This was the best food and drink tour. Well worth the price and the 3.5 hours spent on this tour with Nichola Craig. She gave us the culinary history of Scotland as we visited at least five eating and drink spots. We ate their famous Cullen Skink chowder (fish and potato chowder), Haggis, neeps and mash tatties, dessert, whisky tastings, and scones & tea. It was a wonderful experience.

The food tour was great! Come hungry because there is plenty to eat! We got to try traditional Scottish dishes…all were delicious! Carlos was a wonderful tour guide, very knowledgeable and funny. We learned some Edinburgh history and folklore along the way.

Craig was a great guide - entertaining, informative, and helpful. We enjoyed learning the food history and etymology of phrases from Scotland. Lots of fun! We were full by the end. The only addition I'd make is perhaps one more (small) dish of a savory variety.

Keenan_M, Oct 2025
A fantastic combination of Edinburgh history combined with some absolutely incredible food! Craig M.was a great guide and regaled us with countless stories of the history of the city. The food was awesome (haggis is good?!) and even though our group was larger than expected given the 11:30 guides sudden sickness, the vibes were immaculate and the whole group had a great time. What a wonderful way to experience Edinburgh.

Rodney_F, Oct 2025

All the food was very...

Ann_L, Sep 2025
All the food was very tasty. Started with the cullen skink . A very hardy, flavorful soup. The haggis was well prepared, similar to a shepard's pie without crust. The Chranacan was delicious, was prepared like an ice cream. Tried 2 whiskey that were both good. Finish with scones at a bakery. They were just ok. More like a biscuit than a scones. Not enjoyable after whiskey. Overall a nice experience. Several dishes were shared and still, portions were just way too large.

Response from Host, Sep 2025

Hi Ann, thank you for sharing your thoughts on our Edinburgh tour. We're pleased you enjoyed trying traditional dishes and the whisky tasting. Many guests love the variety, and your feedback on portion sizes and the scones is valuable as we aim to balance the experience. We're glad it was overall a nice day out, and we’d love to welcome you on another of our food tours in the future!

We walked to Old Town, The Royal Mile, and to the edge of New Town - down by the train station. Each stop was filled with great food and/or drink and interesting stories and/or historical information. Our guide, Craig, was a kick! Knowledgeable and made a point of starting fun conversations.
