We went to Palccoyo Mountain with Urbano and Yom and had one of the greatest experiences. They picked us up early and brought us to a breakfast buffet. Then we headed to the mountain where we took our time hiking and taking in the beautiful scenery. Urbano pointed out all the best spots for pictures and acted as our personal photographer. After our hike we went to a lunch buffet and then returned to our hotel. It was a beautiful trip and we’re so glad we booked with Vidal Expeditions. Would highly recommend.

Lovely tour - arrived early in the morning to beat some of the crowds. Our guide and driver were awesome! Must do activity when in Cusco, it’s the most beautiful place.

Misleading description

This tour is very clearly advertised as a private tour as says "On this private tour from Cusco, see the colorful strata after a moderately difficult hike." When I got to Cusco the tour company called at night to let me know this was not a private tour and I had to pay extra if I wanted a private tour. When I complained they said that's how viator had set it up. I have complained to Viator twice and have asked them to correct the mistake on their page and still no change. They did however provide a partial refund. Since there was not time to book another tour we took it, but were not happy with it not being a private tour. I will leave this for a couple of more weeks and if their page is not corrected I will report this to FTC. Viator has been a good company to me and I have booked may tours with them, but if they have blatant mistake and refuse to fix it after being warned twice then they will have to answer to FTC. At any rate, BEFORE BOOKING THIS TRIP CALL THEM TO ENSURE IT IS A PRIVATE TOUR, NOT A GROUP ONE.

Regrettably, we did not call or sent any message to explain that this is a private or group tour, what we only got was a text about what you need to bring for this tour. All our guides are allowed to explain any cost of our different tours during the trip, Keep in mind for a private tour the price is different due to cover al the expenses, guide, transportation, entrance fees, meals. Unfortunately, Viator makes a mistake by putting this tour as a private tour, but that is the third party, and it is not in our hands. Vidal Expeditions, as a local tour operator, always looks after every customer who comes with us, and we do what we offer. We are truly sorry to hear about the aspects of your booking that did not meet your expectations. We have already contacted Viator to fix that mistake in their program. We would love an opportunity to make things right and hope you might consider giving us another chance in the future to provide you with the exceptional experience you expected during our different tours in Cusco. Must Do Hike!

Chino was the best guide! We had a group of 5 and he was so encouraging and kind. While the initial part of the journey would be totally unremarkable at a lower altitude, we really appreciated the frequent stops and Chino checking in with how we were feeling. He also gave great advice for taking deep breaths and had other tricks to help us deal with the altitude. And once we made it to the top, he was endlessly patient with waiting for the clouds to pass through. And he was the best photographer EVER! I remember seeing many, many tour companies offering this hike, and I am so glad I picked this one!

We had a great experience on this excursion. The restaurant for breakfast and lunch was great, and the rainbow mountain and surrounding area was beautiful. Our tour guide, Chino, was excellent as well. He was very knowledgeable not only of the site we were touring but Peru in general, which was appreciated.

The views were spectacular, definitely worth the hike. Our guide from Vidal Expeditions was fantastic. I highly recommend them. Make sure to spend a day or two in Cusco before this trek.
