Overview

Pro Dive was excellent! Everyone was friendly, the dive was incredible, and my wife had a great time snorkeling with her own guide during my dive! Our dive master, Andres, was very professional, friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable of the reef sea life! I will absolutely dive Cozumel again and use Pro Dive!

The Viator description is wrong. This dive experience actually starts at 1:00 PM. Consequently we were not able to complete both dives before our cruise ship all aboard time of 5 PM. The dive shop tried to accommodate us and were fantastic to work with. I have no complaints against them. However they have also said they tried to fix the start time with Viator and have been unable to do so. Again the people at the shop were great and the one dive we were able to go on was great. VIATOR please fix the listing!!

This was a horrible excursion. First off, the directions were horrible. Nowhere did it mention that this was a resort hotel dive shop. The taxi driver didn't know where to take me and once I arrived at the hotel, no one knew where the dive shop was. Upon arrival, I did the paperwork and then started to get my gear. First they tried to tell me to wear an XL BC because they didn't have any large ones available. Then they tried to "fix" one that had hose that had come disconnected. The BC I ended up with on the boat had a leak. The dive guides were really nice guys but I question their experience. There were six divers in our group and we immediately hit extremely strong currents when we went down. I understand the guides can't control the dive conditions but the subsequent dives were not handled well. At one point the guide was encouraging people to go back in with their partially used tanks. I didn't do it and when the boat when back to the dock for more gas, I got off and returned to my ship. Lesson learned. I will do much more research than I did for future dives. There are lots of independent dive shops closer to the cruise port. Find those or check with your local dive shops for better options in Couzemel. Dive at your own risk with this company.

Clearest water

Camille was our dive instructor who made this a great experience. The water had great visibility and we saw lots of beautiful coral structure and fish. Only suggestion is if you are not staying in Cozumel, the dive starts 45mins past what the booking time states so plan your ferry home accordingly. Our 12pm dive started at approx 12:45 and finished at 4:45. If I could do this trip over, i would still rebook and highly recommend.

I am a travel agent and a certified scuba diver. I've been all over the Caribbean and have plenty of dives under my belt, having worked with many dive operators. I booked this excursion since we were on a cruise and there were no options through the cruise line to book a two tank dive through them. I've booked several excursions through Viator before and NEVER have I had an issue with a tour operator like I had with this dive operation - which is Pro Dive International Occidental Cozumel. I should mention that when I booked the excursion it listed a start time of 12:00 and said it would be a 4 hour excursion. Our ship was due to leave port that day at 5:00 which meant we had to be back on the ship by 4:30. I knew it was going to be tight but I figured we could make it work. I hadn't heard anything from them about the trip so I reached out to them while on our cruise and they didn't respond until the DAY OF THE DIVE. They told me that the tour was actually closer to 5 or 5 and a half hours long and that we wouldn't be back to the dive shop until about 5 or 5:30 (and the dive shop is about a half hour away from the cruise port). I told them that would not work then and asked to cancel my reservation and refund my money I'd paid for myself, my sister, and my daughter.... and they said NO! I would have had to cancel 24 hours before the trip in order to get my money back - but they didn't return any of my messages until the morning of the dive!!! They also said they supposedly had sent me an email after I booked asking about where we were staying and whatnot because if they knew THEN that we were coming in on a cruise they could have told me that we would not be back in time. But I never got any messages or emails from them! Okay fine - what about just a single tank dive? Can we do a single tank and be back at the dive shop in time to get us in a taxi and back to the cruise port? They couldn't guarantee it. Apparently it all depends on the boat - and apparently the boat had gone out about an hour late that morning. I was thinking it over and asked them if we did just the one tank dive would the do a partial refund. NOPE! They were not willing to give even just a little bit! ***Did I forget to mention that through all these text messages that were going back and forth they kept asking us to tell them what we were going to do - because if we weren't going to do our dive(s) that day they wanted to be able to sell our seats on the boat to other divers?? Yeah, so they could KEEP OUR MONEY - AND - sell our seats to other divers - essentially making twice the amount of money for our three spots on the boat. How greedy and selfish is that???? I asked to speak to the manager and was told there was no manager. (Apparently I was speaking to a "sales agent"). I asked for the owner - was told he was not there as well. I asked for a way to contact the owner and was given a generic info@blahblahblah.com email address. So frustrated with that whole operation! I absolutely will NEVER send any of my clients to them for any of their dives.

We had a great time on this excursion. The location of the dive shop was about a 10 minute taxi ride from the cruise terminal. Everyone was nice and accommodating. We had to reconfigure our dives due to the times (didn’t take into consideration the local time vs ship time) but Alicia at the dive shop helped get us on a boat for our first dive and then on a different boat for the second one. We dove with Nanou and Jolien, both great, calm guides. And the dive locations were awesome, with lots of coral and fish to see and some amazing pass through to swim though.

Amazing experience - phenomenal staff helped us get checked in and set up with gear, everything was super clean and in great shape. The dive guides were super knowledgeable and a pleasure to dive with! The dives we went on were amazing - we have been diving all over the world but these locations were some of the best, especially swimming under the coral and with all of the marine life! Would absolutely come back and recommend to all!

The spot was nice but the equipment was old and wore out. Couldn't stop mask from leaking and regulator would fill with water! Not much fun when you can't see with saltwater in eyes and breathing through water gurgling in regulator. They were nice but didn't correct the problems.
