Eating our way through Heraklion

Stavros was a personable guide and very knowledgeable about the city of Heraklion. We saw some unique architecture and learned some local, Crete and Greek history. The gyros were fabulous, as was the bougatsa. As if that wasn't enough food , we then sat down to a full meal of fried cheese, bread, salad, potatoes, egg plant in tomato sauce, fried zucchini, chicken and lamb, etc. There was so much food! We had no room left for icecream! Stavros served us a good bottle of wine on the way back to the hotel and gave us a lovely bottle of his of his very own olive oil. We would highly recommend this tour for a great sampling of Cretan food.
