NOT a comfortable tour

BE WARNED: THIS IS NOT A COMFORTABLE EXPERIENCE You will have an incredible guide (ours, Cyril, was an absolute legend and could spot a tiny animal a hundred yards away in the dark) and you will go to places most people will never see. But you will be wet, exhausted, bug-bitten. Your accomodation is basic as hell, and the tour does NOT do a good job of telling you what to bring (the camps don't have things like towels, or soap, or any form of booze). You will frequently be trekking through deep mud. The tour provides rubber boots...but you'll need socks, and since you'll be hiking through knee deep rivers, your feet and those socks will be constantly wet. It is an amazing tour, but my god, you need to be aware of what you're getting into. And you have to expect the unexpected: on our way to the jungle, the road had washed out, which meant that we had to hike across a kilometer of uneven, muddy rocks, carrying all our food and supplies. There was no way around it: if we didn't do this, we wouldn't be able to go on the tour. And fairness to the organizers, this isn't something you can predict. But again: you have to be aware that you are going to be uncomfortable. Way more than you expect. You will have a terrific time, but definitely consider this before booking.

The trip was very nice - a lot of travel time but to be expected on such a short amount of time. The food was good - very accommodating for vegans and vegetarians. Saw lots of animals, insects, plants, etc. The lodges were above my expectations for being in the jungle. Thanks to Yajahira, who was a lovely tour guide.

It was a very interesting trip. Our guide, Hans, was extremely knowledgeable about the jungle. Modesto was a great cook. Louis, our other guide, always in a good mood. We walked in the jungle, swam in the river, saw wild animals. Highly recommended!
