Depart Edinburgh by comfortable vehicle, and journey along the Firth of Forth.
Learn about Outlander, the historical time-travel TV series based on Diana Gabaldon’s stories, and hear trivia about its characters and Scotland’s history.
In the summer months, stop for photos at 16th-century Midhope Castle, used as Lallybroch Castle, and visit Blackness Castle, the 15th-century fortress that doubled as Black Jack’s headquarters.
Explore the castle (own expense), seeing why it’s called 'the ship that never sailed,’ before traveling to Linlithgow. Take a stroll around this small town or visit ruined Linlithgow Palace, the birthplace of Mary Queen of Scots, and setting of Wentworth Prison, where Jamie was imprisoned.
Continue to the village of Culross whose medieval houses perfectly illustrate 18th-century Scotland, and see Mercat Cross, used as fictional Cranesmuir.
View the Culross Palace gardens, home of Claire’s herb garden, and after refreshments (own expense) at the Biscuit Café, take photos of the Tuileries standing stones (time-dependent).
Finally, visit Falkland (the setting of Inverness) and have time to visit the palace and gardens (own expense) before a final photo stop at South Queensferry and a ride back to Edinburgh.

This was a great tour! We got to see some extraordinary castles and locations and our driver/guide, Shafiq, was very knowledgeable with history and also added a lot of humor to the trip. He made it really fun! The bus was clean & fairly comfortable & Shafiq was a great driver. I felt safe & was able to relax and have fun, so thanks! 😊 I highly recommend this tour & guide! A++

This was a great experience. Our guide, Shafiq, was very knowledgeable about the stops and the sights while traveling from one place to the next. He also shared with us a lot about Scotland’s history. We even learned a few words in Gaelic. Highly recommend this tour!

The Outlander Experience was amazing. So many castles, even Highland Coos. We had Shafiq, so much knowledge, fun, good driver, funny and so nice. Highly recommend.

Sights, castles and so much fun talk about Outlander! Very comfortable ride! However, that was not the highlight of this tour!! Marty is perhaps the one who put this tour over the top!! His quick wit and ability to make everyone laugh and smile is a gift not everyone has!! My daughter came on this tour with me having never seen Outlander and was “along for the ride” for me. She and I fully expected that she would nap between stops, see some castles and historical sites and call it a day. NOT the case! She enjoyed Marty’s tour guide antics as much as the most devoted Outlander fan! Such a fun experience!

We were supposed to meet your representative driver at the Jolley Botanist in Edinburgh Scotland on December 1, 2026. This was also the spot that we would be left off after the Outlander Tour. We were there in plenty of time at which time there was another one of your drivers there who confirmed by telephone to your company that we had arrived and were waiting to be picked up. We waited for easily an hour, tried to contact your company by phone, and failed and just taxi back to the hotel. Total charges Taxi service $35, additional hotel night $225, and Outlander Tour we did not go on $170. Please refund my loses.

We had an excellent tour guide named Shaqif. He was funny, told Scotland history stories and did impressions of Jamie. I would do this tour again with him. The one thing that could be better with the tour is Lallybrouch was only one room and that was pretty much it. The outside looks just like in the show. We also got to see highland cattle! So cute! Over all this was a 5 star tour.
We had Fergus as our guide and he was so informative and friendly. There are wonderful castle to visit and be prepared for many stairs. The tour delivered everything it promised. Still had plenty of time to look around
Shafiq was amazing! Very fun and interesting storytelling all the way through the castles. My husband and I are huge fans and seeing the sites from the show was good fun!

Don’t go if you come off of a cruise ship. They will tell you it’s ok but they won’t wait for you. They call you 22 hrs before and say they can’t refund your money because it’s past the 24 hr rule. Never again

We advise cruise passengers to book one of our dedicated shore excursions, which are specifically designed around cruise ship schedules to avoid this type of disappointment. Unfortunately, our standard tours are not suitable for cruise arrivals where disembarkation times can vary. We hope you'll consider one of our shore excursions if you visit us again.
Jamie and his Irish partner were great fun. Apart from the great name match with the tour theme, his knowledge about Oultander was amazing and interesting. The vibe from the rest of the group was also contagious. I loved it!
All of the attractions cost extra to go inside. Would have been nice if at least one of the places was included in the cost of the tour.
Perfect for Outlander fans, greatly managed schedule at every castle, warm-hearted and patient guide. During the journey, she shared interesting facts about the places we saw. The whole trip was amazing.
Fantastic trip! Gary is awesome & knowledgeable. Plays fun outlander music. The castles are a workout. But given a perfect amount of time to see them.
Wonderful tour of sights related to the Outlander Series. I haven’t watched the show, and I still enjoyed it. The sites are beautiful, and Lorna was a fabulous guide!
This tour was absolutely worth the money and the day trip to see the various sites in Scotland, including many sites where "Outlander" was filmed. Our tour guide, Gary, was so knowledgeable about every stop we visited. He was very kind and polite, very professional throughout the entire tour. Our tour gave us the freedom to roam and explore on our own, within a time limit. It was nice for my husband and I to simply visit what we wanted to visit without having to follow our tour group around. The sites were stunning; the castles, the countryside, the weather held up nicely as an added bonus. I highly recommend this tour for not only any "Outlander" fan, but anyone who has never been to Scotland before. It is absolutely worth the money and time!

LOVED this experience!! Vixi was fabulous with her knowledge on the history of the locations and how it connected to outlander or the story. She went above and beyond to make sure we all had a good time and you can tell she is also passionate about Outlander and history! With great stories shared along the way. Always appreciate a tour that feels included and informative as a solo traveler and got to meet some other fun solo travelers! And let’s be honest seeing the sites filmed in Outlander was super special!!! That show introduced Scotland to me, so I knew I had to see for myself and this tour was perfect to accomplish that! Lorna is an amazing guide - super friendly, entertaining, and a font of information about the history of the castles, as well as Scotland.
We picked this tour because we were able to see Doune and Blackness castles and Linlithgow Palace with plenty of time at each location.
Whether you are an Outlander fan or a history enthusiast, this was truly a singular experience and I recommend it highly.
