Tour was what I expected. Saw the major rock formations and was able to see whales. The pilot was great and the guide was able to answer most everything. English was not fluent but our photographer filled in anything we didn’t understand. Would recommend this tour.

It was so much fun, a beautiful experience. The guide translated everything and allowed us to take off our vest for the picture in the arch, we were lucky enough to see whales and dolphins. At the end of the trip they offered to drop us off at a beach of our preference and then they’d come back for us. They were very kind.

    A fun excursion!

    Janie_A, Mar 2026
Great experience! Staff worked very hard to find the few whales that were out there. Very conscientious about life vests. Dropped us off at a suitable beach for the kids and picked us up pretty promptly after 1 1/2 hrs. It was rough water as we were very far from land and they do not provide any drinking water. Bring your own snacks and wear sandals to wade through water to the beach. Hoped to see more than 4 whale sightings, but it was still a fun excursion.

The check in point was a tv table and a small sign. We ran out of gas 2x on this excursion. Had to wait in the ocean for someone to bring us gas. The fumes were terrible! Our guide gave the Spanish speaking people the attention. He barely spoke to us.

    Great way to watch whales

    Danayit_R, Mar 2026
Our whale watching excursion was absolutely incredible from start to finish. The captain and his assistant were fantastic hosts; friendly, engaging, and clearly passionate about what they do. They kept the energy fun by playing music, chatting with us, and answering all of our questions along the way. What really stood out was how dedicated they were to making sure we had a great experience. They worked hard to locate the whales and made sure everyone had a chance to see them clearly. And it paid off: we saw whales multiple times during the trip, which was truly amazing and unforgettable. The whole experience felt exciting, and very well organized. If you’re thinking about going whale watching, I highly recommend this excursion. It was absolutely worth it and easily one of the highlights of our trip.

    Great times in Cabo

It was a great experience. We enjoyed the water taxi and seeing glimpses of whales. The beach was beautiful and relaxing.

    What a Whale of experience

    Pedro_L, Feb 2026
The crew was friendly and accommodating. They were right on time. Offered as many good opportunities to take pictures. They were nice enough to give us to go the beach or back to the marina. They made sure to all the safety precautions.

Fun but wouldn't do it again

    Neil_G, Feb 2026
We were in Cabo for only 5 hours from a cruise and booked this because it fit the schedule. Overall it's well organized and moves quickly, although we were in a group that was mostly Spanish speakers so little English was spoken. However when we arrived in Port, we were mobbed by vendors offering the same tour for cheaper and with other options.

    Poor Customer Service

    Charo_D, Feb 2026
I booked a 2.5‑hour whale watching and Arch tour in Cabo San Lucas, and this company completely failed to deliver even the basics of good customer service. Yes, we arrived about 15 minutes late due to the ship’s tender running behind—something completely out of our control—but instead of showing any flexibility or understanding, the staff offered zero reimbursement and no partial refund of any kind. They did give us the option of a much shorter 45‑minute Arch tour, which we took, but it was nowhere near the experience we paid for. Any reputable excursion company would offer at least a partial credit or a gesture of goodwill, especially when the delay was caused by something as common as cruise tender timing. On top of that, this company was very difficult to find. Their “office” was literally just a tiny desk sitting next to the Surfs art piece—no signage, no clear directions, nothing. We wasted valuable time just trying to locate them. Overall, the customer service was the worst I’ve experienced on any excursion. If you’re visiting Cabo, do NOT book with this company. There are plenty of other tour providers who actually care about their customers and stand behind what they promise.

    Lots of Whales

    Tammy_I, Feb 2026
We had a wonderful whale watching tour and saw several whales. One of them, even breached for us. In the description it said we were going to have a 45 minute walk through Sea of Cortez.... we did not have a walking tour, but our guide did talk about Sea of Cortez on the boat. Also to note was that the description said to meet at Gregory Tours. It was just a small table located by the "El Arte Surf". Another highlight was that the guide took our pictures at the famous Arch on both our own camera and their camera, but there was not pressure to buy their photos, unless you wanted. Overall would highly recommend this tour.

    Beautiful Tour

Great value and experience. Easily found meeting point at the Cabo San Lucas Marina. View of the Window to the Pacific rock formation and clear blue water were beautiful. Lots of whale encounters along the way.

It was amazing, we saw a number of whales fairly close up. We stayed in the area longer than the stated 20 minutes and was greatly rewarded.

