Nora was an excellent guide, so friendly and knowledgeable. We learned.so much about Cretian food and the history of Crete. Breakfast in the park was a treat sitting under the cool shade of the trees. We learned how to recognise authentic olive oil and honey in one stop over, and at lunch we got to sample a range of delicious dishes in an old venetian courtyard. A highlight was visiting the bakery where we saw how the dough is made and prepared for baklava. We also learned the significance of raki as part of the Cretian hospitality. The tour was a great introduction to Crete and has made our holiday experience all the richer.

Rethimno Walking & Gastronomy Tour with Michael was a great experience. Michael gave us a personalized ( according to our interests) very informative tour of some historical spots in the Centre of Rethymno while we made several stops for coffee, juices, cheese pie, olive oil, honey and Raki. We also stop to visit an old filo factory in the middle of filo production. Then we stop at a wonderful restaurant and ate together ( as a family does) the most amazing a plentiful lunch. We were not able to finished it all, that plentiful! Michael was very accommodating to our individual palates and ordered accordingly. We had a blast. Thank you Michael!!!

Great Tour

This was a very historical informative tour. Due to this being the low period it was just me and my friend being guided by Michael. The gastronomy part was a bit lacking, it was a small snack with coffee that was wonderful, and then a lunch, that was tasty. But if you are looking for small bites throughout the walking tour I would advise adjusting expectations. Our guide did adjust for us as we anticipated more gastronomy to experience Crete food and he provided a few samples of ice cream (sheep milk) and fried honey balls....amazing The olive oil tasting part could have been shorter, and the Raki tasting was not alot as mentioned, and just one type provided vs a variety of flavors. The lunch however was AMAZING...and will be enjoyed...just takes hours to get there. Overall a 4.5 out of 5

Thank you so much for your kind review. Just to mention extra: the stop for baklava and honey tasting which are included. Tsikoudia (raki) does not have many flavors. The traditional one is just one simple distillation process. But perhaps we should add rakomelo (which is tsikoudia with honey). Cheers!

Fantastic day in Rethmyno

We had an amazing experience with Michael on our tour of Rethmyno. The weather didn’t exactly cooperate during our tour, but Michael was unflappable and found an additional stop for us to take to escape the fast forming rain shower that flooded the streets. Our tour was intentionally kept small, which was appreciated, as it provided a more personalized experience. The tour description was spot on, but we found out that the tour is constantly evolving based on feedback to further improve the customer experience. We appreciated the small town and small business feel with the tour and loved that all of the locals seemed to know Michael. We would highly recommend this tour for anyone interested in history, good food, and good conversation!

Vincent, our tour guide, exceeded all expectations. He was prompt, professional, and extremely knowledgeable. We especially enjoyed his personality, how he engaged with us, and his personal relationships with owners of the sites we visited. Our walk was relaxed and thorough, never rushed. We had a wonderful tour with Milo who was very knowledgeable and personable. We learnt about the history of Crete and Rethymnon, Cretan culture and gastronomy. The food we sampled was exceptional. It was well worth the price.

Great way to spend the morning. Started with coffee and ended with meze with Greek donuts and local beer in between. Hara took us through the narrow lanes of Rethymnon to local places we wouldn't have found ourselves. She gave us some suggestions of restaurants to try during our stay and shops that sell the best local produce. Thanks Hara for a wonderful morning.
