Beautiful Views, Disappointing Service

The biggest issue was the service. As a solo traveler, I felt overlooked throughout the day. I watched other guests being offered food and drink menus, while no one ever came to explain my options or check on me. I eventually had to flag someone down just to order a drink. Throughout the day, I found myself repeatedly trying to get a staff member’s attention while others seemed to receive much more attentive service. I can’t say why my experience was different—it may have been because I was traveling solo, because I’m an English speaker, or for another reason entirely. As a darker-skinned Black traveler, I also couldn’t help but wonder if that played a role. I have no way of knowing, so I can only describe how the experience made me feel: overlooked and undervalued as a guest.

REALLY relaxing experience! Food is great, service was great! Had a Dj and beautiful scenery. Had a few island dogs but they aren’t aggressive and pretty chill.

We'd heard about taking a boat to the islands off Cartagena, but I'm pregnant and many of the boats recommend if you're pregnant, because of the speedboat and the choppiness. So we were between this and a large catamaran. This boat ride was very easy - a small speedboat, but across the bay so not choppy at all, very smooth, for only about 15minutes. Most of the experience was about enjoying the beach and pool at Felix Beach Club. The service was fantastic, but the beach and water were filthy. My husband and I both got sick the next day and we think it was because of the disgusting garbage water. But if you hang on the beach and dip in the pool it's a nice day. You can choose your departure time (9:30, 10:30, 11:30, even 12:30) from Cartagena -- and once there you can choose your return (4:30, 5:30, or 6:30). We thought about staying for sunset (we were there in December) but opted for the 4:30 and were definitely ready to go by then. But it was a nice relaxing day on a beach chair. Just avoid the water. We paid extra for the "beach front chairs" which was definitely not worth it. Everyone got beach front chairs.

Not worth the prices, welcome drink is a budweiser beer, the food was average and beware of dogs that will steal you food. Below average at best!

We had a wonderful day at Fenix beach. The boat trip was short but great. The staff was super friendly. Food and accommodation was excellent. The DJ was playing great tunes all day. We really enjoyed our day at Fenix beach.
