Skye was kind enough to give me an insiders tour of some truly outstanding food in Edinburgh. An unhurried meander from gem to gem with some great insights on best local bakeries, coffee, whiskey and Scottish food; this was a standout experience. Book this for the start of your trip.

This tour was great for sampling food local to Edinburgh! We literally landed, dropped bags at hotel, and headed out to explore and eat! We learned some history, tasted haggis and loved the biscuits with fresh raspberry jam with clotted cream from Mimi’s! We had a great time and walked close to 10,000 steps! We highly recommend this tour!

This was a nice way to spend the afternoon touring Edinburgh and tasting lots of food and drinks! Our guide, Skye, was great. It was a nice mix of history and tastings. I really appreciated the small group size and the pace of the tour. I attended with an injury, and was still able to keep up with the group. This was a wonderful experience and I highly recommend it!

Exceptional Food Tour - Cannot Go Wrong With Skye Class

Benjie_C, Jun 2026
I travel to abroad up to 8x a year, mostly on business. Every place I go to a food tour always kicks off a trip. Hands down this is the best food tour I ever had, if I ranked all of them over my innumerable trips over the years. An experience is memorable for only 1 of 2 reasons: it’s either an experience is terrible or exceptional like a notch above the rest. Skye Class is the name you would want to guide you. Period. Be sure to look for the ‘Original’ tour. I looks like a number of other operators are replicating his tour, including the name of the tour. There are those but then there’s Skye Class. I normally do not care to write reviews. It’s a waste of my time. If I wrote one and a lengthy one like this, it means I have been impressed and I deem it worthy of my time. I would do this tour again with my usual travel buddies when we find our way in Edinburgh in the future.

Super knowledgeable, experience and lots of information on Edinburgh which was great, good mix of entree’s and treats. Well done!

Fantastic Food Experience!

Jeff_J, Jun 2026
The tour size is set to be small and personable as possible. They would rather underbook than "go big". Ours was really small so it allowed a lot more interaction with our guide Skye. We had the opportunity to tell the tour what kind of things we liked and that also had an impact on the places selected for our tour.

Edinburgh Best Food Tour

Donald_S, May 2026
Skye gave us the best food tour of the ten we’ve taken so far. He knew and shared the history of area in detail as well as the sourcing, quality, and preparation of the six food stops on the tour. We found him considerate, thoughtful, with a good sense of humor. We highly recommend him.

Definitely recommend!

Elizabeth_G, May 2026
Our guide, Skye, did an excellent job at keeping the tour moving at a reasonable pace with tastings at six different locations. Our family of four (with two older teens) enjoyed amazing freshly made scones and tea to start, a premium whisky and gin tasting, fresh made fudge, a delightful savory haggis dish and cullen skink soup, followed by a flavorful chicken tikka masala and ended with gelato. Skye walked backwards almost the whole time including down stairs which was entertaining in itself! He shared historical and cultural insights all along the route as well as in depth culinary knowledge of the foods we consumed and their origins. Good portions, high quality dishes, not tourist traps…definitely recommend! Would not recommend for families with younger children.

Best food tour at local restaurants with Nichola!

Sharon_S, May 2026
Fabulous food tour! We sampled award winning scones, sampled whisky and gin, had traditional Scottish dishes of Cullen Skink and haggis, tatties and neeps. Our tour guide, Nichola took us to local, family owned restaurants and pubs. She mixed in history of Scotland and stories of Edinburgh’s growth. We learned about Scottish curry dishes and tasted Chicken Tikki. Our tour finished with gelato. This is the food tour to book for an informative, fun afternoon with Nichola. Enjoy the locally sourced foods served in family run businesses.

Fabulous food tour!

Erica_B, May 2026
A wonderful opportunity to see Old Town, New Town and other little known nooks and crannies, walking and tasting, thru the lens of an authentic Scottish food tour. We enjoyed learning from Nichola very much. A pro-tip: take layers of clothing including a rain-proof layer!

Good food tour, lots of variety!

Deonna_c, May 2026
Great tour of the Edinburgh food and pup scene with a good mixture of history sprinkled in. Great for the first two days here to get bearings and insider info to avoid tourist spots. We had Nicola, a native Scot, who was lovely. Highly recommend this tour!

Nichola was great!!

Lori_C, May 2026
Nichola was fantastic! A lovely, fun Lady and expert guide, she took our small group through the streets of Old and New Town sampling some of the best premium foods and drinks Edinburgh has to offer. A thoroughly enjoyable 4 hour tour. Highly recommend!!!

Good food and the tour...

