The views were spectacular!! The facilities at the top were lovely. It was a special touch to provide marshmallows to toast on fire pit for free.

Such a cool experience! So much to see once you reach the top! Wear your tennis shoes or hiking boots to walk the trail!
Ryan_M, May 2026
Amazing view and spectacular setting!! Photos galore, nice walking path (nice wooden steps), two beautiful restaurants (separate booking and costs of course). Can get windy up there but 100% worth it, has some indoor seating as well to take a look and soak in the beauty

The Viator works with pursuit for this experience, but there was no benefit of booking this way as we still had to stand in a regular Q to exchange, up at the mountain also there was no different experience

Dress in layers. There are stairs but many rest areas. Food and beverages at top of Gondola. A destination wedding spot.

Lovely ride to the top. Great views. Not as cold as i thought it would be. We arrived early and were accomodated on arrival.

An amazing way to be up “in the mountains” . The wildlife is lovely - we saw elk and goats. The boardwalk is a great way to get different views of the city and the mountains.

Lines can be long but it’s so worth it. Spectacular vistas, a super nice facility…and the short movie they showed was excellent.
We saw big horn sheep, too!

Stunning views of the mountains and town of Banff. The gondola ride is incredible and the views from the mountain are unmatched! The food at Northern Lights was great and there’s the cutest gift shop. Definitely pack a jacket and wear good shoes for walking the trail!

The Banff Gondola is an absolute must‑do. The eight‑minute ride up Sulphur Mountain delivers huge views before you even reach the summit, and once you step out, the panorama is extraordinary. We loved the boardwalk to Sanson Peak and the historic weather station, but the little touches made it special — marshmallows by the fire pits, friendly staff, and a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere. Parking is free with a standard Parks Canada pass, which makes the whole experience even easier. After a trip full of mountain viewpoints, this still stood out as one of the best.

The gondola ride was amazing and allowed you to see the breath-taking views. The walk at the summit was beautiful and so peaceful and calming. The food at Northern Alpine restaurant was amazing, service was amazing and the view was stunning.

Easy to find the bus and get to the gondola.
Once at the gondola, we exchanged our vouchers for tickets, everyone helpful, no problems.
Wonderful views at the top, we walked the boardwalk, which was easy.
Brilliant day

The view is breathtaking, and I highly recommend visiting Banff if you’re traveling there. The transportation system is also quite easy to navigate.

My tour was cancelled 24 hours prior to my Gondola tour. I asked to only switch the date of my Gondola tour as my other Viator tour was cancelled with less than 24 hours. Viator repeatedly refused to change the date nor refund my money. I will never use Viator again; HORRIBLE COMPANY!!!
Patty_W, May 2026
We didn’t get to go because of the weather. We were not prepared for the drops in temps and did not bring heavy winter gear so we couldn’t go.
Carra_B, May 2026
Very smooth ride to the top of the mountain the staff was excellent and upbeat plus very efficient, was able to board a few minutes early! Mother Nature didn’t cooperate but none the less a great experience!
TeresaK_H, May 2026
When we woke up it was snowing and grey , but we made our way to the gondola thinking we would change our tickets for another day . But once there the sun came out and by the time we reached the top we were able to view Banff totally . The weather changed so much whilst we were there it was untrue but we gave some fabulous photos . The staff were wonderful always willing to share information.

Fantastic experience and well worth the money. The views are spectacular and the all you can eat buffet lunch was also fantastic.
Kerri_H, May 2026
Easy to book on line with a time that works. No hassle when we arrived. The gondola is a must see attraction in Banff

JANICE_J, May 2026
Smooth ride with great scenery. The walk to the weather station is doable and rewarding. Definitely recommend.
Elaine_O, May 2026
A lovely ride up the mountain. As you would expect, great views from the top. A lovely cafe restaurant to spend a little more time enjoying the scenery. We thought it was very well priced. One of the options is an ‘all you can eat buffet’ for 45 Canadian dollars, about £24.
Michelle_L, May 2026
Enjoyed my experience. The views were amazing. Would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting the area.
Melissa_I, May 2026
