- All guests must arrive 30 minutes prior to their ride time.
- Our establishment is located in a remote backcountry area. Due to our unique location, our kitchen operates with limited resources. We are unable to accommodate requests beyond our set menus.
- Children aged 17 years and under must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
- Adults must sign a waiver for all activities, and a waiver must also be completed by the parent or legal guardian of any person under the age of 18 (documentation may be required to confirm the signatory’s authority).
- This tour/activity will have a maximum of 56 travelers

Me & My Family has a GREAT Experience! The Staff/Guides were very knowledgeable about the fauna, wildlife & history of the area! The Steak Dinner was AWESOME & the steaks got cooked to our individual preferences! Our 10 year old Daughter has a GREAT time! Thank You!

Wear long sleeves and long pants and make sure to bring your bug spray!! Also I’d advise to bring a bottle of water for the ride if you go during the summer!

Our tour guides Kate, Will, and Zoe, and Joe the cook, made our trip relaxing and enjoyable. Traveling with my teen (18), my mum (81) and aunt (76), we needed an excursion that would fulfill everyone’s expectations. The covered wagon experience provided that! The meal was excellent.
Highly recommend Banff Trail Riders. My daughter and I are already looking at backcountry rides next summer.

This was a great experience for a solo traveler like me and is also good family activity. Our hosts were and gave a lot of information about the trail, the surrounding area, their own background and the background of the horses. Steak dinner was delicious! 👍👍. I heard about this outing chatting with a traveler from UK that had gone the previous day and highly recommended it. Thank you fellow traveler!

Plan to bring a jacket in the summer. The covered wagon company has lots of blankets for the riders. Our family all enjoyed the ride fun and the dinner. We were very happy that we did the covered wagon ride and dinner activity.

It was amazing and fantastic. Even though it was raining, and cold, the team made it very comfortable for all of us in the wagon. Lisa and Will were great. The best part was narration throughout the trip. And the food and the staff was great!

So much fun and such an excellent experience. Guides were wonderful and the food was great. The horses that pulled the wagon were beautiful and very well trained. It was truly a great way to spend the afternoon in Banff.

If you want to be informed about the horses, the local area, the wildlife, the nature, the history, then this is definitely for you if you’re not interested in any of that it could just be a 3 hours in a wagon with some food on the way.
Also make use of the bathroom facilities at check in if you can’t old it for three hours and you are fussy about were you go as this is ment to be a authentic experience not a 5 star show.

Thanks to Erin, Kate, and of course, Spike and George, the beloved horses, we had a wonderful day out in the Covered Wagon. We were fortunate to have had a beautiful trip along the Bow River.
Along the way, we learned from Erin and Kate about the strengths and complexities of horses in general, as well as the impressive eccentricities of Spike and George.
Our cookout lunch offered by Joe was delicious, with custom-cooked steaks. We sat next to Aussie Loughlan and had a fun and fascinating conversation about his travels and work with the horses and Covered Wagons. We even tried lassoing, albeit not successfully...

The wagon ride with lunch was amazing! Erin, Sienna and Zoe were great guides and created a fantastic atmosphere for the group. They were extremely knowledgeable about the area and the horses, Zeus & Whiskey. This is a great way to experience Banff and have a delicious meal.

Just completed this experience and really enjoyed it. It was about an hour out by wagon and then the cookout. Guides gave us great information about both the area and the horses. Food was great and everything was super organized.

Fantastic!! Great tour and food a must do in Banff went on the 3 hour ride at 11:30am then as soon as I got back to catch the 1hour trail 3pm ride which I was glad that was on a different trail to see more along the river.

This was a fabulous experience. From the incredible horses to the knowledgeable guides and the absolutely delicious lunch! (We are still talking about the steak)
The ride itself was comfortable and included warm blankets. The lunch was delicious and included all the hot drinks you could drink. The addition of fun games and trying to lasso a steed were a cherry on top.
Our guides Lachlan and Caitlyn were knowledgeable and engaging. Cant recommend this enough!

This is a well run show. The staff are well mannered and knowledgable about the not only their own organisation, but also about Banff in general.
The stock are well looked after.
The steak dinner was cooked to perfection in a very comfortable facility, and the other games like “roping” and “horse shoe throw” were a fun surprise.
There was a mix of people from many places and everyone seemed to enjoy it.

Well organised trip in a covered wagon , with delicious supper . The girls leading the tour were really and fun and shared lots of interesting information.
It was a relaxing ride by the Bow river with Brett taking Mountain views.
The horses were well loved and cared for , the Sundance ranch had a lovely - everyone sees to love their job .
