Super informative and entertaining. Mexican Johnny Cash was our host and he was great. Tequila and Mezcal were great but the dessert shots were amazing. Fun food pairings….even crickets. Totally worth it! Had a blast.

What To Expect

Your private Tequila and mezcal experience will begin at a tasting room in central Cabo San Lucas, walking distance from top shopping and hotel areas. (That means there's no need to drive, either before or after the tasting.)

You’ll taste six varieties of handmade Tequila and three kinds of mezcal, with an dedicated tasting guide to explain the process and traditions behind each thing you taste. Each artisanal drink will be paired with snacks such as dark chocolate, agave heart, meat, shrimp, cheese, and—for a uniquely Mexican experience—grasshoppers.

Unlike big-group tasting tours, this experience ensures a personalized experience curated by a private guide. That translates to an in-depth introduction to two famed Mexican spirits.

This was my second visit and both times, Luis was our presenter. Luis is extremely knowledgeable with a deep understanding of tequilas and mescal and the company's products are very unique and not available commercially. The tasting was in a small private room for the six of us and included over a dozen samples, some with food pairing. I would highly recommend the tour to anyone interested in learning more about tequilas and mescals and I would do it again for a third time.

Every tequilla imaginable!

I would have easily rate it 5 stars, except for the 30 minute presentation at the beginning, which nearly put me to sleep with "demasiado" details about Mexican geography and history of tequilla. But when we finally got to the tasting, it was absolutely awsome! We were offered at least 10 different tequillas (some paired with food tasting), ranging from Blanco, Reposada, Anejo, and several versionsl of Mezcal. Needless to say, we left very happy and with some very fine tequilla!

Great history lesson (not too long) and unlike other tastings, food pairings to bring out the tequila flavors. If you are partial to other spirits like mezcal, mention it and you may get an added bonus tasting.

Our guide Juan was clear, knowledgeable and fun. His enthusiasm for mezcal and tequila came through with strong cultural support. We learned better ways to appreciate the flavors and avoid the burn through proper methods of tasting. Learning the different methods of production and kinds of agave made the appreciation of good tequila and mezcals easier. This is a good way to spend a relatively short time for a small fee, rest and learn, and sample four basic types of tequila and several types of mezcal to learn the differences, why they occur, and how to drink each with maximum enjoyment. Highly recommended. Not just a way to do shots of good liquor, but an educational experience.

We ended up having a private tasting experience with Juan Andres and it was such a special experience. He is extremely knowledgeable of the history of tequila and mezcal, and his passion for these Mexican and indigenous traditions shines through as he guides you through the who, how, and why they are made. For us, at least, this was not a drinking experience, but a deep dive into the rich history and culture of Mexico, with the tequila and mezcal as our liquid guides. Juan Andres seamlessly interweaved his expertise with his personal philosophy, which made it such a richer experience. Please don't skip this masterclass in Mexico's spirits if you're visiting Cabo.