Good food and the tour provided a good deal of information about Edinburgh. Nichola, the guide was friendly and very knowledgeable. I would definitely tour with her again.

Excellent food tour

Jennifer_R, May 2026
Our tour was fantastic! We learned so much about Scottish food and culture and history on this tour. Every food choice was thoughtfully chosen and was delicious. Our guide Nichola was so knowledgeable and passionate about teaching us about Scottish food and culture. Would highly recommend!

Great small group tasting tour

Kathleen_G, Apr 2026
Yesterday we went on a wonderful small group food tasting tour including 1 whiskey & gin. (Did not know gin could taste so good) Beginning in old Town, our guide Nichola, took us to small family owned restaurants with locally sourced products. The authentic Scottish cuisine was delicious! I was surprised to find I liked the haggis & there was a good variety of food. Nichola was fun and very knowledgeable about the food and shared interesting stories about the places we passed on our walk. There was one other delightful couple with us giving us the opportunity to ask our many questions & learn about the area. Nichola set a relaxed pace, and we were able to enjoy being in less crowded areas. This tour was a great way to also familiarize yourself with Edinburgh.

Enjoyable Walking Food Tour

GlynStanley_E, Apr 2026
An enjoyable, long food tour mostly through new town Edinburgh. 5 stops which include a whisky and gin tasting, haggis and curry! Our guide Nichola was super chatty, fun and easy to get along with. Just 4 guests in total which made for an excellent experience as we heard everything Nichola said. Our tour lasted 5+ hours but the time flew along

amazing premium food tour in Edinburgh

Grant_P, Apr 2026
this is an absolute amazing and wonderful trip with sky, who took us to places way off the beaten path. The food and drinks were wonderful, and we highly recommend Skype in this company for an above average food tour in Edinburgh.

Perfect way to experience Edinburgh.

The BEST food tour!

Jessica_B, Apr 2026
Skye was a great tour guide! All of the food was incredible and family owned places. If you’re going to do a food tour, this one should be the one you pick. It felt like a locals guide to the best food not just the most viral spots with half decent food. My guide not only had recommendations for other tours/sites but knew a lot about the history of Edinburgh and explained the stories behind certain buildings as we walked along. 10/10

Lovely foody afternoon

Santa_E, Mar 2026
We had a lovely afternoon strolling through Edinburgh and tasting the local food. From a long time ago and from not so long ago. Plus, the whisky, of course. We ventured into the new town, which was a first for me. A great way to spend a few hours in Edinburgh.

Exceptional experience. Highly recommend!

Chantell_M, Mar 2026
This was a phenomenal experience! Skye was an excellent tour guide — very personable and SO KNOWLEDGEABLE about food and Scotland. He customized our tour to exactly what we wanted to explore and offered an outstanding experience. The food was delicious, a great mix of coffee, pastry, scotch, larger savory dishes and gelato to finish off! We really enjoyed the experience and the recommendations he gave us for the rest of the tour. Highly recommend this tour!

A Truly Tailored Food Tour and Home to Solo Travelers

Erica_P, Jan 2026
This was hands-down one of the best food tours I’ve ever done and a huge part of that was our phenomenal guide Skye. As a solo traveler, one of the most frustrating things is having tours canceled because there “aren’t enough people.” That never happened here. From the start, I felt welcomed, valued, and genuinely looked after...not just slotted into a group. What made this tour exceptional is that it didn’t just take us to popular spots, he took us to true masters of their craft. Every stop was chosen with care and purpose. As we walked through Edinburgh’s streets, we weren’t just eating... we were learning the history of the neighborhoods, the stories behind the food, and even how to spot authentic local shops versus tourist-grade, overseas-made products. That alone made the experience feel deeper and more meaningful. And the food… outstanding. Every dish came with rich stories, history, and context that made it taste even better. You could feel how much pride and knowledge went into every recommendation. The tour is called tailored, and yes, it truly was. At one point, he casually mentioned another shop that wasn’t even on the itinerary. I was quietly thinking about how I might sneak back later to try it… and somehow he picked up on my excitement and made it our next stop. That level of attentiveness was incredible. This tour felt personal, thoughtful, and full of genuine care. Not rushed, not scripted, and never generic. I cannot recommend this enough for any food lover (so basically everyone), and especially for solo travelers looking for an experience that actually feels human, warm, and memorable. If you’re in Edinburgh, book this. You won’t regret it.

Skye did an amazing job providing us with an overview of the city and all the best bites in the city! He even had the ability to change some stops based on our interests! Truly personalized! Best scone I’ve ever had at a little local gem! Fantastic day!
