure I can repeat it all at home quite faithfully! The only note so: the price is high enough to be in Morocco and to have prepared dinner for ourselves. However, other providers had also offered us higher prices and, seeing the results, I can say that I would definitely do it again.
