Great Trip and Great Communication from Booking2Egypt

Some background: Solo traveler. I had booked a different trip via Viator but the other vendor selected was terrible at replying back or gave very short responses. Two days before my Egypt trip I cancelled and booked via Viator this trip with Booking2 Egypt per suggestion of Viator representative on the phone. Pros: Communication was excellent; my responses via WhatsApp were responded to in a timely manner. I was provided an itinerary each day as to what my plan was and when I was going to be picked up. Guides also messaged me as well via Whatsapp. Drivers were great. Airport pick ups were organized/great. My cruise was on the Symphony boat which the food was amazing/staff very helpful (in particular the younger front desk reception guy). Guides, for the most part, were very helpful and friendly. There was only one situation where the guide didn't meet me on the boat and the cruise staff (which was excellent) helped me to find my guide/place outside. It's possible because the guide was female she may have not been allowed to board boats ... I don't know (there is an apparent bias against females working in Egypt). Work on/suggestion: 1, Lodging/Cruise options were budgeted for a set amount and 'basic'. Consider "up-selling" customer to better lodging/cruise accommodations if available. I was more than willing to pay more for better lodging/location so let them know you don't want 'basic' lodging or 'basic' cruise accommodations. This didn't ruin my trip but could have made it a little better. 2. Perhaps it was because I booked two days before arrival but detailed, typed out itineraries (on a Google Doc or Word Doc) would be helpful compared to daily Whatsapp briefings (which were helpful ... but kept me waiting/impatient). Good to know about the trip: 1. I am usually a "do it yourself" type person when it comes to travel but it's very important to have guides in Egypt; particularly if you're a solo traveler or female. They get you in/out more quickly and can haggle on your behalf for side trips (i.e. camel rides, gifts, etc.). 2. Be prepared to be harassed by security at the Cairo airport when departing; they were asking a lot of useless questions about my souvenirs purchased and contents in my suitcase (i.e. why do you have shaving cream in your suitcase? Do you have your receipts for souvenirs ? Are you from Israel? ). Finally security gave up and let me proceed but it was sort of unprofessional having to do this two times before checking in my luggage . Perhaps having the driver/guide follow me to security (like I saw some other groups) would be helpful. Wasn't aware that "tipping" is apparently normal to security professionals at the airport hence why I was likely screened more (along with being from the USA). Overall, great experience and company to enjoy your Egypt travels .
