Overview

If you're looking for an otherworldly experience, a visit to Isla Cabritos National Park is a must. Situated in the Independencia region, the park is home to the stunning Lake Enriquillo. Despite the lack of rainfall in the area, the park is teeming with wildlife, including birds, crocodiles, scorpions, and iguanas. Visitors can take a boat ride on the lake to get up close and personal with the American crocodiles that call it home. Or, for a truly unique experience, explore the Taino cave "Las Caritas." And don't forget to take a dip in one of the natural sulfur water pools!

The levels of this salty below sea level lake vary with rainfall and evaporaton. Currently a forest previously drowned is appearing like skeletons of dinosaurs from the waters of the eastern side. Birdlife in profusion this is a natural spectacle

Wir waren wieder mit dem gleichen Team unterwegs wie vor zwei Tagen, Giovani und Pablo, wir konnten die Abholzeit selber bestimmen. Der Tag ist immer gut organisiert, alles klappt, das Boot ist vor Ort etc. Das Restaurant fürs Mittagessen war gut gewählt, wir haben ausgezeichnet gegessen. Diese Tour ist nur zu empfehlen.

Sehr empfehlenswerter Ausflug abseits der touristischen Pfade.