    Zero Stars if possible

    Thomas_F, Dec 2025
Totally unprofessional…..we checked in well before the suggested time. Tour was to start at 2 pm, at 2:15, we were told our boat was still “on the way.” Excursion advertised as 3.5 hours, crew indicated we were going on a 45 minute trip. When I I tried to get clarification and showed him the original ad, he got very flustered that we were signed up to go whale watching AND visit a beach. He insisted that the beach was closed. When I asked for our money back, he called his manager to handle me. Manager back-tracked, and said that the 3.5 was an “estimate,” but beach and whale-watching would definitely happen. At 2:20, we finally boarded the boat, and after a scramble to find life jackets for everyone, we left for our cruise to the arch. The 3-man crew had absolutely no sense of who was whale watching, who was going ashore at various beaches, or who might want to return after 45 minutes to the dock. None of them spoke English; non-Spanish speakers had to rely on other guests who happened to be bi-lingual. Once we got out on the water, it became clear that the guests had to decide to either go to a beach OR go whale watching; you couldn’t do both. When it became clear the only way to get to the beach was to jump off the side of the boat in waist deep water, we stayed in the boat. None of this was communicated through the trip details. It was also frustrating to find out that the whale season doesn’t really start for another 2 weeks. We spent more time loading and unloading people from the beach than we spent cruising looking for non-existent whales. We booked through Viator because we’d had positive experiences previously on a trip to New Zealand. This gave us an expectation that Viator vetted the vendors they advertised. I would certainly not continue to endorse any tours by Gregory Tours in Cabo. It was a total waste of money.

    Response from Host, Dec 2025

Hello Thomas, We are truly sorry to hear that your experience did not meet your expectations. We appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback, as it helps us continue improving our service. We would like to clarify that whale season does begin in early December, and in fact, we have already had several sightings in the days surrounding your tour date, as many recent visitors have also mentioned. Whale activity can vary from day to day —they are wild animals— but our captains always do their best to locate them. Regarding the logistics of the tour, please note that the 3.5-hour duration is an estimated average, as it depends on sea conditions, marine traffic, and the dynamics of each group. Our goal is always to provide the best possible experience, whether it is whale watching or visiting Lover’s Beach. When the port authority issues safety-related beach closures, we are obligated to comply immediately, as customer safety always comes first. We appreciate your understanding and are sorry that this particular day was not ideal for you. We would be happy to assist you directly to ensure a better experience on a future visit. Thank you again for your feedback and for helping us continue to improve. Kind regards,

    Humpback whales!

Beautiful boat tour! The guides stayed out until we had a wonderful bucket list experience with the humpback whales! The tour around the rock formations was beautiful as well. Great experience. Highly recommend!

    Amazing whale watching!...

Amazing whale watching! The tour guide Rigo and the photographer Leo were very friendly. Rigo was knowledgeable and witty. He followed whales and let us capture them swimming in our camera quick! Thank you for giving us unforgettable experience.

    Whale watching and Cabo arch

    Laurel_R, Mar 2025
Great tour. Easy to find our guides were friendly and showed us all the landmarks. We were able to stop and they took photos for us. We saw several whales which was amazing. Great trip for the price. They will drop you at one of the beaches if you want and then return and pick you up.

    Great time

    Julie_E, Feb 2025
Horge and eric were great had a great time and saw lots of Whale's. They also recommended a great beach for snorkeling with lots of tropical fish and sea lions.

    No mas

    Angela_M, Feb 2025
Not really like the other tours. The guide sped by all the landmarks without even stopping for photo opportunities or even pointing them out. We saw a whale but the captain was more focused on getting his music to play and being on his phone so while all the other boats followed and those tourists got beautiful photos of the whale breaching the water we were miles away. He also was smoking cigarettes gross. Not recommended. Take Penguin tours. Much much better experience.

    Great Day Trip!

    Jenny_R, Jan 2025
We had a great time on this tour. Our captain was a lot of fun, and a photographer from a partner joined as well to take optional to purchase photos after. We lucked out and saw some great whale action! The captain did a great job getting us out to see the whales. Afterward, we went and took photos at the arch. We were able to take our own personal photos in addition to the professional photos which was nice. After, you get to pick a beach to stay and hang out at for a couple of hours (make sure to ask for this if you do want to do it). I'd recommend bringing a cooler of snacks and drinks for the day trip - come prepared! Lots of vendors selling overpriced options on the beaches of course but can be a fun trip if you come prepared. Saw lot of cool fish and animals on the trip! Was great for our family.

    Fantastic Experience

    Michael_L, Jan 2025
This was an amazing experience. Initially I worried because the boat was small but with the calm calm early morning waters the smaller boat added to the wonder. Hector took some amazing photos and Santiago was a great captain who made it possible to see many whales.

    Tour not as advertised

    Daniel_W, Dec 2024
Tour was not quite what was advertised. The trip was an hour and half short of the provided itinerary. We boated straight to the whales and back to the marina. Speeding by the arch both ways. The whales showed up and the watching was great. Boat trip was awkward. The captain never said a word.

    Response from Host, Dec 2024

We are deeply sorry about the situation you experienced during your tour. You may not have mentioned to us your interest in going to a beach or doing any additional activities, which would explain the shortened tour. However, there was always the option to enjoy a beach and stay a little longer to relax. We would have loved for you to have had a completely satisfactory experience and of course for you to have given us a 5-star rating. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this has caused. We greatly appreciate your feedback and look forward to providing you with a much more positive experience in the future.
