Rock of Cashel, Cahir & Blarney: A Perfect Day Trip 🏰🇮🇪

We had a fantastic day exploring three of Ireland’s iconic castles in one tour: the Rock of Cashel, Cahir Castle, and Blarney Castle. The Rock of Cashel was self-guided, allowing us to explore at our own pace and take in the incredible history and views. Cahir Castle was a highlight of the day. We received a short guided tour, and it was fascinating to see how well-preserved the castle remains. The guide did an excellent job bringing its history to life. Blarney Castle was the final stop, and it’s definitely more of an adventure than I expected! Getting to the famous Blarney Stone involves a bit of a climb, and the actual experience of kissing the stone was nothing like I imagined. Let’s just say it takes a little courage and flexibility! Still, it was a memorable experience and well worth doing. All three castles were unique, beautiful, and absolutely worth visiting. A special shoutout to our tour guide, Richard. He was hands-down the best guide we had during our time in Ireland. His knowledge, storytelling, and sense of humor made the day even more enjoyable. He shared fascinating stories from his years of experience and kept the trip engaging from start to finish. One piece of advice: if Richard tells you what time to be back at the bus, listen! Be at least five minutes early. He runs a tight ship, and that’s one of the reasons the tour runs so smoothly. Highly recommend this tour to anyone wanting to experience some of Ireland’s most impressive castles in a single day!

Perfect tour outside of Dublin!

This was a fantastic taste of 3 unique places outside of Dublin making for and excellent day trip out of the city! There was Kilkenny, a lively medieval town, Gledalough in the mountains where you can take a beautiful short hike and visit monastic ruins of St, Kevin. At the end, you visit a very entertaining opportunity to a sheep farm and watch a sheep dog round up. At the end we got to hold a little lamb if we wanted to. So much fun and a perfect balance of activities. It was a perfect day, and our guide, Paul, was very informative. Excellent and don't miss! A full day but not too long. Thank you Wild Rover. If you haven’t been to the city of Dublin, I would recommend the Big Bus Hop on Hop off. We didn’t waste any time trying to figure out the city bus schedules. We just bought a one day pass. We grabbed the bus right outside of our hotel Stop One. Rode the bus around the whole city once, so we could get our bearings and then road around and hopped on and hopped off at the sites we wanted to see. Very easy to use, convenient. Most of the hotels carry the Big Bus maps. Ran on time! No issues, fair price for a great ride!
