Unforgettable experience

Karen_M, Mar 2026
My visit to the pyramids and the ancient tombs was an unforgettable experience, made even better by my guide/photographer, Omar, a knowledgeable Egyptologist who brought every site to life with rich context and fascinating stories. Walking through the tombs and standing before structures that have endured for thousands of years gave me a deep appreciation for the history, beliefs, and daily life of ancient Egyptians. I’m so happy I came.

Plenty of fun, but made the carpet stop

Francis_B, Feb 2026
Spent a very good day travelling to Memphis, Saqqarah and Giza. The pick up was on schedule, and we didn't waste any time heading out to Memphis. Yasmine was very knowledgable and had answers to all my questions. The quad was plenty of fun (even though we drove past a few carcasses on the way to the dunes). We did make an "unplanned" stop at a carpet school, but I made it clear I wasn't going to buy anything and we were out in less than 5 minutes. I would have rated 5 stars, but this is just plain misleading and bad practice (and relates to other reviews).

Misrepresented “Private” Tour – Shared Experience & Upselling

Eydalia_M, Feb 2026
I wish I could say this was a great experience, but unfortunately what I paid for and what I received were two very different things. I booked and paid for a private tour. I was picked up by a private driver from my hotel and taken to a meeting point, where we waited approximately 30 minutes for the guide to arrive. When the guide finally arrived in a separate vehicle, my driver followed him — and it became immediately clear that the guide was traveling with six other tourists. Upon arrival at the pyramid entrance, I was informed that the tour would be shared, not private as advertised and paid for. We were instructed to buy specific entrance tickets, which the guide then collected. We waited another 10–15 minutes while the guide negotiated with security before entering. To be fair, the guide was knowledgeable and experienced, and the historical explanations were good. He also took nice photos of each participant once we entered the plateau. However, several issues followed: • The camel ride was clearly tiered based on extra payment. When I declined to pay an additional $20, my camel ride was noticeably shorter — not even 30 minutes. The handler was very rude and demanded a tip afterwards. When I declined based on his attitude, he got upset and my guide in turn tipped him himself. • Our guide “suggested” we buy souvenirs from a specific vendor, and when I tried to browse other sellers, the guide followed me and insisted I only buy from the first one. I later realized this was likely due to commission arrangements. • Quad bikes were never offered or available, despite being mentioned. • The visit to the Sphinx was brief and from a distance, after which the tour of the pyramids ended and we were rushed into a vehicle and taken to a pappyrus shop. I had already been there, so our guide again “offered” to call my original driver so that I can “go to lunch and relax” whIle they shopped. What upset me most came afterward. When I reviewed my credit charges, I noticed I had bought a ticket as if I had visited the inside of the pyramids which we did not. I contacted Viator, who said they would investigate with the local operator, Nice Tours. Unfortunately, the tour operator misrepresented what happened, and Viator accepted their account despite evidence. I was refunded only 30% of the original tour costs, which I find unfair given that: 1. I paid for a private tour and received a shared tour 2. Multiple advertised elements were missing or altered 3. I was led to buy tickets for something I did not do I’m deeply disappointed by how this situation was handled. If you book through Viator, be very careful to confirm the operator, and I strongly recommend avoiding Nice Tours altogether. I also strongly advise future travelers to be cautious of VIP add-ons presented on-site, as declining them results in reduced experiences.

