The vineyard we visited was beautiful. Our guide seemed a bit rushed at times. We were supposed to visit 3 vineyards but went only to a wine cellar and one vineyard.

David was our tour guide and driver. He went above and beyond to include me in the tour!!. I was struggling to find parking and David guided me to a parking lot and picked me up from there!! I learned more about French wine in that trip to the Vineyards and I’ve ever known before. He is incredibly knowledgeable and personable. The wineries that we went to were excellent and would enjoy visiting there again!! I highly recommend this tour and would definitely take it again to visit other wineries!!!

Absolutely great experience. If you just want to sample as many wines as possible, this isn't for you. If you want to explore the area, visit beautiful little villages and be immersed into the wine of the area with an amazing guide, sign up now. Thierry was a fantastic guide, full of knowledge. He has a great rapport with the owners of each visit and makes you feel very welcome. He even pulled over at a strawberry stand and bought us strawberries for the ride, ensuring we experienced the great fresh in season berries. I felt we got to experience much more than just wine on this tour and really enjoyed every minute

We did our tour with Thierry and absolutely loved it. Thierry was one of my favorite guides we’ve had for any tour. His mannerisms and his knowledge was just awesome. He really cared about us having a good time and he was very flexible with our group on where we wanted to spend more time, and stopping by for us to get food, etc. he had great relationships with the winery and his knowledge was extensive. I would definitely recommend this tour to others.

We had a tour with Theirry (spelling??) and he was PERFECT! Upbeat, polite, fun and incredibly informative. He managed to even switch our tour around for an additional special winery. I feel like I know much more about Southern Rhone wines.

Fair and more of a shopping wine tour

The wine tour was fair. It wasn’t a Grand Cru wine tour. It should state clearly that it is merely a Côtes du Rhône tour. The first winery is plainly a wine shop with 7 bottles of wine to choose from. No explanation of his wine because the owner didn’t speak English. Few pieces of paper with few photos showing his barrels. You take a sip and decide to buy it or not. Quite disappointing. The second winery is better. The staff there explained detail on the type of wine and grapes they have. The guide showed us the manufacturing process (but he made it real quick because he wastes some time on picking up other guests ).The third one is the best of all. But our guide seemed to arrive there late and Chateau was going to close very soon. We didn’t get a chance to know everything in detail. We did had a look of the vineyard but no detail explanation(soil, humidity, wind, grapes ). Actually, I can see it everywhere if it is vineyard only. We have bought a few bottles at the end. The tour is fair but I would not say it is a Grands Crus wine tasting tour. The guide didn’t tell us anything on which winery were we going, what was the itinerary and what is the difference on choosing these three wineries plus waste some time to pick up other guests who didn’t show up at last. I guess they randomly picked three wines, took us there and earned a commission. That’s how this tour works.

We had a great time. The tour covers a lot of beautiful Provence scenery. We enjoyed all of the wines. The highlight was visiting the cellar in Chateauneuf and being taught wine tasting by a master sommelier.

Our guide was exceptional; very knowledgeable, understood the history of the area, the geography, and wine making. He was extremely professional, courteous, and safe. He knew the vineyards, the people, and subtleties of the years and various blends. He went out of his way - and time to make sure we had food for an afternoon picnic. We very much enjoyed our tour with a knowledgeable if not gregarious tour guide and would give this 4.5 stars. We visited two wineries Beaurenard in Chateauneuf de Pape and a very small one in Gigondas - both excellent. After Gigondas we were offered a chance to visit either a 3rd winery or additional villages in the area with some history. We choose the villages and were treated an excellent tour with good info on the wine and history from our guide.

JB was a great tour guide. We had a fantastic time on our tour. We visited two vineyards and had plenty of wine tasting. JB gave us a great history lesson in the area and was very knowledgeable of wine and wine tasting. The touring van was cool and comfortable. Additionally, we got to spend the day in the beautiful French countryside. Overall, it was a awesome day.

A really enjoyable and informative afternoon with an entertaining and knowledgeable guide. Two vineyards visited producing varied types of wine with a degustation and tips on how to get the best from a tasting, with a demonstration of the different terroirs and what they bring to the process. There were only three of us for this tour and our guide, J.B. picked us up in a nice sedan instead of a minivan. This made our travel time much more enjoyable it was quieter and more comfortable. J.B. is charismatic and professional. His personal and professional experience provided a depth and breadth to the information shared about the tour sites and the region in general. As we talked, he could tailor the stops and his presentation to our level of interest and knowledge. Seguret and Gigondas are beautiful villages it was interesting to see the countryside change as we traveled east from Chateauneuf du Pape. Late May is a wonderful time to be in Provence. It is comfortably warm and the plants and flowers are vigorous and showy. It is too early for the grand fields of lavender, but the poppies more than make up for them.

I really expected more from this tour. I would not rate this as Grand Cru wine tasting as it was not. Our guide was OK, but not great. Instead of providing commentary between the long drive times, the van was silent. I though that the guide could have provided more information about the area and about wine. Neither tasting we went to was great. We also stopped at a wine selling location that did not seem to be expecting us, seemed annoyed we were there, and the wine seemed to be randomly ordered with no explanations. I would book another tour out to the Rhone Valley - you can book one directly in Avignon or use another company here on Viator.
