Our tour guide Dan was absolutely AMAZING during our cultural tour. He is very knowledgeable and he went above and beyond to make sure we had a great experience and my sister and I greatly appreciate his hospitality. Definitely recommend and I give it a 10/10!!!!

If you truly want to see the culture of Cartagena, this is the tour to go on. Daniel (Danny) was amazing. Walked us through the beautiful streets of Getsemeni and down in the Market place. His story made us feel as if we lived a day in the life of the locals. He was so full of knowledge.

Our guide, Daniel was very thorough. He spent extra time with us allowing for stops along the way. The Bazurto market was interesting and the lunch at Cecelia’s was delicious. Anthony Bourdain really did eat here. Unfortunately leaving the market a motorcyclist grabbed my necklace and ripped it off my neck causing severe bruising. I wish our cruise line had told us not wear ANY jewelry. Daniel has gone out of his way to try to track down my jewelry. He has contacted everyone he knows to be on the look out at all the places thieves go to sell their stolen merchandise. A private tour is the way to go!

Alberto is an exceptional tour guide. He is very knowledgeable providing great overview of Cartagena history, art, and culture. He tells great jokes too. I had a pleasant time walking through the Old City and Getsamani learning about the distant past, recent history and food culture of Cartagena. I totally recommend this tour, even for a solo traveler.

Adalberto was tremendous. Absolutely encyclopedic, accessible and so enthusiastic about the history, the culture and the food of Cartagena. I am so grateful we were paired with him. I will recommend this tour and he, as a tour guide, to everyone I know visiting Cartagena. This is a must do tour.

This was the highlight of our entire cruise. The guide was great. Our family spoke both English and Spanish and his language skills were very good! The places he took us, the local fruit he had us try, and our day spent was a complete pleasure. We learned a lot and really enjoyed his company. We felt safe and part of the family.

Tour guide didn’t show up - didn’t answer text messages - sent a voice message that apparently VIATOR is incapable of listening to apologies for not getting in touch with us - someone else from company sent text saying weren’t responding to his messages - in other words they have been doing this long enough to know how to lie … I requested refund that they declined and VIATOR went along with it - I complained so they are now “investigating” - beware is all I can say - these people lie and VIATOR won’t protect you … I can understand mix ups and if they had come clean, given a refund even though I wasted a day returning to Cartagena early in the morning for this tour I probably wouldn’t have been disgusted

We appreciate the time you took to make the review. However, we must clarify that despite the fact that you were the one who did not show up and after waiting for you for more than 1/2 hour, we kindly gave you the option to make a reschedule. You also did not attend the agreed day and your partner informed us that you had brought forward your trip to leave Cartagena, which is why you could not attend. Contrary to your claim, VIATOR refunded your money even though you did not go to the experience and did not cancel it in the required time. We recommend that you verify your financial status so that you can see the credit in your account once your financial institution credits it.

Great walking tour of the walled City and vibrant neighborhoods. Adalberto was informative and accommodating. He waited as we were delayed disembarking from our cruise and took us to places we could buy good Columbian emeralds and coffee. Lunch was in a very local market—a very interesting experience and one we wouldn’t have had otherwise.

Mr. Gonzalez was absolutely fantastic. His knowledge of Colombia was extensive and we had great laughs and learn rich history as we walked around the walled city. The amazing part of the tour was the Anthony Bourdain part. The food was very tasty. You will enjoy this tour.

If you want to experience and be deeply immersed in culture and delicious food this tour is for you. It’s hot and beautiful and our tour guide was hilarious and was very patient w us all. He was so acknowledged and detailed about the history and made it easy for everyone to understand and even remember ! Loved it and would definitely recommend everyone try this tour !!

The tour was amazing the city was beautiful and its history. I like that it was a small group we were able to do a lot. Lunch in the community was wonderful. I recommend Anthony Bourdain. He is funny and very knowledgeable.

Adalberto was an excellent guide. Very knowledgeable about the old city, Cartegena and the historical significance of different sites and monuments. Plus he is an amazing artist. It’s a lengthy tour and quite hot but our guide made sure we had enough breaks to stay hydrated. The restaurant visit in the old seafood market is unique experience. The only thing I would recommend is to include some local foods as part of the tour. Not just the restaurant. Overall excellent. Highly recommend

Adalberto was wonderful! He is patient, kind and professional. He knows a lot about this country and this area and he sprinkled in enjoyable bits about his family and wife. It’s a great tour to take one of your first days in Cartagena in order to get a lay of the land. He gives tips for interacting with locals and vendors too. The market lunch is authentic and delicious. Probably doesn’t get any more fresh and local than that.

I loved this leisurely tour through Cartagena by our guide, an elder gentleman whose name I unfortunately forget. We saw so much and heard a lot of history and key facts about the city during our walk through the old city walls. We took lots of pictures and really enjoyed ourselves.
The only reason I gave a 4 and not a 5 was because the tour was The Most Complete Tour & Lunch at Anthony Bourdain’s favorite market and although we indeed had lunch there, we merely rushed in, ate, and were whisked out without a tour of the market. We had to take a taxi to the seedy part of town for the market, and it didn’t look or smell good, but that’s what we were expecting and felt we missed. We entered in the fish market side and saw nothing else of the market. After that let down the tour was over in the place we started.

My sister and I went on "THE MOST COMPLETE TOUR & LUNCH At ANTHONY BOURDAIN FAVORITE SPOT" tour on July 19th, 2024, and it was an unforgettable experience! Our tour guide, Adalberto, was nothing short of spectacular. His deep knowledge of the history and local customs, combined with his warm and patient demeanor, made the tour exceptionally enjoyable.
The highlight for us was visiting the vibrant street market and eating at the spots where Anthony Bourdain once dined. We felt truly immersed in the local culture, thanks to Adalberto's insightful commentary and genuine passion for sharing the best of his city. Despite the weather and the fast pace of the walled city, Adalberto continuously checked on everyone, ensuring we were all comfortable and well taken care of.
If you are a true traveler who loves to delve into different cultures, this tour is a must. We highly recommend it and can't praise Adalberto enough for his kindness and dedication. This tour is a fantastic way to explore the rich culture and history of the city. Don't miss out!

We had a wonderful 4 hour private tour of the walled city of Cartagena, Barrio Getsemaní and lively Mercado de Bazurto where we enjoyed an authentic Cartagena lunch. We even saw the sloths at Parque Del Centenario! Aldaberto is an excellent & professional guide whose family roots in Cartagena go back 10 generations. We learned so much about Cartagena’s history & culture which we wouldn’t have sightseeing on our own. He also gave us recommendations eateries & street food vendors which we stopped by afterwards for some delicious fried plantains and gelato. It was truly a privilege for us to have Aldaberto as our guide as he is kind, humble, patient, and courteous. He is fluent in English & Spanish and tells stories peppered with humor. He is also very flexible and we were able to pop into places that caught our interest while still seeing all that the tour included. I highly recommend this tour and if you’re lucky, you’ll have Aldaberto as your personal guide.

The tour was great we saw some great sights and adalberto was very nice , funny and knowledgeable, the only downside was the car ride to Bazurto market for lunch the drivers car kept shutting off in traffic and the car was small so we weren’t very comfortable. Otherwise the food at the Bazurto market was amazing, I would definitely do it again.