Not worth the money

KwokTang_W, Feb 2026
Travelled to Cairo for work, with a couple of colleagues. We had some free time, so booked this experience as it seemed to be one of the more expensive options, which we hoped would provide a more up-market and curated experience. The Tour operator is Nice Tours. The communication seemed reasonable, as the tour operator contacted us via whatsapp the evening prior, requesting hotel location and room number, which was duly provided. After rising nice and early, the driver messaged us notifying us that he was delayed due to traffic. He arrived 45 minutes late. We went outside to look for the driver, and noticed a small grey car which was very much past its prime, and joked "which poor bugger is saddled with that one?". Alas it was us. This was not an auspicious start! The driver was friendly enough, but the car was far from acceptable. It was dilapidated, dirty, and the seat belts in the rear didn't function, which is not good if you are familiar with Cairo traffic. I immediately contacted the tour operator via whatsapp, and received no response after several messages. I called them also, and my call was dumped each time after a couple of rings. This level of customer service is unacceptable. We drove for 20 minutes, and picked up our guide for the day. A friendly lady with the name of Jasmine. She unfortunately had to squeeze into the tiny rear seat with two other adults for the 45 minute drive to Saqqara. To her credit, she understood the suboptimal conditions, and tried to contract the tour operator. We arrived in Saqqara, and was informed by Jasmine that she has arranged for a replacement vehicle. Although we were left wondering why the tour company felt it was ok to give us such a bad quality conveyance, particularly given the high cost of the tour. The tour included Saqqara, Memphis, Giza, Camel riding and quad bikes around the pyramids. All was great fun. Carmen our guide seemed to lack real insight in Egyptology, and seemed more interested in ushering us quickly around the sights, and paid more attention to her phone than us. Her verbal presentations were robotic and seemed to be an often repeated script, which didnt really provide us with any real information. What was worse was she seemed very intent on getting us to give everyone tips, and towards the end of our trip, suggested that due to the trip being longer than planned (caused by the late pick up), we will need to pay the driver a big tip, otherwise she would have to report the over time to the tour operator, who would then charge us. This was clearly not exactly factual, and designed to extract every last cent from us. All in all, the activities were terrific fun, especially the camel riding and quad bikes. However the quality of the tour fell well short of our expectations, particularly given the premium price we had paid. I note that the entrance fees are not included, which we knew about. But the point is that we expected much more for 100USD/person. To be fair, we did finally receive a response via whatsapp from the tour operator that evening, expressing that they changed the car. The positive side is that everything was arranged, and facilitated, making the day convenient and wide ranging. The negative is that the quality of the vehicle and tour guide was well below acceptable quality. My overall impression is that it was simply not worth the money. Caveat Emptor!

A first rate tour

Jasmine_Y, Jan 2026
Omar gave us a comprehensive tour of Saqqara and ensured we saw and understood the background to the pyramids and tumbs. He then took us to a wonderful restaurant for local folk which was very good value for. Money. Ghandy was an excellent driver. Highly recommended

Good value, but very hands-off (and too many shop stops)

HYUNGJU_K, Dec 2025
This tour is budget-friendly, but it’s very hands-off: we were taken to the main spots, given a quick explanation, and then the guide would disappear until the next meeting point. The guide didn’t accompany us inside the pyramid either—if you want to enter, you do it on your own while the guide waits outside. We were also taken to several unrequested shop stops, and after the guide got out, the driver tried to add his own shop detours as well. That said, the bike tour part was genuinely enjoyable and ended up being the highlight for me. Unfortunately, the camel ride was the opposite. Halfway through, the camel handler asked for a tip on the spot. I gave 400 EGP, but he got angry and insisted it should be 600 EGP because there were three of us. We had a child on the camel, and the situation felt tense enough that I paid the extra amount just to avoid any risk and end it safely. It was a surprising and uncomfortable experience.

The agency handled the matter inappropriately!

SAA, Dec 2025
I booked the excursion advertised as private, with a personal driver and guide. Given numerous feedback indicating that the excursion had shifted from private to group format, I immediately contacted the provider to reconfirm it would remain private, receiving multiple assurances to that effect. At 00:20 on the day of the excursion, I was informed via Whatsup that our guide had canceled, and we would need to join a group. I categorically refused and insisted on adherence to the agreement. Until 03:00 that night, they claimed to be searching for a guide, only to state that none was available anywhere in Cairo—a claim that is difficult to believe. As I had already purchased online entry tickets for all sites along the tour (valid for a specific date and not inexpensive), I requested at minimum a private English-speaking driver to facilitate communication. They agreed to this arrangement. In the morning, a young man (Nubi) greeted us at the hotel—courteous, well-mannered, and fluent in English—sent to accompany us, as the driver did not speak English. Nubi made tremendous efforts to ensure our comfort, though he stated himself that he was not a guide but rather the agency's representative. Thus, we visited the sites independently, without a guide or information, crammed into a small private car: ourselves (3 adults), the agency representative, and the driver. I am grateful to Nubi and the driver for giving their best to somewhat mitigate the unpleasant situation, but I consider the agency unprofessional and unethical. I would not recommend this excursion or provider to anyone close to me.

