Tours starts from the Red telephone box and Tourist Information Police Box outside of 300 Lawnmarket. This is on the opposite side of the road to Deacon Brodies Tavern. Please be there at least 5-10 minutes early as we depart promptly at the tour time and we will not wait for latecomers.

- Vaults entrance/exit is via a 2ft stair followed by a spiral staircase and further average size mezzanine staircases inside the vaults Between the levels.
- Not recommended for children under 12 years of age.
- Children under 16 years of age must be accompanied by a Parent or Guardian
- Anyone under the influence of alcohol or drugs will be turned away.
- Alcohol and Drugs strictly forbidden on the tour.
- Filming or live streaming of the tour is strictly forbidden. You may be ejected from the tour.
- Office hours are 10am-5pm for all calls & emails
- • Some historical content may be of a distressing nature with regards but not exclusively to Torture, Hangings, Death
- • Children under 2 years of age not allowed on tour.
- The walking pace and terrain may not be suitable for those with any difficulty walking.
- We do not provide luggage storage so please make alternate arrangements.

Great tour, guide was energetic and fun.
Way too many people there was 35 in our tour. 15 would have been perfect
Was fun little walk and guide was very entertaining. You do go into the vaults and it’s small and not a lot of ventilation just fyi. Would recommend though.
Dom had a great sense of humor and was very knowledgeable on the history. The history provide lots of interesting tidbits that you won't hear on other types around Edinburgh.
This was an interesting tour. Learned many facts about Edinburgh history. The vaults were so interesting. Dom made the tour fun. Loved his story telling. Felt like I was reliving history. I am happy I went on this tour! Worth the price!
Charlie is great! This tour is very fun. If you have mobility needs, there’s about 25-30 stairs in total

I think the guide makes or breaks the experience. Our guide was ok but it was very rehearsed and not as much history as I would have liked.
Entertaining but not exactly what we expected. Host was great though and really seemed to know the history.
Louise was amazing at the tour. She was very funny and made everyone feel so welcome. She told the history of Edinburgh very well.

This haunted vault tour with the delightful Diva as our guide was absolutely fascinating. The vaults themselves and the history behind them were very interesting and Diva's sassy personality made the adventure even more fun. Highly recommend!
A very different type of tour that is essential to complement the rest of our visit of Edinburgh. Not too long but a good look at the most sombre side of Edinburgh Our family of 3 had a wonderful time.
Guide was a no show. Showed up 10 min before mtg appointment and waited 30 min. 12 of us waited there.
This experience is a lot of fun! Our guide was very animated and loves his job. That made the tour even better! James is awesome!!!!
Booked with some skepticism but thought enjoyed tour . And highly recommend. Great bit of history that you would never find. Dom did great job of telling history and dark history of area in a unique setting. Although £££ more than others it was certainly worth it
Louisa was a fantastic tour guide, making sure everyone was involved in the tour, bringing the vaults to life and telling stories to bring a chill to your bones.
Guide good telling interesting stories showing places telling about them dungeons bit smaller then i was expecting but totally it was good
This surprisingly became a highlight of our trip. We thought we were just going to get a walk around and told what things were haunted and why…. No our tour guide started with a detailed explanation of all the torture methods of the time. Led us deep into the vaults added a few jumpscares in (nothing crazy the kids in our group had a good laugh) and really immersed us into the history of the vaults. We added this tours as a last minutes something to do later in the day, but after our 7 days of travel it is still one of the most fun things we did.
Amazing! Zara was funny and had great stories to share, knew her history relevant to tour. Very entertaining.

Fun and creepy! We were definitely spooked. We did this and followed with ghost bus tours for spooky, awesome afternoon of stories.

Had such a great time on the Haunted Edinburgh Vaults Tour! Jordan was an amazing guide – really funny, friendly and easy to listen to. He made everyone feel involved, and his storytelling was brilliant. He knew loads about the history but kept it really entertaining too.
The vaults were genuinely spooky, and the mix of ghost stories and Edinburgh history made the whole tour so interesting. We’d definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Edinburgh. Thanks, Jordan, for a great night!
James was an amazing tour guide! He was very bubbly, friendly, and passionate about the tour and the history of the vaults. Give him a raise! We really enjoyed walking through the vaults and hearing the history of how they were created and their later uses. Booked this tour last minute and so glad we did.
Our tour guide, Stewart, was patient of our slow walking due to mobility and spoke very well. Stewart was quite funny, very informative and had a good aura for the suspenseful parts. I loved the information about the blue dragon Covern, I went into the stone circle, even took photos inside it, I am sure this is a coincidence but the next day had a violent migraine and lost my eye sight temporarily.
This evening tour was both fun and informative. I loved learning the history you don’t find in books.
