Banff National Park offers mountain views unlike anywhere else in North America. Turquoise lakes, old-growth pines, and towering granite peaks surround a green valley filled with diverse wildlife, including deer, eagles, and coyote. Lake Minnewanka provides a beautiful place in the park to explore and discover some of these natural wonders.
Your cruise on the lake starts at the dock, a short drive from the town of Banff. On board, your guide shares stories of the submerged town of Minnewanka Landing and the people who used to call the surrounding area their home.
As the captain navigates deeper into the mountains, see if you can spot bald eagles hunting for fish or a black bear foraging along the shore. Reach Devil's Gap, where the boat pauses so that you can fully admire the scenery.
The boat then circles around and returns to shore where you will disembark back at the dock.
Please note: During the busiest part of the summer, boats depart every 30 minutes. During off-peak hours, boats depart every hour during the day.

We had an excellent time on the Lake Minnewanka Cruise! Our tour guide was amazing! Knowledgeable, engaging, and a great storyteller. It was a fun, relaxing day on the lake with perfect weather and stunning views. Getting tickets through Viator was easy, and transportation was smooth. We took the bus from downtown Banff, but there was plenty of parking available if you drive yourself. Highly recommend this experience when visiting Banff!

We had an excellent time on the Lake Minnewanka Cruise! Our tour guide was amazing! Knowledgeable, engaging, and a great storyteller. It was a fun, relaxing day on the lake with perfect weather and stunning views. Getting tickets through Viator was easy, and transportation was smooth. We took the bus from downtown Banff, but there was plenty of parking available if you drive yourself. Highly recommend this experience when visiting Banff!

Our gorgeous Lake Minnewanka tour added a dimension to merely viewing others like Lake Louise. Guide Kenji was personable, captivating, & informative. We seniors appreciate limited walking distance & having the scenery (not us) move tho kids aboard seemed pleased. Safety was emphasized on the well-maintained vessel. A highlight was stopping for a brief respite of total silence amid incredible beauty. Only flaw was not going farther on the lake. Being "shoulder season" provided ample parking by clean restrooms.

The lake is stunningly beautiful and the mountains are majestic The tour leader, Cat was very nice and friendly and she did her best given the large Asian group that joined us. They did not follow the rules, did not seat on their seats on the way back, went out the back in groups larger than 6 etc. Very rude people.

It is a short 1 hour trip with beautiful views of the mountains. Can't remember the name of the guide. He did say he was originally from Tokyo. Hysterically funny. Wonderful personality. Had a fun way of explaining the rules of etiquette while on the boat. Very knowledgeable about history of the area and also the wildlife.

We had the Sandra Lynn boat with the new motors which were too loud in the open back to hear the commentary. Otherwise was a great trip with very good staff and beautiful weather.

The one hour cruise on Lynn Minnie Waka was terrific. We really enjoyed our guide Kenji and captain John. I am a handicapped man and really appreciated the accommodations for the disabled. My only negative thought was that the instructions on where to park and get to the boats we’re not very good.

The boat takes you out about 7 miles, turns around & comes back. It was cool to see the mountains from this perspective. Enjoyed hearing information about the area despite the loud crying of a toddler who screamed most of the trip:)

Enjoyable boat cruise in the lake with an excellent tour guide and boat captain for 1 hour.
