Amazing trip!

Cara_W, Apr 2026
We had a fantastic trip with Roger as our trek leader. He was very encouraging, knowledgeable, and fun. He made sure we knew what to expect each day and how to be best prepared for the challenge of the trek. The food prepared by our chef, Leandro, was amazing! There were always multiple options, and it tasted so good. Nothing you would expect to be eating on a hiking trip! We were so impressed and very well fed! Roger has a lot of knowledge about Inca history, and we learned so much about the Inca people. His stories and explanations led up to the morning we spent exploring Machu Picchu, where he helped us understand so much more about Machu Picchu and the surrounding areas. The porters were incredible. They are attentive, proactive, and really take care of the group! I highly recommend TreXperience!!!

Life-Changing Family Experience - challenging, grueling, rewarding and reinforcing family bonding!

Stephen_G, Dec 2025
1. Guides Grobber and Pepe were amazing ... Grobber's English was exceptional and his understanding of the Inca history, culture, trek, and Machu Picchu were amazing - he genuinely wanted to share with all of us (he was from a village along the trek and was VERY proud of his family's role). Pepe - was an amazing complement - his English was good but not as strong ... but he made up for this with his trail navigation ... Our twin boys ran/speed walked up front with pepe with endless stories and challenges ... while mom and dad (61) hung near the back happy to complete each day's mileage. 2. Equipment - Sleeping tents, private bathroom, dining tent, kitchen equipment, walking poles (and if needed sleeping bags and air mattresses were high quality) - we had lots of rain on the last night and had NO water in the tent ... I was a boy scout leader for years with lots of camping - I was impressed. 3. Food - blown away impressive ... I served in the US Army for 30 years ... was a boy scout leader for 10+ years, and have now taken some very engaging adventurous trips (white water rafting in Patagonia, Chile, and Northern Canada) and the food they prepared on two propane burbers with pots/pans they carry on their backs was amazing ... we had chicken and rice dishes, beef and quinoa dishes, cakes for dessert - suffice to say there was an excessive variety and amazing flavor - no one went hungry and everyone bragged about the quality 4. Water - available at every Meal to refill bladders or Nalgene's - never an issue - most came from mountain springs. 5. Porters - we had 13 Trekkers and 23 support (2 guides, 2 chefs, 1 waiter, one head porter and 17 actual porters (the individuals that carried everything) ... they were amazing ... always beat us to the next location and had tents set up waiting for us ... water available, tea and snacks for an appetizer, and then an hour later dinner ready for all. 6. 4-days of trekking ... d Day 1 relatively flat (shakeout) - 10K (6.2M) ... traveling along the river to start passing through villages and neighborhoods [first night we slept in a great location with a store and wifi available for a small price $3.30). Day 2 - this was 12K and included a VERY challenging climb through Dead Woman's pass (13,843 feet) - followed by a down hill to the camp for the night. Day 3 - 90 minute uphill again and then rolling up and down - this was 16K (~10M) ... to the final campsite Day 4 - 6K total with a climb to the sungate ... and then descent into Machu Picchu) - the view was amazing ... surreal looking down on that level of history after having walked the Inca trail for 4 days. The closeout was a bus ride down the mountain, a lunch in the nearby town, train ride to our shuttle pick up point, and a shuttle back to Cusco ... Bottom Line: it was grueling & challenging - but amazingly rewarding! You must be in reasonable shape ... Altitude sickness medication is recommended (my family of 4 all took it ... ) - but you'll come away with a feeling of accomplishment that will leave you looking for the next grand adventure!

Amazing experience, with some feedback for improvement.

Mark_B, Aug 2025
The hike is amazing, the guide was very knowledgeable and passionate about sharing his knowledge of the Incan culture. The porters always had everything set up before we got to camp, the food was plentiful and camps were always comfortable. What's keeping this from being a 5-star review is the tail guide didn't speak English, quite a few in our group had issues digesting the food (and the guide was quick to blame other things), the guides had difficulty pacing a group of our size, and sometimes our guide's passion for sharing stories became hour-long story sessions. This meant we spent more time sitting and listening than exploring the ruins.

Highly recommend!

laura_j, Aug 2025
Fantastic experience! Everything was taken care of so all we had to think about was enjoying the unforgetable hike.

