Itinerary

Your tour begins with pickup from your Beijing hotel at a time of your choosing (typically between 8am - 8.30am). Traveling by private vehicle, head straight to the first stop of the day - Tiananmen Square, right in the heart of Beijing.

Jump out to walk around the vast public space, the largest city square in the world, with space for up to one million people. As you stroll around the grand square, learn more about its importance throughout history and hear about the many significant political events that have taken place there over the years.

Continue on foot to the Forbidden City, once the epicenter of the Imperial City and the largest ancient palace complex in the world. Follow your guide on a walking tour of the UNESCO World Heritage site, admiring the palatial buildings and cultural relics that date back to the Ming and Qing dynasties.

After visiting the Forbidden City, set out on the around 1.5-hour journey to the Mutianyu Great Wall.

On arrival at Mutianyu, listen as your guide offers some background information about the famous wall — a UNESCO World Heritage site and one of the Seven Wonders of the World — then enjoy around 2 hours to explore. Choose to ride the chairlift to Tower 6, returning by toboggan, or take the cable car to Tower 14 (recommended for those nervous of heights), and walk along part of the wall, taking in the spectacular views.

On the way back to Beijing, enjoy a short photo stop at the Olympic stadium, where the 2008 Olympics were held, then finish your tour with drop-off at your hotel around 5pm (depending on pickup time).

Outstanding Tour!

What a fantastic tour! Our guide Jenny was just outstanding. We can’t thank her enough for making our day so delightful and informative. It’s a very full day and well worth having the individualized attention that you are given. We highly recommend this tour!!

Amazing tour with April

Helena_M, Jan 2020
We had an incredible tour with April. I was worried that visiting both the Forbidden City and Great Wall of China in one day might be too much and perhaps too rushed given the distance. Nevertheless, due to the low season, there were hardly any queues or tourist crowds, and we spent a wonderful time walking around the imperial city and later on Mutianyu Great Wall. April was very friendly, engaging and extremely knowledgeable about the sites we visited. I travelled with my 10yo daughter and April made the tour very interesting also for her and answered all of her questions in a very attentive way. This tour exceeded our expectations, and we highly recommend April!

Awesome Experience!

Felix_C, Oct 2019
This was an excellent tour to see the three major points of interest in Beijing. Our tour guide, Susan, was excellent! Our tour guide was very friendly, knowledgeable, and had excellent English. I been to many tours around the world and this one was one of the best ones I have been on. Having the private tour was well worth the premium over group tours. Our driver would drop us off close to the point of interest and would be waiting to pick us up. The Great Wall at Mutianyu is a great place to see the wall. We were in Beijing for only 48 hours, and this tour was the highlight of the trip.

I booked the one-day private Beijing...

I booked the one-day private Beijing tour that included Tianemen Square, the Forbidden City and the Great Wall. Barry was my guide and Henry was the driver. They were awesome! Very knowledgeable and friendly. The tour moved at my pace, and Barry took the pics of me in front of the coolest spots. This guy is quite the photographer! It was a great day we had a great lunch and they even taught me how to bargain for my souvenirs. I would recommend a private tour anytime over the whole cattle car tourist bus. And I would definitely recommend Barry and Henry!

Highly recommend this tour for anyone who is pressed for time. I only had 36 hours in Beijing during and overnight layover on a business trip. Had it not been for this tour, it wouldn't have been possible. I was able to not only hit all the major attractions but learn about them as well. My tour guide was fantastic! She was prompt and made it an incredible experience. The Forbidden City was also such a terrific place. The history, the beauty, the tradition, all very surreal, and worthwhile. Highlight of course is the Great Wall, which we took a chair lift up and toboggan down!! Amazing views from the top but walking the wall is not for the unfit. It surely is challenging and my guide was there every step of the way and climbing alongside. It's not everyday you get to cross out a 7th Wonder of the World off your bucket list, you don't want to miss this.
