We had such a great day with our experienced and skillful guide, Luis. It was blustery and cold and even so he managed to make it a lovely and warm experience for us, including my five-year-old daughter. Some highlights for us were Luis’s immense knowledge about the history and ecosystem of the island. We saw so many beautiful birds, iguanas, crocodiles (both sunning and swimming!) and coatis. The beaches were pristine and the cenote was a bonus!
Luis was particularly good with our child—kind and consistently catering to her interests. She says “I highly recommend Luis!”

Luis was a great guide. He gave us a good tour of the island along with an eduction of Cozumel. The buggy was a fun experience. Skip the lunch at the end of the tour. Very bland meal. Not worth eating and 2 out of three of us left the plate not eaten. The third had fish tacos. The tequila tasting was a push to sell high end priced tequila. I recommend the tour without meal and tequila.

We loved this tour! Our tour guide, Julio was focused on providing the type of private experience that was customized to what we wanted to see and do. The cars are a little beat up but are fun and provide an open concept similar to a Jeep. We went to a state park, climbed up a lighthouse which provided great picture opportunities, went to a couple beach areas and toured the tequila factory. I really don’t drink much but the tequila was fabulous and I ended up buying a bottle of peanut butter tequila to drizzle over breads. It’s a family owned business that is in the 6th generation and one of the family members actually gave the tour. Our family decided that we did not want to go snorkeling and asked our tour guide to take us into the true Cozumel community, not just the touristic locations. We stopped at a grocery store and bought a few items, went to an outdoor fruit stand, drove by some schools and drove through neighborhood. Lunch of fajitas or tacos at Coco is included, which was very good. It’s in a touristic area so we weren’t worried about eating there. Julio got us back to port so we could do some shopping. We really enjoyed the day and felt it was one of our favorite tours we have taken. We felt like it was better than tours we have done through the cruise lines and less expensive. We loved that it was just us and the tour guide and we could change things up.

We had a fantastic time on our private tour around the island. Issac was our guide and he was amazing! He didn't rush us and was full of knowledge about everything. He stopped for pictures anytime we asked him. The tequila was delish and it was really cool to learn all about it. The only part of the tour that we weren't pleased with was the very last stop for food/drinks which seemed to be ran by Coco Adventures. It was very crowded and the food was not good at all. We didn't go hungry, but were disappointed in the food. Also, our margaritas ended up being much more than the waiter had told us before we ordered. We would have much rather eaten at a little local hole in the wall cantina, and not be brought to a tourist area like this. We should have brought more cash with us as you may do better with the shopping prices with cash, and we also wanted to tip a few different times, but only had accounted for our guide.

There was some confusion from the company at the start of our tour. Multiple people told us to wait for Pedro, who did not arrive. Marco eventually generously stepped in and took us. Marco was a lovely guide and driver. He generously shared information and answered our questions. The drive around the island was scenic, but not well timed. By the time we got to the beach, there wasn’t time to both have lunch and go in the water. The eco park was a highlight, but we would have preferred to skip the tequila. Our main concern was the vehicle’s condition and safety. It has no working seatbelts, yet drives at highway speeds. The vehicle was not accurately reflected on the website, which had images of newer buggies.

Be ready to spend 90% of your time at the tequila factory a they pressure you to by tequila pictures and out of their gift shop. The beach time was only 15 minutes then you went to the restaurant where you do get tacos or fajitas but you have to buy drinks water and be pressured into buying items while you eat

It’s worth noting that you were part of a group of 14 Guests who all shared the same itinerary that day — and other Members of your Party left a 5-star review describing the experience as excellent, praising Johnny for his friendly guidance, the tequila, chocolate, and tortilla tasting, the beautiful ride to Chen Río, and the delicious lunch at Coco's Beach Club (one of them left a review, right before yours).
Regarding your comments, we’d like to clarify a few important points:
The visit to the tequila and chocolate stop lasts approximately 45 minutes and includes a brief explanation of how tequila is made, its history, and a guided tasting. Guests are indeed offered the opportunity to purchase bottles, but this part of the experience represents a small portion of the overall tour, not 90% as mentioned.
Your Group also requested to make the tour slightly shorter in order to return early to the ferry pier to Playa del Carmen.
According to our Tour Guide’s report, the beach club stop was planned for at least 50 minutes, but your group decided to reduce that time so you could leave sooner.
As for drinks, the Tour Description clearly states that bottled water and sodas are provided throughout the excursion, while beverages during lunch are not included. This is standard practice and always mentioned before the meal.
We appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts, and we regret that your experience felt different from the rest of your Group’s.

