- Important Reminder – Tour Participation Guidelines. -Please note that the tour you have booked is a shared experience with other travelers. To ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience for everyone, we kindly ask that you adhere to the scheduled starting time, as there is a strict no-exceptions policy for late arrivals. Check-in begins 20 minutes before the tour starts, at the main entrance of Knossos, directly in front of the ticket office. Here, you will meet your exclusive check-in operator and receive your entry tickets. Tickets are only valid for the selected time slot. Arriving outside this window may result in denied entry, and a new entry ticket (e.x. 20 EUR per Adult) would need to be purchased at your own expense.

This a great tour which makes the palace come to life. It’s excellent value for money, I don’t think we would have got anything like the understanding we left with if we had just done a self guided tour.

I asked for an early tour, my guide worked on the site also. She had intimate knowledge of the excavations and discoveries. This allowed for little known details… but the tour went quickly and I’d be remiss if I didn’t say I felt like I may have missed some things.
It was an expensive tour, for the amount of time spent. I feel I would have benefited from the audio tour.

Our tour guide was extremely knowledgeable and up to date on the latest archeological developments of the site which has over turned the traditional theories that came from the 1800s. She was also just an excellent guide keeping us ahead of the large groups.

wonderful experience. the place is a maze and there are many things you would very easily overlook if you didn't book a guide. our guide is a current archeologist working on the site and had plenty of stories about the process and findings. totally worth visiting such an impressive part of history

All around excellent. Very informative and our guide was very personable and really knew his stuff. We went at 5pm so there were less crowds and didn’t have contend with the mid day heat.

AKRIVI was our guide. Her level of knowledge and professorial presentation skill is exceptional and amazing. The description of information was presented as a narrative story with phenomenal detail. We enjoyed touring the Knossos Palace with our wonderful guide, Akrivi. She was so knowledgeable about the site and the history and the Greek mythology - a gifted story telling who brought the ruins to life. She seemed to love her job and her enthusiasm was truly enjoyable. We followed up our tour with a visit to the Archaeological Museum in Heraklion where we saw some of the original pieces from Knossos. After seeing the reproductions at the palace, that was a delight. A great tour! Well done, Akrivi!

Our guide Katarina was very informative & spoke clearly. We had no problem taking the local bus to/from the meeting point at the archeological site & the guided tour started on time. A later visit to the Heraklion Archeological Museum by ourselves complemented the tour perfectly.

Our guide was excellent and gave us so much information about the site and local history that isn't available to those opting for general admission. Not the cheapest option but well worth the additional cost to fully appreciate the story of Crete.

Katerina is a terrific guide - very knowledgeable about the Minoans and Mycenae: their history, their religious and cultural traditions and differences, how the Minoans brought water to the palace and created ‘modern’ plumbing, and what happened to the Minoans. She is wonderful at getting people to imagine life at the Palace and on Crete 3500 years ago.

I cannot imagine seeing such a significant historical sight without a knowledgeable guide like Akrizi. She was excellent. It was a super hot day so she kindly brought us to shade to be more comfortable. I highly recommend this tour if you are in the area.

The tour was great, arrived early to avoid confusion and hassles, so had time for coffee and juice near the entrance before the tour. Tour was very informative, lasted anout 1.5 hrs. Guide was knowledgable and personable.
