Not a "tour"- Do not recommend for solo travel

This is not a tour, only a company buying tickets for you and arranging transportation. While the drivers were nice, there is absolutely no way this should have cost me $800 USD (for comparison, I flew roundtrip Florida to New Zealand for only $700). They dropped me off at the train station in Chengdu where I then had to figure out what to do on my own (I had never taken a train previously). And the process repeated- I was then dropped off near the entrance to Huanglong and just told to "walk that way." I returned to the driver in the afternoon where I was transported to the next city/hotel, told that the entrance to Jiuzhaigou was about 500 meters away so I could just walk, and then meet the driver back at the hotel at 4pm the next day. The hotel was a Holiday Inn Express- definitely not "4 star"- I literally had trash as the view out my window! I was then dropped off uphill in the rain from the next train station for the return trip to Chengdu where I had to figure out the train situation on my own again (different station set-up). I feel like this company greatly took advantage of me in terms of cost. I can check the price of the train tickets and know the hotel was only about $60 USD. Even paying the drivers well (which I am certain they didn't receive even close to the amount I paid), this should have been $400 at the most and there still would have been profit fot the company.

We selected this property to ensure a consistent standard of service and comfort, we have contacted with the hotel and told them your bad experience with viewing rubbish outside your window, and consider change to another hotel in the future. We sincerely regret that the weather in Huanglong was unfavorable during your visit. High-altitude regions can be unpredictable, and we realize that the snow and cold temperatures made your visit physically uncomfortable. While our package is logistical in nature, we recognize that we could have done a better job of proactively reminding you about the sudden drop in temperature. We apologize that this lack of a weather alert impacted your enjoyment of the scenic area.

Very well organized and tour conductor's replies were always quick and precise. The driver does not speak English and I never speak Chinese, but we could cope with the translation application. It could have been better if I could choose the train back to Chengdu, as I knew I would be able to walk faster than average.

Thanks a lot for your feedback, it’s true as you mentioned, you walked much faster than normal tourists, quite a lot people think 8 hours are not enough to visit the Jiuzhaigou Park, some even go on 2nd day again to visit the park twice, most important, all people have been there speak highly of its beauty.