One of the best tours we ever had. The tour, the tequila, the food and drinks. Antonio was the best tour guide we've had while touring Mexico. The tour was on time, the ride in the modified car was awesome. Antonio took us on a leisurely ride to the ruins and the eco park. We had a lot fun and got to see two crocodiles. Then a great tour of the lighthouse and museum. My favorite part was where we ended up. COCO's beach resort. Loved this place. We had the best food included in the price of the tour. My personal recommendation is get a drink at COCO's and enjoy the beach and water. So relaxing to sit there enjoy a GIANT drink with a lounge chair and the beach.

I'll start by saying that I'm happy to see that other people have enjoyed this experience but sadly I can't say the same. Based on their reviews, I actually had very high expectations and was hoping to have a similar experience but was far from what we experienced. We have visited Cozumel 4 times previously and we usually just visit a beach club but this time we wanted to do something a little different. We arrived at the meet up spot and Edwin escorted us to the parking lot where the vehicles were parked. Upon showing us the vehicles we'd be taking, they looked nothing like the vehicles that were in the pictures that we saw on the booking advertisement. The vehicles looked very old and didn't appear to look like they were in good condition. That was quickly confirmed as soon as we got ready to depart. The vehicle we were driving had a check engine light on and the vehicle that the guide was driving with the rest of our group wouldn't even crank. We waited about 30 minutes for a new vehicle to arrive so that we could even depart. Once that vehicle arrived, we left but all the way to our first destination, it was smoking so badly and it was making a loud popping noise. As we approached the Punta Sur turn, the vehicle cut off and would not start up again. Therefore, 2 of our party of 6 were stranded along with the tour guide. He made attempts to crank it but it wasn't starting. At this point, we all decided that it was best to just try to get a taxi back to the port to avoid being stranded further and risk getting left by our ship. Edwin was very apologetic and tried to accommodate us while he contacted the company. We told him that it wasn't his fault and tried to be understanding and patient. We were very grateful to the restaurant employee at the entrance to Punta Sur for allowing us to hang out until the tour company sent another vehicle. Needless to say, we spent 2 hours of our 5 hour tour dealing with vehicle issues and didn't get to see any of the planned tour stops. We were very grateful that the company's manager gave us a full refund for our inconvenience. I think the company really needs to take better care of the vehicles and provide the vehicles that are advertised.

This was a really cool way to see a lot of what Cozumel has to offer. Our cruise ship ported here and this was definitely the best port of the cruise. We had Yared as our guide and he was great. The buggy seatbelts did not all work so that wasn’t ideal but almost everything else was. The cenote is worth skipping. We’ve been to others that are much more tranquil and well taken care of but if you haven’t seen one still cool to see. Had the best mojito ever and the tequila tasting was very informative and tasty. Lunch was not a ton of food and you pay for your own drinks but the beach club was a good spot. We wish we had more time for all there was to see and do but glad we go in all that we could and got back to our boat with time to spare. Definitely recommend.

It was our first time in Mexico. We came by cruise ship and I was hesitant to book an independent excursion not knowing if we could make it back to the ship on time. But our guide, Elias, was fantastic! He was prompt so we started our tour on time with plenty of time for snorkelling and swimming and getting back to the ship for departure. Elias was professional and accomodating. We needed to pick up some essentials before going back to the shp and he gladly took us to where we could purchase these.
The tour started with a visit to a cenote where we saw a lone crocodile in the brackish water. The highlights of our trip were the visit to Punta Sur where we braved 133 steps to the top of the lighthouse for a breathtaking view of the Western Carribean Sea and snorkeling at Coco beach. The weather was perfect so our photos were postcard perfect! Although we saw a lot of fiah close to the beach, we were hoping to have been able to see some live corals too. However, the snorkeling was fun enough to compensate for this.
Overall, we had a wonderful time and we recommend this tour and our guide, Elias, for a time well spent in Cozumel.

