This tour was the highlight of our time in Dublin. Our guide Sean, a local trad Irish musician, is deeply rooted in the traditional music of Ireland and the affects its had on many forms of American music. The pubs he took us too and the musicians we watched are the definition of authentic. No cheap touristy nonsense here. Just authentic Jigs and Reels (he’ll explain the difference) played by real local musicians who gather to preserve and celebrate their gift to the world. Extra points: we had a member of our group with mobility issues and he was attentive and accommodating allowing them to have a full experience. If you love music of any genre or style this is an absolute must for you.
Neal (but spelled the Gaelic way) has such a contagious love of Traditional Irish Music that we couldn’t help but come away with a deep
appreciation ourselves. In addition to being a fantastic storyteller and engaging teacher, Neal has an amazing gift for creating camaraderie among the tour group which immensely adds to the fun! Highly, highly recommend!
This is a Traditional Irish Music Tour and this is truly what was provided to us. We went to 3 Pubs and all of them were fantastic. Kieron the Tour Guide was wonderful and provided tremendous insight into traditional Irish Music but also into why traditional music has such a hold in Ireland. There is some walking involved but not a lot and we loved walking from pub to pub. The people on the tou with us were also wonderful. A must do in Dublin.
So much fun and so informative. David was the perfect guide! Met wonderful folks from other parts of the world and it thoroughly enhanced our Dublin experience.

Fantastic experience with Ciaran. He is very knowledgeable about Irish music history and its redevelopment after the English Suppression of last century. We had a very enjoyable experience with the different musicians sessions in 3 different bars. We recommend Ciaran for your Irish bar music tour.
Fun and informative evening. Our tour guide, David, was highly knowledgeable about Irish music, history and local culture. He fostered a sense of community for our group. His love for Ireland and for all genre of music was evident and added to our enjoyment. Highly recommend the tour and David as tour guide.
This was so much fun. I LOVED that we covered a ton of ground and saw several different spaces in town. Be ready to walk with David, this isn't a pop in/pop out type of walk, it is genuinely led and designed.
David has a personal touch because of his active involvement in music. Also, because I am 20 years older, it was fun to connect through music. Because he has been immersed in trad for his entire life, he was able to knowledgeably explain the culture, history, character and passion of trad and the pubs we visited and why they came to be.
We were not in the Temple Bar area, so being introduced to spaces counter to what many have come to know as Dublin, was a great experience for my first time and I did visit one of the spaces again.
I am not listing them, because I believe in honoring their traditions and I think there is value in a guide rather than just saying we went to X, X and X for others to visit. A guide is valuable for so many reasons. Do it!

It was pouring rain that night. We only went to 2 pubs. David was a really good guide and it was a lot of fun. We listened to really good music.
Naill was an incredible tour guide. Very knowledgeable and did a great job leading our tour. Him singing and playing guitar at the final pub was the highlight of the tour.
Ciaron was fantastic! Super knowledgeable about all genres of music and took us to fabulous pubs! He even broke out into a ballad for us with some of the musicians. Highly recommend! Great trad music.
Ciarán was an enthusiastic and informative guide! Not sure this is the must-do tour everyone makes it out to be for the price... I'd read less enthusiastic reviews and make sure it's your cup of tea, but if you have the time for it, like half-pints of Guinness, and really want to hear some trad music with someone knowledgeable who can answer questions, I say go for it!
Neil was a fantastic storyteller, and very knowledgeable about Dublin‘s music and Pub scene! We had a great time and we highly recommend this to anyone that loves music.

Loads of fun! Our guide, David, was very friendly and welcoming to all on the tour. Lots of interesting info about traditional Irish music, as well as current music and the local pub scene. The musicians were top notch at the pubs we visited; wonderful experience!

This was so fun! The musicians were wonderful and I feel as though I got a real taste of Irish pub culture. As well as some delicious beer.
The guys that run this trad music tour are musicians and have great insights. It was very fun. All eight in our group really enjoyed going to Pubs with Neil and David.
Neil and David were FANTASTIC guides! Our trip through the pubs was informative and full of great fun! Seeing and hearing the Trad culture in Dublin was such a pleasure. David and Neil knew the best way to approach learning and listening to this fascinating form of music. hearing about David growing up with the music and returning to it was an added pleasure. Talking to Neil about the music and life's journey was an honor. We even got a treat with David singing with one of the groups in the first pub we went to. I would highly recommend this wonderful evening to any and all that love music, enjoy the passion of the guides, and want to get a lesson in Irish history. Thank you both for a wonderful evening!

This was a fun tour that teaches as much as it entertains. So cool to witness true trad sessions as artists collaborate each with their own gift and mastered skills. Like watching a painting being created before your eyes and ears. The pubs had historic relevance and great atmosphere for enjoying a pint of something good. Shaun was a fun and knowledgeable host who gave us a real inside look as a musician himself. Great tour just outside Temple Bar and somehow felt like we were in the heart of Ireland. This tour is a MUST.
Great evening of traditional Irish music in “Real” Irish pubs. Niall did a wonderful job of setting the stage and making sure everyone in the group got the most from the experience. Highly recommend!
This was a great way to spend an evening in Dublin. Niall and David were great guides and a lot of fun. I really appreciated the different pubs we visited on this tour and the music was great. My partner and I stayed in the last one until it closed. I cannot recommend this tour enough.
There is a lot of walking, so definitely wear comfortable shoes. Because the tour ends in a different place than it starts, you may want to be sure that you have planned for getting back to wherever you are staying or where you left your car (if you drove). If you don't drink, there are some non-alcoholic options, but not a huge variety.
This was so much fun!!! Neil did a great job giving us information us about trad and leading us around to some local pubs (outside of City Center) to hear it!! I’d recommend this to everyone visiting Dublin!
This tour was from a local’s perspective. The value comes as most uninitiated tourists would never uncover. The guide planned three stops with great traditional Irish music. A great tour!
We spent almost 3 weeks in Europe and this tour was probably our favorite. Sean was knowledgeable and engaging when discussing the history of trad music and we couldn’t imagine taking the tour with anyone else. We felt like we were not led into tourist traps but actual pubs with people who just want to sit and play. This will be a core memory from our honeymoon!
Sean was an absolute gem! Great historical perspective about traditional Irish music and how it relates to Irish culture and pride of place both musically and globally. Recommend doing at beginning of a Dublin/Irish trip to get you in the proper spirit of the experience 🇨🇮
