We did this with our boys because we wanted to see the highlands but knew they would get bored and antsy on a group tour. We were able to decide our itinerary, schedule, everything. Michael was extremely knowledgeable and we learned so much along the way.

It was an incredible experience seeing the Scottish Highlands and getting to know more about Scotland. Our tour guide, Chris, was the best! And I got to see some Highland cows and tried Haggis, neeps and tatties! It was so so 😆.

What an incredible trip! Scott picked us up from our hotel and from the get go was full of character and fascinating stories to keep us enticed on our journey to Glencoe.
Unbeknownst to me, my now fiance and Scott had carefully planned the trip to ensure that we were in the most idyllic spot when he got down on one knee. This even involved the weather which I'm sure Scott meticulously planned so it just began snowing when James popped the question. We felt truly looked after and in safe hands throughout our entire trip.
Thank you Scott for your kindness, fantastic storytelling and genuine passion for your country that you shared with us. It is a trip we will never forget.

This tour was the highlight of our UK trip! Chris was very kind in accommodating our pick up from different hotels and drop off at a different location entirely. He is a gifted storyteller, sharing Scotland's history in an engaging manner. The scenery in Glen Coe was stunning and I'm not sure Chris didn't arrange the snow on our behalf. We were lucky to catch a quick visit with some wee hairy coos before they leave for their winter home! I recommend this tour to anyone who is looking for some context to their visit to Edinburgh. On 27 August 2024, my wife and I went on a private tour to Glencoe in the Scottish highlands. Our driver and tour guide was Chris and we felt really comfortable and safe with him as a driver. Chris provided us with a brilliant and extensive presentation of Scottish history whilst driving to the highlands. The presentation enabled us to have a clearer understanding of Scotland’s history and better appreciate the reasons behind the numerous upheavals in Scotland’s past. The depth of Chris’ historical knowledge was simply amazing, The information we have gained from Chris will clearly enhance our appreciation of the things we see and do during the remainder of our week in Edinburgh.
Chris is very personable and this contributed to making the day very enjoyable.
We highly recommend going on one of Chris’ private tours. The day was well worth the money.

Chris was absolutely fantastic. He told us a wealth of Scottish history and answered all our questions. He asked us our reason for our trip and was able to tell me more about my clan that I knew. This was incredible that he had so much information to share. Also, as we mentioned things, he gladly took us off the planned route for a few quick stops that added more to our experience and knowledge. The tour with Chris was the best tour my friend and I have ever experienced and we highly recommend him. When we come back, we will be booking a tour with him again!

Our driver, Chris was extremely knowledgeable and kind. He adjusted the day as the wind and rain prevented us from doing much walking around.
The drive down the road where Skyfall the James Bond movie was filmed was stunning and made even more memorable by the appearance of an Aston Martin car like 007 drives.

Excellent tour guide. I love to hear about the history of places I traveled to. The tour guide gave me a great primer on Scottish history. It helped the experience come alive. Our Highlands tour was amazing. Chris is super knowledgeable and very friendly. My daughter and I felt very safe and completely comfortable the entire time. We got up close and personal with the Highlands in his vehicle too! We stopped at a few attractions and had a chance to take all the pictures and so all the wandering we needed.
The pub lunch was delicious and reasonably priced. We had a choice of places to eat.
I learned so much history!
If you have ANY doubts about booking this day with Chris, toss them and do it!!

Right from the pick-up, we started enjoying the lively conversation and our drive with Chris. From the Scottish history of medieval times to modern history, Scottish politics, and more--we absolutely enjoyed looking at nature and getting the context of every place we visited. The Highlands have a bloody and optimistic history--both. Whiskey tasting was a bonus :) Will recommend tours with Chris to our friends and will write a more detailed review on other websites too.