Adriana, our tour guide was extremely knowledgeable about the history and animals in Cozumel. she was also very friendly and wanted to make sure we had the best time we could have. Coco Adventours was very professional with all communications. Antonio was our tour guide. He was prompt, personal and very knowledgeable about the island. He kept us on a great schedule and we had plenty of time to arrive back to the ship which was one of my concerns when not booking through the ship. All places we visited he introduced us and they were very nice and not pushy or disrespectful. We loved each stop to the Punta Sur Park to enjoy the crocodiles and the lighthouse. Learned about the Myan people and their life. Viewed several beautiful beaches. Toured and learned about the making of chocolate and tequilla. Then enjoyed lunch at the Coco Beach Club which was very tasty with quick service and a great atmosphere. We would use this company again when in Cozumel. I definitely recommend this company. Thank you for making our stop at your port enjoyable.

The buggy’s were very hard getting in and out the tour guide Poco was nice we didn’t get to snorkel because they said weather but i saw people in the beach at the lighthouse the best part was the lunch

While we understand your frustration regarding the snorkeling, please note that due to adverse weather conditions, the Harbor Master closed the port for safety reasons, which meant no water-based activities were permitted. If you saw people swimming at their own risk, please know that this was beyond our control, and our primary concern is always the safety of our Guests.
We also want to highlight that you signed a Release Form agreeing to participate in the tour despite the snorkeling being canceled. At that point, you had the option to cancel and receive a full refund, but chose to continue with the modified itinerary.
Regarding the Buggys, we want to clarify that these are customized vehicles, which makes entry and exit a bit different compared to regular cars, hence your experience.
We are grateful for your feedback on the lunch and we hope to have the chance to welcome you back and offer a better weather related experience.

Issac came and picked us up at the hotel. He was knowledgeable and could tell you tons of information of the island. He asked what we wanted to do first. We needed up going to the Tequila tour first. Soooooo worth it. Where we went we had the best lady (which I could remember her name) but she was on point. Loved that we learned about the culture and heritage. Then it was the tortillas yummy. Then moved on to the chocolate. Fantastic. It was interesting to see how the chocolate was made, smell and see the coco beans. Then of course to taste it. Then we moved onto the the tequila. It was an experience to see the regions where the agave plants grown. Then on to the tasting. Yes, it was the best. She really know her stuff which made the experience so much more enjoyable. From there onto the light house. That was worth it. Then we went back to the north shore for taco tasting. WELL…that is where it was not great. We just went to a restaurant. There was a choice of beef or chicken taco or fajitas. We were the only ones there and they were waiting on us before they could close. We wanted something that you could not get at home. Felt bad that they were waiting on us to show up. We never go to go snorkeling. We were not sure why and Isaac never told us. Hoping to go to a really great spot. But instead dropped us off at the hotel and that was the end.

My family and I had a fantastic time, we were able to experience the island with quite a bit of Mexican history. Punta Sur was just breathtaking! The tequila & chocolate tour was quite informative. I should only give it a four star review because of how pushy the tequila guy was when we wouldn’t buy anything but this tour deserves a five star. We all left with knowledge and enjoyed a great tour!

Don't fall for the tequila scam. They allow you to sample different tequilas. Then explain that the flavored tequila have 26% alcohol while the others are 38%. You sample different tequilas that are very strong. When you decide to purchase, they bring out the bottle already wrapped up and secured. They know if you're on a cruise, you won't open the wrapping because you won't be able to bring it back on board. Well when we got back, we discovered the $70 bottle they sold us, only had 12% alcohol. The equivalency of a $10 bottle of wine. Such a rip off! Avoid this tour!!

It seems there may have been some confusion regarding the types of beverages.
Our tequila based flavored or cream beverages, which include coconut, coffee, almond, strawberry, etc. contain in between 12.9% to 18% alcohol as those are not 100% tequila.
Our 100% Tequilas, such as Blanco, Reposado, Añejo, Extra Añejo, and Reserva, contain 35% alcohol.
We aim to provide transparency in our offerings, and we apologize for any misunderstanding during your purchase, as the price you mention is exactly for a flavored beverage, as our 100% Tequilas start from Blanco at $82.00 US.

Miguel was great! He asked where we wanted to go and since we weren't sure we left most of it up to him. We enjoyed the ride and tequila tastings. The views of the water was spectacular and the most colorful I've seen anywhere. Awesome time!
