This was an amazing tour! Sean was knowledgeable, humorous, delightful, lovely. He has such a detailed knowledge of the sites and events. And he was a wonderful conversationalist about things in between. He tailored the trip for us and responded to each person’s questions and interests.

This TRIPorganiser tour was a disaster from start to finish. The main reason we booked it was to visit Doune Castle and Dunblane Cathedral — but unbelievably, we missed both.
Due to poor planning and time management by the guide, we arrived at Doune Castle after it had closed and were denied entry. No backup plan, no solution — just standing outside locked gates. Then, we found out we were also too late to visit Dunblane Cathedral. Missing one key stop is bad enough — missing both is inexcusable.
When the guide realized we were behind schedule, he began driving erratically — speeding through roads, and even texting while driving. It was reckless and made several of us feel genuinely unsafe.
To make matters worse, the guide wasn’t from Scotland and had only a very limited understanding of the local history. The commentary was shallow and added little to the experience.
This tour was a waste of time, poorly run, and dangerously executed. I cannot recommend it to anyone — and I sincerely hope the company takes steps to train its guides, prioritize customer safety, and stick to the promised itinerary.

We’re very sorry to hear that your private tour didn’t meet your expectations. Imran always begins his tours by confirming guest priorities so the day can be planned around what matters most - especially as some sites, such as Dunblane Cathedral, are optional and depend on timing. At the start of your tour, your stated interest was primarily focused on Braveheart and William Wallace, so Imran prioritised locations connected to that history. Doune Castle and Dunblane Cathedral, while lovely, are unrelated to that theme and were therefore scheduled for later in the day.
During the tour, a few detours were made at your request - including a stop at a pet store - and there was an unavoidable delay caused by emergency vehicles blocking traffic. This unfortunately led to arriving at Doune Castle only a few minutes after closing. Imran immediately made two hands-free phone calls - one to the castle to try to arrange late entry, and another to explore alternative visits. He then offered additional stops including Deanston Distillery, St Mary’s Cathedral and extra sightseeing in Edinburgh.
To clarify, Imran did not text while driving, exceed the speed limit or drive recklessly. Our vehicles are equipped with GPS trackers, and we regularly monitor and train our drivers on safety and professional conduct. Imran is a highly regarded guide, frequently requested by 5-star hotels and concierges, and educated at Stewart’s Melville - one of Edinburgh’s top private schools.
Imran was born and raised in Edinburgh, which we of course consider Scottish - though where someone is born should never matter. TRIPorganiser itself was founded by Sean (from Australia) and myself (from Germany), both of us building this company out of love for our chosen home, Scotland. Our entire team shares that same pride and passion for showcasing the country’s beauty and heritage.
As confirmed via Viator, your Doune Castle tickets will be refunded. We genuinely regret that timing challenges and differing expectations led to disappointment, as every effort was made to ensure you had a safe, engaging and memorable day in Scotland.

If you are a battle history buff, then this tour gives you lots to see. Stops at 4 monuments/castles plus the views and stories on the drive to each stop. Our tour guide Chris was delightful to visit with throughout the day (he has a wicked wit, which kept us laughing). There was a surprise bonus when we found out the final castle was the filming site for a funny little movie celebrating 50 years in 2025 (coconuts, Ni, flesh wound, 😂). This was a wonderful day; thanks, Chris!!!

I would recommend this tour 100x over. Stuart was an excellent guide who gave us a wealth of knowledge about Scotland and all the locations we went to. The weather was extremely windy on the day of our tour but Stuart's positive attitude and energy made us forget how windy it was. Next time I come to Scotland I will book a tour again because we had such a great time.

My wife and I took the Warriors & Wilderness: Braveheart Tour and were blown away by the experience. Our driver Chris was vey knowledgeable about Scotland’s history and his insights met all our expectations, and more. On top of that, he serenaded us with his kitchen bagpipes at one stop as my wife and I stared at the Scottish landscape…that was very special. Chris also provided some ideas on how to better research my family’s Scottish ancestry, which I am already utilizing. My only regret is that the experience is over. Thank you so much Chris as you truly made our trip to Scotland a trip of a lifetime.

Not only was Stuart incredibly knowledgeable, but he was so in sync with what our group was most interested in. We booked this tour, not for the Braveheart aspect as in the title, but because we felt it was the best individualized offer to see some of the Scottish countryside while visiting a few key sites with just our family/group and a guide.
We were also looking for a shorter tour than most of the ones offered online that showed 12 hours or so and headed all the way to the northern part of Scotland. That's a great feature, but not one our group wanted to do or had time for. We enjoyed being out for most of the day and then back to the city for the evening to stroll around and have dinner and such.
We absolutely adored our time with our tour guide, Chris, and had the best time hanging out with him and talking about history and current day events. He just happened to have his pipe with him on our adventure and we had the opportunity to hear him play which was beautiful! Visiting Stirling Castle was really great (our favorite), the Battle of Bannockburn to understand it's significance, and then Wallace Monument (for some cardio climbing the steps), and a quick stop at the Dunblane Cathedral, which was beautiful.
In our group we had a 17yr old Swiftie, 2 parents of said teen, and two grandparents of said teen. Not everyone in our group could climb the 264 steps to the top of the Wallace Monument, but that was optional and we are glad we did it - enjoyed it. Everyone in our group was well engaged during the whole tour, with lots of discussion with our tour guide.
We recommend this tour! Yes, this is pricier than a giant coach bus tour with 743 people you don't know, but we are so glad we made this choice for our adventures and would highly recommend to anyone else to try this option out, too. AND they pick you up and drop you off at your hotel, which was great!
Laid back - sight-seeing - interesting - historical - fun - interactive - all with a personal touch.

Certainly my favorite tour while visiting Edinburgh. Guide was extremely knowledgeable and certainly went out of his way to make sure we hit all the locations we wanted to see (mainly castles). The tour included getting admissions into historic sites (not just drive past them like most other tours), which sold us on this tour. The van was spacious and comfy and we were able to stop for a lovely lunch. Certainly happy I booked this experience.

Tour was excellent. My daughter and I learned a lot about Scottish history and had so much fun. Our guide, Stuart was wonderful. He even took us to see parts of the Highlands. I highly recommend this tour, a must do if in Edinburgh.

My husband and I booked a custom made private tour with Sean. He was very knowledgeable about the history and significance of the various castles, chapel, battlefields and cultural sites that we visited. Lots of fun to talk to as well. Sean's wife Beryl was always responsive and provided a last minute alteration to our itinerary. This was the best trip. The tour guide, Stewart was absolutely the best! He took us to see our ancestorial castle for Clan Galbraith. He gave a phenomenal discussion on the history of Scotland when we visited Stirling Castle and other sites. He also explained issues currently facing the country.
Ask for him when you book your trip.
