This experience was SO fun! The service was excellent, and the food was delicious! We made homemade tortillas, empanadas, and ceviche. The dinner (pork) was so tender, it fell off the bone. I highly recommend!

Had a great time...educational as well as a lot of fun preparing the food. The food and drinks were amazing. Very well organized. We met a fun couple from Dallas and we all bonded as a team well.

We absolutely loved this cooking class! It was the perfect mix of hands-on and relaxing. We got to participate in preparing an incredible meal without having to chop every single ingredient or stand over a hot stove the whole time, which we really appreciated. The staff was warm, engaging, and made the whole experience so much fun from start to finish. The drinks were flowing, the food was delicious, and the vibe was just right for our group. Highly recommend this experience to anyone visiting Cabo. We would definitely do it again!

Perfect blend of cooking a little and relaxing. We didn't make all the courses but that was just fine with us. Highly recommend!

The cooking class is not designed to be able to replicate at home. They charge for extras and seemed in a rush

3 is for the ambiance, Jacob the waiter, and the bartender apparently being a good chef doesn’t require people skills or patience considering it was a cooking class where we came to LEARN, I would have rather watched a cooking demonstration without being hands on then to be criticized and critique for minor things that as someone who has never cooked the dishes before could run into , then the fact that the chef stood around the table area waiting on tip and survey after the truly poor service from him was very amusing because you would have thought that if he was interested in a tip his customer service would have been a hell of a lot better, needless to say the restaurant itself was really nice the cooking class not so much

Well done, not enough personal cooking

It was burial restaurant and the food was awesome, staff too. I rated it this Way because while we got the recipies we did not cook the entire meal. Mai and dessert was just part of thier menu. I thought we would cook all.

    Excellent!!!

Some of the best food I've had. I am really picky about my food, if I don't like it eon't eat it. I wish there was more room in my stomach to taste everything. Roberto gave a tour of the garden and history of Metate. I didn't realize it was a Michelin star restaurant til we got there. Reasonably priced especially for the quality of food. Will defintely come back and recommemding it to friends.

Excellent Teaching Class for Real Authentication Food

    Carli_S, Feb 2026
This class was so much fun and the food was excellent. They started out with a traditional cocktail and then took us to their herb garden and explained how the food was grown and what each spice did. After we went and made drinks and they taught us how to make a cocktail. Then we went and made ceviche. It was incredible. Not fishy at all. They taught us how to make tortillas and we made empanadas. Following that we ate them. Then had our final course which was delicious. They were mindful of peoples food and preferences. My husband doesn’t drink and they even had drinks for him. The evening was followed up by Mexican flan that was amazing. We highly recommend this experience.

Wonderful class, Took us around the farm before cooking classic dishes. Got to learn how to make drinks as well

    No fun.

    Melinda_S, Feb 2026
The “chef” arrived late. Treated us like we were bad employees he dislikes. He clearly wasn’t ready for the tour so he kept disappearing to get things for several minutes then returned to show us how to dice tomatoes (chef disappears), onions (disappear) and cucumbers (disappear) all while berating our salad chopping skills. The tour was so bad, it was funny. The restaurant was fun and quirky. Stop by the restaurant, skip the tour.

A fun and informative experience. The food was great and we plan to go back to Metate next year when we visit.

An experience of attentive staff, knowledgeable and accommodating. Drinks and appetizers were part of the fun interactive activity. Well worth the price that included drinks, food and dessert! Gracias Robert & Job!

The cooking class was great. Totally going to make my own corn tortillas at home from now on! What a fun way to spend an evening in a lovely setting.

Excellent tour of farm to table ingredients, pedigree and execution. Very knowledgeable chef and excellent food. This restaurant is going to climb it's way to Michelin stars. Lovely staff and personal service.

Highly recommend this place and experience

    KIM_V, Jan 2026
Roberto was great and the location magical! We enjoyed ourselves very much. had fun and the food sublime!

Go for the menu, not the class.

    Jeffrey_S, Jan 2026
Beautiful place, great food. While the cooking class was nice, it took about 3 hours. It would be fun with a group of friends. Not the best cooking class we have taken and I would suggest you make reservations and let them do the cooking as the food that was being served off the menu looked great. Our chef was nice but he spoke rapid fire English and our group was just too large and most of the time we could not hear him. Instead, go for a great dining experience and not the “cooking” experience. You’ll spend just about the same amount of $$$ and be less frustrated.

    Great Mexican Cooking Class!

    Gary_C, Jan 2026
The chef was outstanding, he took his time to explain all the elements of our dinner. We especially loved making our own cocktails!

We were two families who had a blast. Staff was good with my daughters fish allergies. Would do again.

    Great family experience.

    Greg_P, Jan 2026
We had a great experience learning about authentic Mexican cuisine with Chef Sue. Educational walk through the garden learning about different herbs, vegetables, and fruit grown on the property that are used in the different dishes that we helped prepare. Most everything in the class was semi pre-prepared so the cooking part is only mildly hands on but was still a lot of fun. If you are looking for an high level, hands on, cooking class, this is not that but is very well suited for all levels. Everything was absolutely delicious! I would definitely recommend this for a fun family and friend’s kind of activity. Not just a typical dinner out.

Great overview of mexican cuisine at a Michelin restaurant, worthy of its stars. Chef was able to make it an enjoyable experience, and immersive one, especially for a large group. Would recommend microphone to simplify logistics for future groups .

Not a cooking class - you won’t cook anything

    Lissa_S, Jan 2026
This is not a cooking class- its a mildly interesting presentation of ingredients and dishes that the restaurant makes.

You get a nice little tour of the restaurant and its garden. Then you make a drink and your appetizer. Food is great! Atmosphere is amazing

The cooking class was so much fun! And there was a tour of the property, which is beautiful. The food was extraordinary.

    Such a fun experience

    Stephanie_W, Dec 2025
The evening started by being greeted by the friendly staff. There was a sign with each of the attendees names. We were given a hibiscus drink to start. The evening started with Roberto, our chef who took us on a tour of the restaurant which is outdoors and is decorated beautifully. Roberto walked us to an area to give us a little taste of Mexican history( notable musicians, movie/comedy stars, Mexican pottery etc.). We took a tour of the gardens, Roberto explained about each of the various plants and herbs that are grown and used in preparing the recipes for the restaurant. We walked to the bar for a Mixology class. We learned how to make fresh tortillas , shrimp ceviche, empanadas., a fish taco for appetizers. Our main course consisted of a generous portion of braised pork shank homemade blue corn tortillas and everything needed to make our own tacos. The evening ended with flan which was absolutely delicious! I don’t normally care for flan,, but this was amazing! Thank you to Roberto and all the staff for a wonderful experience!!

    Frank_M, Dec 2025
Washed our hands more than we cooked only made empanada shell filling was already made. Main course of pork shank was not prepared by the class as well as desert.

    Great Food, worth the stop.

    Nicholas_C, Dec 2025