Beyond words. The most...

Nicholas_S, Jul 2025
Beyond words. The most challenging thing physically/ mentally I have ever done. It was also the most rewarding thing I have ever done. Everything by this company was executed flawlessly down to the little details. Everyone was kind, informed, experienced, and personable. HUGE shoutout to our wonderful guides: Abelardo, Lourdes and Beltran. This trip wouldn’t be the same without these people. I would recommend this experience to anyone.

Machu Picchu trek

Jonathan_S, Jun 2025
Organisation was outstanding from start to finish. TreXerience guides Eddie “Puma” and Gilbert were very knowledgable and enthusiastic. The Chef, Julio and his team catered to such a high standard in these situations he’s more of a magician than a chef.

Amazing!

CHU_C, May 2025
Amazing experience. It was very well organized from the beginning till the end. Our guides Jose and Peppe were very caring and kept the group safe throughout, and they kept the team high spirited. The hiking, camping, and food - led by Jose and Peppe, with the brilliant support crew of porters and chefs - all top notch!! Would recommend this hike.

Machu Picchu 4 day Inca Trail

Christopher_P, Jan 2025
The porters, food, and tour guide were amazing! All of the logistics of the trip went smoothly and would definitely recommend this trip to a friend.

Lifetime experience!

Yue_W, Oct 2024
Amazing guides, porters, chef, and travel companies from all over the world. This is truly a lifetime experience.

Tough and equally rewarding.

Ingemar_H, Sep 2024
Perfectly arranged hike of 4 days in the mountains. Breathtaking views, incredible guides and porters plus fantastic food along the way. Both very tough and rewarding.

A bucket list trip to cherish forever

Roman_G, Aug 2024
This was truly one of those life-changing trips. I went with my son (17). Other parties in our group had kids as well. My son and I struggled with the altitude, but the Trxperience team guiding us got us through. They were amazing. The guides (William & Sebastian), chefs, and porters...all of them. Someone was always there with encouragement or a snack. When my son was really struggling near the summit of the 14k peak, one of our guides carried his bag for him the last 200 yards. I want to come back with my other son when he's older.

Once in a lifetime experience

Jackie_R, Aug 2024
Johny, Elias and Sergio were beyond amazing tour guides. If I ever needed to slow down and catch my breath Sergio was there. Johny was always positive and provided great information each day. Elias went above and beyond by helping me when I was sick and turning back. I will be forever grateful. Elias is an assistant guide at the moment but is certainly ready to progress to the main guide role. The tour was well organised, had amazing meals, comfortable tent set ups and was an overall memorable experience. Give up on proper toilets, showers and sleeping in… but gain friendships, strength and a once in a lifetime experience. Bring good hiking boots, hire the poles, extra air mattress and sleeping bag. Bring different layers as the weather changes fast.

Magnificent Trek Into The Inca Empire

Gerald_S, Jul 2024
Challenging but excellent hike. Guides were truly professional, knowledgeable, and very helpful. Food and accommodations were amazing as were the porters. Reaching Dead Woman’s pass and the Sun Gate with my two sons were highlights for me.

Worth the trek

Thomas_W, Apr 2024
What an incredible experience. TreXperience did an amazing job guiding and hosting our group through 4 days on the Inca Trail. The food was excellent and abundant and the porters went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed. The true highlight was our guide Amadeo. Usually I have guides that are either very knowledgeable or very enthusiastic, but Amadeo was 10/10 in both categories. On foot is the best way to travel to Machu Picchu and I’ll be recommending TreXperience as the way to do it.

What a trek…

Seth_Y, Apr 2024
We had a full group of 16 tourists, 20 porters, 2 chefs, and 2 tour guides. The dynamic duo of Amadeo and Sergio lead our group. I’ve never met a more knowledgeable or energetic tour guide than Amadeo. He brought a lot of supplemental materials in his backpack to help explain to us the different Incan sites we were visiting, including several books on the Incas that he wrote himself! The food was also excellent with a huge variety of comfort food and Peruvian local dishes. I would recommend TreXperience to anyone!

