We had a wonderful time going to different places. One thing I love the most was hiking in the snow to see Peyto Lake. The Columbia Icefield tour was also great.Arun was an excellent tour guide. He made sure that we had our safety gears before hiking. He's courteous and knowledgeable. We appreciate Arun for making our vacation more fun and memorable.

It was a once in a lifetime experience! Do it! Their fleet of 21 trucks are specialized and only exist for public at this experience. We tried glacier water and filled a water bottle! We experienced rain and sunshine during our tour. The weather changed so quickly! It was really cool!

Climb aboard a specialized ice explorer, an enormous, rugged vehicle built to handle the glacial terrain. As you travel through the largest icefield in the Canadian Rockies, listen to your guide's informative commentary. Pass sights such as the Weeping Wall, Crowfoot Glacier, Peyto Lake, and Bow Lake on what is widely considered one of Canada's most scenic drives.
At the Athabasca Glacier, hop out and walk along the glacier, where you can even fill up your water bottle with pure, pristine snowmelt.
On the return trip, stop at the Glacier Skywalk for refreshments and walk along the glass-bottom walkway out over the cliff's edge. Then, back to the ice explorer for the final drive back to the Discovery Centre.

Perfect experience!

Radhika_V, Jul 2026
This was such an amazing experience I got to share with my family! Everyone was so knowledgeable and educated us in so many ways and my favorite part was riding in the ice explorers! Highly, highly recommend!

BOOK the tour!!!

Diana_D, Jul 2026
BOOK IT!!! It was the most amazing, unique experience! There are only a few places in the world where you can drive onto a glacier and this is one of them! The ice explorer vehicle was so unique! Went a whooping 10mph and had 5’ tires!! My kids had a blast! Walking out onto the glacier was amazing! My husband did a cold face plunge and my kids felt how cold the water was! A once in a lifetime experience!

Parking is awful get there an hour early

billy_h, Jul 2026
The parking situation is a train wreck. It’s took us 35 minutes to find a spot and missed our booked time. We were only able to see the bridge and had to miss seeing the ice field.

They STOLE my Money

Joshua_J, Jul 2026
Stole my money. I booked this trip on July 4th at 2:50 PM in Montreal for 2:15 on July 5th. They charged me for the 2:15 PM trip in July 4th. They stole my money. I did t receive a response to emails or virtual agent correspondence. Was left on hold for over an hour when I called and then line wa disconnected. This is a sham. I would give zero stars if possible

Once in a lifetime experience!

Tony_G, Jul 2026
It was a beautiful drive getting to the Icefields, and it was sort of a once in a life time experience to be standing on top of a glacier where it all starts.

Rainy day - but still fun!

Carol_M, Jun 2026
It was a cold and rainy day….but the rain stopped just before our tour. Logan was an excellent guide and we enjoyed it immensely. It was a bit slippery on the glacier - wear good traction. Overall it was a lovely 2 1/2 hours on a rainy day.

An Extraordinary Adventure

Chuck_N, Jun 2026
Almost an other worldly experience. There is really nothing like this voyage anywhere else. Chris did a superb job. His story is so worth telling and really drives home need to protect these natural resources, the ice fields.

🏔️ Once in a lifetime Glacier WALKortunity! Dress warmly or have an extra layer handy!

It’s one time Event to experience!!

Mehboob_L, Jun 2026
Basically it’s 2 hours tour. One hour passes by in boarding and re boarding 4 different buses. For first activity “ walking on the glacier snow, you get maximum 20 minutes, for second activity “ skywalk on glass surface “ 40 minutes is more than enough, though there is no time limit, you can stay as long as you like !!

Columbia glacier/Skywalk experiences

Jennifer_S, Jun 2026
Plan on an extra 15 mins or so to find parking in the lot. It’s a popular experience, and so worth the drive! The mountains, valleys, waterfalls and lakes to and from the Columbia building are AWEsome! Both the glacier experience and the skywalk are incredible!

World at your feet!!

Juhi_S, Jun 2026
This was an amazing experience. It did not feel like you were going to fall. The bus services were amazing. You could spend as much or as little time on the Skywalk and still return on a bus back to base. Tip: try to go on the earliest trip, to avoid a crowd gathering on the skywalk.

Great Experience and alot of information that was interesting. We enjoyed the ride up to the Glacier!

The ice explorer that you...

Christa_S, Jun 2026
The ice explorer that you ride in is only used in one other place in New Zealand. Going down the 30 degree grade to get to the glacier is wild. With the glacier shrinking quickly now is the time to go. The pictures of the glacier up close are awesome. We also went on the skywalk which is really beautiful! It’s surreal to look through the glass hundreds of feet down. The drive to the Columbia ice field offers spectacular views.

Slightly overrated.

Carole_L, Jun 2026
The drive up to the icefields was the biggest highlight. Beautiful scenery. The glacier, itself is slightly overrated. The amount of space you can walk on is very limited. The skywalk is amazing if you like heights. We did go on a cloudy day. If the sun were out, the glacier sights would have been better.

Columbia Icefields/Skywalk Tour

Daniel_B, Jun 2026
The trip to the Athabasca Glacier and the Skywalk are well worth the cost and a much better experience than I thought it would be. I Travelled to the icefields back in the 80s and didn't think it would be worthwhile to go again. The only reason we went was because we had family with us from California that wanted to go. (I am an Alberta native) I'm glad they asked to go to the icefields as it was a neat experience and the Skywalk is way better than it looks like from the highway.

Do it! So much fun!

A great adventure onto the glacier - we went at the end of May and it snowed! Our guide Logan was excellent and made the whole experience fun and informative (Jennifer your son did good) The skywalk was great too - walking in the glass floor was amazing. An excellent way to spend 3 hours on the way to Jasper from Banff.

Amazing experience, bring extra socks or some snacks. Go to bathroom beforehand too as it maybe be a bit before you get to use one again. Overall, would definitely recommend!

Very good guide

Guide Sanjeev is very informative about importance of specific location, patient. Ultimately this tour remains one of the best tour we had in the past.

Columbia Icefield

STEPHEN_C, May 2026
It takes 2.5 hours to do both activities, longer for small groups. Well worth the money for a unique experience.

Glacier tour

Sueda_L, May 2026
Walking on the Athabasca Glacier brought tears of genuine awe. The tour was very well organized and managed so there were never too many people there at once. It was a terrific experience.

Do your research

Lisa_M, May 2026
I was very anxious about the experience. While the staff were friendly and tried to help, we received very conflicting information about the timing of the excursion and what to really expect. It was very disappointing that we were not able to complete the excursion and there was no offer of a refund. The Skywalk was also completely over hyped. It was not a breathtaking vista at all and not really worth the time or money spent. I do think the staff were all very friendly, but again - we got conflicting information that did nothing to make this uneasy guest feel secure. It’s an awfully long trip to get there, so it’s best to do some research and make sure you know what you’re signing up for.

Fabulous Experience

Julie_R, May 2026
We arrived ahead of our tour time, check in was quick and efficient. Then the trip began with a short bus tour to the Icefield Explorer where we met Mitch our driver, he was professional, very knowledgeable with good sense of humour making the journey fun. Standing on the Glacier was a wow factor such an experience. We then travelled to the Sky Walk and wow breathtaking views and a fabulous experience. All staff we interacted with were helpful and friendly. A great tour highly recommended - thank you
