Claudia and Diane both were excellent and very friendly guides and teachers. I did two rides with my daughter. Me: zero riding experience; my daughter with a bit of experience. We rode along the shore and partially on the beach where my daughter enjoyed also riding at higher velocity. The landscape is rather rough, cliffy and wild. A true Atlantic experience. The stable is located up in the village and not spectacular. However, Claudia and her team host several very well educated horses there, alongside several friendly dogs, cats and a mini pony. We loved it.

This is a fantastic riding experience. Diana our guide was brilliant. She matched us really well with our horses and got the balance between safety and allowing us to ride just right. The horses are excellent, responsive and safe. I’m a nervous rider after a serious accident a few years ago and this ride reminded me of why I used to enjoy riding. Thoroughly recommend this experience.

Wonderful adventure

What a wonderful addition to my trip! We rode beautiful Frisian horses on the beach, wandered a bit through the country side. I was confused by the location but the barn is right there! Hidden from the rode, a small driveway and the VianoEquestre sign is on the block fence. Claudia is quite the horsewoman! Very knowledgeable, professional and fun! Thank you! Our guide, Claudia, made this ride the trip of a lifetime. I genuinely felt like I was in.a dream. The horses are beautiful and well looked after and the ride is even more beautiful! I hope I am fortunate enough to come back and ride again! This is a must do if you are ever able to be here!

This tour was completely incorrect in its description, no transportation to or from the farm. No beach riding for any of the warm months. Was basically I walk on hard surfaces. Very disappointed.

The ride was wonderfull with nice horses and a lovely guide. But there was no transport and there was nobody at the pick-up place and I still dont no why this happend. The place was 10 minutes away from there but it was stressfull all together in the beginning.

It was a beautiful ride. The guides were very skilled horsewomen and did an excellent job of pairing the riders with horses that matched their skill level. All of the horses were obviously well cared for. They put the safety of the riders and horses as the highest priority.

Riding on the beach on a Lusitano. Beautiful day and I loved Bianca. Got to trot and canter. The guide spoke excellent English and always made sure everyone felt safe and was having fun. Highly recommend!!!

Horse-back riding

Horseback riding was very nice. You are not riding on the actual sandy beach (like pictured) but it’s a trail by the beach with good views of the ocean. The instructor was very nice and helpful. However they “forgot” to pick us up at 8:45am as they were supposed to. I paid $770 for 4 people. I waiting 45 minutes for our car ride to the stables and they never showed up. I had to have the hotel order us a taxi to get there, which Viator paid for but it was an inconvenience and the customer service refused to offer any kind of partial refund or credit. I will unfortunately not use Viator in the future due to this incident and lacking kind customer service.

My husband and I did this horseback riding tour with Portugal Active in May 2022, and loved it so much we came back again in March 2023. This time, we were a group of 5 adults: one experienced rider, one advanced beginner, and three who have never before been on a horse. Jorge and Andrés were our drivers; punctual, communicative, kind, and informative. Our riders were Carolina and Mariana, who are both highly skilled equestrians. They did an excellent job of keeping our group of all abilities comfortable and safe. The beach is gorgeous, the scenery stunning, and the ride was one of the best experiences of our trip. The horses are verifiable SAINTS: for anyone who may be nervous about riding, have no fear. I've been around horses for over two decades, and truly have never seen horses better behaved and more responsible than these.

It was absolutely amazing! My husband is a beginner and Claudia helped him feel comfortable on the horse. They provided us with chaps and helmets, and the horses were well suited for the trail ride. Stunning views, gorgeous beaches, great horses and informative guides - - what more can you ask for? It totally exceeded my expectations. If you at all were considering this 3 hour experience, I highly recommend it.