Thank you Karim

An Unforgettable Ancient Experience - Egypt

Elvis_O, Dec 2025
My trip to Egypt was an amazing and memorable experience that exceeded my expectations. From seeing the breathtaking Pyramids of Giza to exploring fascinating museums filled with ancient artifacts, every moment felt meaningful and exciting. The rich history, warm hospitality, and delicious local food made the journey even more enjoyable. Overall, Egypt offered a perfect mix of culture, history, and adventure, making it a destination I would happily recommend to others.

Beware of these scammers !

hemam_G, Dec 2025
I gave this tour 2 stars only because the tour guide was at least punctual and friendly (I could give them 1 star or below if possible). The driver and the guide (Dalia) made an effort to make me feel comfortable and be friendly to compensate for her complete inability to speak English and knowledge of Egyptian history. In most instances she had no idea what she was talking about and in the instances she did she couldn’t explain it in English. Also, know that these tour guides working for these private tour companies will take you to different shops (oil, spices, papyrus, souvenirs) and they get commissions from these businesses to bring tourists. Thus, you will end up paying ridiculous amounts of money for these items. They all work together as one scamming network and they will lure you into buying things you don’t really need or for ten times the price elsewhere. And they take you to these stores as part of the tour (which is not included in the advertisement). All in all, I would avoid this tour company that hires guides that don’t even speak english in addition to their ignorance of the history and their blatant scamming.

Want to see the Pyramids and Sphinx… absolutely pick this tour!

Peter_H, Dec 2025
My daughter and I had an amazing day, immersed in some of Cairo/Giza’s ancient Egyptian sites. Our guide, Hagar, was knowledgable, thoughtful, and fun, the perfect fit for us and made us comfortable throughout the day. 100% recommend when in Egypt.

Should be named as tour of Carpet shop , Papyrus shop, Spices shop , Perfume shop and garment shop.

Khawar_T, Dec 2025
We wanted to see the great pyramids of Giza and also see the historical sites at Saqara in one day, since we were short of time. We booked a private tour and boy did we regret it. These were the bad experiences we had - 1. We booked a private tour considering it would be convenient for us and wanted a start later in the day since we were tired. However the agency forced us to switch to an earlier time so we can see all the sites before closing time . In reality the sites could have been easily seen if we wouldn’t stop at the numerous retail outlets. 2. I understand tourism industry is based on selling things to guest but stopping at five sites just for coercing us into buying overpriced is a bit too much. That is right we stopped at a carpet shop, spice shop , papyrus shop , perfume shop and garment outlet. None of these were advertised in the itinerary. This agency should be held accountable for not following the itinerary. It’s a private tour please ask us before shoving us into retail stores. 3. Imagine this you are admiring the pyramids and the tour guide it trying to get you to write a review. Being a decent human being we gave them a positive review but seriously it took away from the experience and left a bad aftertaste. 4. Since they wasted so much time on retail activities we had very little time to visit the sphinx and pyramids. The guide Ms Doha though informative made us visit a lot of commercial shops which seriously diluted the experience. 5. The last activity of the tour was the ATV ride around the pyramids. But it doesn’t tell you that the guide will drop you off in at a shoddy shop and leave. We didn’t like the vibes and hence left without trying the quad bike ( despite having paid for the experience ). The positive the tour guide was friendly to talk too and the drive El Ghandy was polite and courteous. But otherwise a Hard pass from me .

