What To Expect
Head to the Banff Gondola any time during its normal hours of operation to begin your ride. Climb inside a comfortable, modern, 4-person gondola cabin for the trip to the top of Sulphur Mountain. As your cabin ascends high above this mountain paradise, admire bird’s eye views of Banff’s alpine scenery and meandering rivers, arriving at the summit of Sulphur Mountain.
While on top, feel free to explore the boardwalk leading to Sanson’s Peak, a national historic site, or just sit back, relax and enjoy the view. After your allotted time at the top, simply grab your assigned gondola back down to the base of the mountain.

Wow! Amazing view and the walk up to the top gives you even better views. One thing to note is you have to redeem your tickets (it only takes a few minutes). Definitely worth the cost.

Incredibly beautiful at the top. Walked the boardwalk for a while and then had a drink at the bar. All the staff were very friendly and helpful.

Do not book from Viator. You will find better price on Banff official site, I did a last minute booking on my vacation been in Canada, it showed me Canadian Dollars and charged me in USD. When reaching out to customer care , the management keep on repeating that I have choose my currency to be in USD.
Beed in Canada when I am aware I have cheaper price available here why would I pay extra $70, but they did not help me with price adjustment. Every penny matters for a family who works hard and comes out to make memories but I got stress and cheated.
I also checked the price of Columbia Glacier and this page shows me $300+ per person whereas it is available for $127-160 CAD price range. What a Scam, now I know how these companies steal money of people who are on vacation where they book last minute trips and get scammed.

It is AWESOME. STAFF is wonderful, friendly and so helpful. The full loops around the lakes are a must hike! The meadows were in beautiful bloom.

Scenery is spectacular. The staff from the moment we arrived greeters, ticket takers, loaders at bottom and top were cheerful, professional people! Their attitude helped ease our minds due to a bit of apprehension. We are going back today!
The picture taking opportunities are endless. This trip helped us get a knowledge of the entire area and history before all of our tours.

I’m happy to learn that the price is cheaper with Viator than the Gondola ticket office!
The Gondola ride to the top of Sulphur Mountain is spectacular especially during sunset. We opted for the 5:30 ride and enjoyed the show at the theater, live performance by Joel and of course watching the sunset reflect on the mountains.
I would definitely it again!

The views from the observation deck are gorgeous! It’s a fun and easy ride up there on the gondola. The staff is wonderful, too.
We walked around both observation decks and along the boardwalk. The weather was beautiful on the day we were there. Bright sunshine and moderate temperatures.

Expected some waiting due to popularity but was pleasantly surprised. Arrived at 12 which I would recommend due to lunchtime. Went on week day took shuttle that was not full, went directly up to gondola with no waiting. Had overpriced but tasty lunch on top as expected and again no waiting to go down and bus was there! All employees during experience from bus driver to gondola associates were pleasant, welcoming and helpful! Definitely recommend . They

The gondola ride was wonderful. Once up on top, the views were so nice. Walking around up there inside and out on the boardwalk are highly recommended.

Worth it! The views are stunning and the walk up the peak on Sulfur Mountain was AWESOME. My 6 and 9 year old were able to do it as well as my parents and in-laws (67 years old). Lots of stairs but plenty of places to stop and rest.

A very accessible way for the whole family to reach a summit and experience breathtaking views! Boardwalk well maintained and new views around every corner. Activities for kids that elevated their experience - earned a badge after completing a guide book. Dress in layers!

Extremely crowded for the summer season. Purchased tickets ahead of time here, and barely found parking, but that comes with the time of year we went. (July) Gondala is as awesome - very cool up top. Ate at the restaurant Sky Bistro, which was very high class for us but we really enjoyed it!!! Staff for both restaurant, gift shop, and Gondala were all extremely nice and kind. They gave us free digital photos as a marriage present - very sweet!

Its a good idea to book ahead of time, however you still have to stand in line.
Had to wait inline to redeem our rickets and then wait in line to go up.
Once your up there its beautiful, staff are pretty friendly and they are pretty fast.

Get tickets in advance. Wear a jacket. Between 2:30 and 4:30 buffet is closed. Plan to sit back and enjoy!

Park in downtown Banff for free on side streets then make you way to a local transit bus. Its free if you show the driver your ticket purchase for Gondola ride. Also consider making a reservation at the SkyTop restaurant, the food was AMAZING!

Pretty cool experience if you have not done something like this before. We had reservations at the Sky Bistro for dinner which we enjoyed, unfortunately it was a bit smokey that evening so the views were not the greatest. Would I do it again, no. Way to expensive for what you get.

Best to park in town and take a free shuttle. Time at the top is limited to about an hour and twenty minutes but that is adequate time to take in the excellent views in all directions. A worthwhile spend of a few hours.

Great experience if you are in Banff would highly recommend. Just show your booked ticket to the roam bus route 1 for a free bus ride up as parking looked busy. Stunning views on the way up and all around. Went to the buffet lunch at the top which was worth the elevated price, was a once in a lifetime experience and staff were super friendly.

Be sure to redeem your voucher for a real ticket when you get to the Gondola. Beware , it is very busy but you will get on. The system for moving people along does work but you will be in a lengthy line depending on when you go! You need a return ticket which can be changed to a different time at the top.

Incredible staff. I am handicapped and utilize a walker. The entire staff made it easy for me to get thru the line and they installed a ramp to allow me to board the gondola. I was able to participate in this activity at the place of my dreams, Banff.