Incredible

Amy_M, Mar 2024
The guides are passionate, empathetic and genuine. They care so much about what they’re teaching you as well as your success and safety. The porters are super human and work so hard to ensure you are comfortable and cared for. The views are spectacular and leave you speechless. 10/10 trip with every cent!

Fantastic people, views and history

William_B, Dec 2023
The whole experience was fantastic from start to finish. The briefing the day before we started was informative and it was great to meet the group and be able to pick up any last bits that evening. There were early starts but made so much easier by the coca tea delivered to our tents! The food on the whole trip was phenomenal and we even had a freshly baked cake on the last day. The guides Jose and Iza were always supportive, funny and the highlight of the trip. We really all bonded with them and they were incredibly knowledgeable about all the sites along the way. Thank you Jose and Iza for making this trip special for us all! And thanks to the amazing porters who made this possible for us!!

Best trip!

Inca trek 2023

Nupur_G, Aug 2023
Amadeyo and Ethel were our tour guides. They are both very kind and knowledgeable. Amadeyo is also a seasoned archaeologist, who has written two books and has a lot of funny anecdotes. I was one of the slow hikers in the group, yet they were motivating. I had a great experience with the two of them. Additionally, the whole arrangement, thanks to the multiple porters and chefs like Valentin, was outstanding. The food, tents, etc was spectacular. I definitely recommend doing the trek with Trexperience. Additionally, the company cares a lot about their employees which is a really good thing to hear.

Our 4 day / 3 night trek was so much fun. My partner and I joined 11 other travelers for our tour and had great guides (Pepe and Toro), great food (head chef - Oscar) and amazing 20 amazing porters (head porter - Ruben). We would recommend this trip to anyone looking to do the Inca Trail!

4 day Inca tour with Johnny and Iza

Mark_C, Jun 2023
We have just finished the Inca tour which was scary at first, we were unsure if we should really start it but our kind and professional guides Johnny and Iza made us feel secure during the briefing and promised us to make sure we make to Machu Picchu as well no matter what conditions we have. Well, we got ill, we were slower as the others in the group are professional athletes but they did not lie we really made it just as they promised. They gave us all the support we needed and they have believed in us when we didn’t. Thank you for guiding us through this journey, this is an experience for us for a lifetime! I recommend this trip to anyone who can dream big but definitely advise to prepare youself before, exercise a lot and also start the trip with full energy, have a big rest before it and do not plan much programs after the trip either. Then leave everything else on the guides as they will be your angels throughout these 4 days! Have fun!

We had such a great time! Our guides, Marco La Leyenda and Jhordy were fantastic. They were insightful and made sure we were having fun throughout the entire trip. The chef, Valentine, made sure we were always full and we were so impressed with the quality of food even in the Peruvian wilderness. Couldn’t recommend this tour enough! Bring a good pair of hiking boots and a positive attitude.

James_S, May 2023
The 4 day Inca Trail was an absolutely amazing experience! The entire team, from our guide Miguel Rozas to our whole Porter team and chefs, made the entire trip comfortable and enjoyable. We had a small group which made it more intimate than some of the other tour groups we passed. The trek itself was difficult but manageable for anyone in decent shape. Highly recommend!!

We had a magnificent time in this trip. Doing the Inca trail for 4 days in the jungle was amazing. William and his team were so helpful with information, knowledge and spirit. The porters were so great with carrying our stuff between sites and Walter was such a talented chef, his food was delicious! I would throughly recommend this trip to anyone who wants to go to Peru

Response from Host, Aug 2022

We appreciate your positive comments, thank you! This motivates us to do a better job. Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts with us!

Book TreXperience, go with William!

Michiel_v, Jun 2022
TreXperience goes above and beyond. Having traveled for 3 months in South-America, William was by far the best guide I have had. Very knowledgeable, always happy and honest, and just very passionate about what he does. Second, the food is out of this world. Seriously, for a multiple dag trek this is not at all what I expected. Serving multiple platters of different food for each meal and day, Julio Cesar and his cooking team do an outstanding job. Next, the porters work hard, are very friendly and make you feel a little embarrassed by what they carry up the mountain for you. As a last, the whole logistics, communication and aftercare is just spot-on. Truly, never had such a well arranged trek or tour and have done many so far. Book TreXperience, go with William. It's the hike of a lifetime!