Little time on Giza pyramids to drive you to 2 shops

Teresa_D, Dec 2025
The guide seemed to be in a hurry . We saw the Giza pyramids very quickly and then he drove us to a papiro shop and parfum shop . In the tour I booked there was some time in a quad around the pyramids but we didn’t do it . In the step pyramid he explained us a bit in the shade but he didn’t accompany us to see around and we saw others guides doing that .

The pickup was prompt and on schedule. The guide Monir was very patient and knowledgeable. “Made Our Anniversary Truly Special!”

priyanka_m, Nov 2025
From start to finish, our experience was exceptional. The tour was well-organized, smooth, and filled with meaningful moments — but what truly made it unforgettable was our guide, Hager. Hager’s passion for history and culture brought every place to life. Her knowledge was impressive, her storytelling was engaging, and her warm, positive energy made us feel genuinely welcomed. She went above and beyond to make the day special for us, and we’re so grateful for the care and enthusiasm she brought to the experience. As a generous gesture she also bought the cake for our anniversary celebration. The car provided was very clean, comfortable well maintained and driver Saif was a professional gentleman. If you’re considering booking for this tour, I highly recommend Hager — she’s absolutely wonderful and made our trip one we’ll always remember.

Fantastic Day At The Pyramids!

Anne_L, Nov 2025
What an epic day, our tour guide Monir was outstanding, we saw so many bucket list items at Giza, Saqqara and Memphis, he was extremely knowledgable and also superb at navigating us quickly through ticket queues and making sure we were dropped off and picked up as close as possible to each site. And his photography skills are top notch, we’ve got the best pictures of us together at each site that we’d never have managed alone, he knew all the angles and the poses! There was no pressure to do parts of the itinerary we were less keen on, allowing us to spend more time at the parts we really wanted to do (I.e. the pyramid's!) at all times he let us choose what to do next. The comms around the trip for pick up locations etc were great and lunch was tasty too. The trip was great value for money, and a really easy and enjoyable way to see all the main sites, I wish we could do it all again tomorrow!

Amazing tour of the Pyramids!!

Jacqueline_B, Nov 2025
A fantastic tour of the pyramids of Giza and Saqqara. Kyrillos was a wonderful guide with great insights and excellent knowledge of the history of the pyramids and the monuments at Memphis. A highly educational trip finished off with a super fun quad bike ride around the pyramids and a delicious Egyptian lunch. 10/10.

Awesome experience and amazing guide!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Beyond 5 Stars! An Incredible Experience with Anna Our tour with Anna through the Giza Pyramids, the Sphinx, Memphis, and Saqqara was truly the highlight of our entire week-long visit to Egypt. She speaks excellent English, and without question, she was the most knowledgeable, engaging, and passionate Egyptologist we encountered during our trip. From start to finish, we felt completely safe and comfortable, and her ability to translate and communicate on our behalf made everything effortless. Her explanations brought ancient history to life in a way we’ve never experienced on any other tour. We’ve taken many tours through Viator and other agencies over the years, and Anna stands out as the very best guide we’ve ever had. If we had known how exceptional she was, we would have booked every single tour with her! Anna deserves more than 5 stars—she is simply outstanding. Highly, highly recommended!

Fun packed day at the Giza Pyramids, Saqqara, Cairo and the new museum!

Natalie_M, Nov 2025
What an amazing day! I felt like I was in a dream! Jasmine our tour guide was so knowledgeably and helped us cram as much as we possibly could into one day. Our driver Ahmed was kind, calm and patient navigating through the busy roads of Cairo! He too was amazing! By the end of the day we felt like a group of old friends laughing and enjoying our meal that was included in the trip.

Day full of activities!

