John is a friendly, knowledgeable gentleman. It is a bit of walking, and John will show you sites that you can go back to later. He's got a warm and friendly personality and knowledge of hidden gems. He was very kind about taking our pictures. We had five in our tour age 60+

Pat!
Pat was very informative, we learned so much about the history of Kilkenny. We were dead tired from our overnight flight in, but Pat kept us moving and gave us a great perspective! Also, he’s pretty well known about town- it’s clear he’s a well liked guy!

A tour for all ages
This is a lovely walking tour giving you a chance to understand the history of Kilkenny. Didn't know that a witch trial occurred hundreds of years before Salem. Loved learning about the buildings on the walk, hundreds of years old.
Our guide, Belle, was fabulous, informative and made the time fly by.
Had two 11 year old grandsons who also really loved the tour. They are talking about it hours after. Go and enjoy the walk.

Best experience in Kilkenny!
This tour made our trip! We were a very small group (just our family) but the guide made the tour so wonderful! We had such a better appreciation of Kilkenny and Ireland’s history in general. We appreciated the “ghost/spooky” focus here and there but it was never cheesy. She provided wonderful historically accurate info and a context for it all. Very meaningful experience the best tour we did on our 21 day trip.

Do this experience! Just do it!!!
We had an absolutely fantastic time learning hurling with Michael! From the moment we arrived, he made every part of the hour and a half enjoyable and created a fun, welcoming atmosphere for everyone, regardless of experience or ability.
Michael did an incredible job tailoring the session so everyone could participate and feel successful. The drills and activities were easy to follow while still giving us a real appreciation for the skill and speed involved in hurling. Even though I wasn’t very good at it (while everyone else in my group seemed to pick it up quickly, I never felt discouraged. Michael was patient, encouraging, and somehow managed to make me feel confident despite my lack of talent. That says a lot about what a great coach he is.
We also learned so much about the history, rules, and culture of hurling, which made the experience even more meaningful. My husband enjoyed it so much that we’ve already started looking for hurling clubs back home.
This experience was an excellent value, the location was easy to find, and it’s only a few minutes from many of Kilkenny’s top attractions, making it a perfect addition to a day of sightseeing.
I would highly recommend this experience to anyone and everyone visiting Kilkenny. Whether you’re athletic or have never picked up a hurley before, Michael will make sure you have an unforgettable time.

Good Tour of Kilkenny!
John gave us a good tour of Kilkenny and its extensive history, including kilkenny castle, the church (we even climbed the round tour), the black abbey, Carnegie library (he built over 80 libraries in Ireland), the river, old city walls, witch trial in Kilkenny, Oliver Cromwell, hurling, restaurant recommendations, and much more. He knows his stuff! Good overview of Kilkenny to get your bearings to this lovely city.

The tour guide was...
The tour guide was informative and entertaining. The walk starts at the castle and takes you to several stops along the way. The tour loops back on itself some and ends somewhere in the middle of the distance, which prevents having to walk all the way back to the starting at the end of a long tour. This tour made the trip the day in Kilkenny worth it.

Museum tour
We had a great tour of the medieval mile museum. It was a great way to learn about the deep history of Kilkenny, which is still being discovered! The museum is beautiful and the artifacts inside are so fascinating.
We showed up late to our tour and were still accommodated with kindness and just as much effort as if we were on time!