Marika_N, Nov 2025
We enjoyed this tour a lot! Very convenient in terms of price and logistics, packed with really nice activities (Saqqara, Memphis, Quad Safari were out favorite!), with very nice all-you-can-eat Egyptian lunch. Our guide Jasmine was super sweet, helpful, informative and took really good care of us. And so did the driver Maher. We came back with tones of pictures and having seen so much just and experienced a lot in one day. Definitely recommended :) thank you Jasmine for being such a lovely guide ✨

Exceptional Pyramid Tour with a Fantastic Guide

Laurissa_F, Nov 2025
We had an incredible experience on our pyramid tour today. Our guide, Kyrillos, was outstanding—extremely knowledgeable, engaging, and genuinely passionate about the history of the sites. He made every moment worthwhile, helping us fully appreciate our surroundings while also ensuring we felt safe and comfortable throughout the tour. Our driver was excellent as well, providing a smooth ride in a clean, comfortable, and air-conditioned vehicle, which made the journey between stops very enjoyable. What really set this tour apart was how attentive Kyrillos was to what we wanted to see. He went above and beyond to make sure we didn’t miss anything on our list and tailored the entire experience to match exactly what we were hoping for. His extra effort truly made the day unforgettable. We couldn’t have asked for a better guide or a better experience. Highly recommend!

Great tour!

I had a great private tour with my guide was Abeer. She was very kind, accommodating and informative. She was also a great photographer, which is something that I very much appreciate. Would definitely book another tour with her as I had a great day!

Great value tour overall, I would certainly recommend!

beaderv, Nov 2025
Based on my research into tours of this type, we settled on this one as it seemed to have the most activities for the price and since we expected all tours to be of a similar ilk, this was the best looking from the lot. We started around 8:30am and got back around 5:30pm so I certainly is a full day tour as once the sun is setting, the attractions are closing and you're back just in time for dusk. ATVs were the extracurricular highlight to inject a bit of high octane into your day after lunch but the pyramids of course were the main attraction. We bonus here is the Saqqara pyramid complex to see the Third dynastic construction (first pyramids) and how they compare to their (relatively) contemporary peers. Our guide Mohammed Wagih and our driver also Mohammed saw us through to the end. It's well rehearsed, driver Mohammed would always be ready to pick us up and dash off through the crazy Cairo driving that is an experience in itself. Guide Mohammed was knowledgeable although since we were so rushed with the many places we needed to be, he wasn't able to give us full attention at each attraction. We declined the optional shopping which saved us quite a bit of time as we have been on plenty of these tours before and know the drill so this is a possibility, just say so. Tips are expected at every stage but reserve yours for the guide/driver/ATV operator/Camel herder. Overall I'd recommend this tour, it was definitely action packed and we got much more from it than I thought. Thanks Mohammed x 2, much appreciated 👍🏻

Amazing experience with an amazing guide

Semeli_C, Nov 2025
Our day with Abeer was amazing!! She has so much energy and knowledge to share. She customized the tour to our liking which made our experience much more enjoyable. She was happy to answer all our questions about history and culture always with a smile. Our Mustafa navigated the busy streets of Giza and the rest of the places with safety and great skill. The experiences like the lunch and quad bike were super nice! We totally recommend this tour. And don't be shy to ask for Abeer and Mustafa, they will be happy to guide you!

Incredible historic sites and not-so-incredible souvenir shops

Aaron_N, Nov 2025
I had a good time during the full-day Cairo tour with tour guide Hishek. Saqarra, Memphis, and Giza were fantastic, and Hishek provided meaningful explanations at each site. It was great to travel with a certified guide so that there were no issues with site admission or local vendors trying to hassel you. Hishek also provided advice on tipping local "guides" required at some sites, as well as the camel and ATV operators. The sunset ATV ride across the open desert was much better than expected and definitely worth doing. The only negative about the tour were the additional souvenir stops between the main sites. Some travelers may enjoy seeing local spice shops, perfume shops, carpet shops, and papyrus shops, but I found them too touristy and would rather have spent more time at the major sites. The planned souvenir stops could have been better communicated, especially since the tour was private and not a large group. Overall, I recommend booking this tour. Hishek was a good guide. My only recommendation for improvement is to provide the option to decline the souvenir shops.
