Nastassja was terrific! She took us through the streets of Avignon and pointed out all the good places to go. Most of us were staying a few days and appreciated the tips. Food choices were excellent.

The Taste of Avignon tour was one of the highlights of our visit to Avignon. Our guide took us to four different locations around the city, each offering a unique and delicious taste of the local food culture.
We started with appetizers at the local market, where we sampled fresh regional specialties while learning about the history and traditions behind them. Next, we enjoyed a memorable lunch at a charming local café, featuring a wonderfully rich baked cheese dish that was both comforting and authentic.
Our third stop was a long-established patisserie, where we indulged in exquisite desserts that showcased the craftsmanship and heritage of French pastry making. The tour concluded at a local honey and nougat shop, where we sampled outstanding artisanal products.
Every stop offered something new and delicious, and the variety of experiences made the tour feel both immersive and well-paced. The guide was knowledgeable, engaging, and passionate about the local food scene, which added tremendous value to the experience.
My only minor criticism is that the tour included just one drink with lunch. Given the quality and generosity of the food offerings, it would have been nice if an additional beverage or tasting had been included along the way. Even so, this was a phenomenal experience that I would highly recommend to anyone looking to explore Avignon through its food, history, and local culture.

Tour guide. Zara, was great. But thr itinerary and food items was lackluster. It did not ultimately feel like a meal and our group agreed that it did not feel like a “culinary” tour. Heavy on cheese and salad, some candy, fries and dessert.

This is a walking food tour. We made four stops. We had regional appetizers and an olive oil tasting in the covered market. We stopped at a cafe for wine and cheese. The baked Camembert was amazing. After that we stopped at another cafe for dessert. The chocolate mousse and tiramisu were delicious. Our last stop was a candy store where we samples candy and flavored honeys. Our guide, Nasta, was very knowledgable of the area, so we learned a lot also.

The guide was awesome very personable and knowledgeable with lots of information about the city. However, the restaurants and food options were not great. It was too many cheese options. 3 slices of cheese at one place, one hot cheese at another and a slice of pie at the last is not food tour. The wine was not good either.

Zara was absolutely made the experience a 5 Star. The food at each stop was exceptional, but it was her knowledge of Avignon, the Provence Region and the local food providers that made the quality difference. It was a cold and overcast day, but we learned about Avignon, and Provence, the cuisine and culture. We shared exquisite food, smiles and laughter and have wonderful memories to share. A return trip is in the planning!

My husband and I absolutely loved this tour! We joined in mid-September with Zahra as our host, and it was the perfect start to our time in Avignon.
Zahra was amazing! Warm, knowledgeable, and full of great tips. My husband especially enjoyed the architecture and history she shared along the way. We met fellow travelers from around the world (Brits, Australians, and Americans), which made it even more fun. The time flew by, and the food was simply delicious. We tried candies, honey, cheeses, tapenades, desserts and more!
I highly (!!) recommend doing this on your first day in Avignon to get a lay of the land and insider tips for shopping and exploring. I dropped some map pins and went back for the best souvenirs and gifts the next day.
Zahra seems to know everyone and every great spot in town, so she can customize suggestions to your interests, just ask!
It wasn’t just about eating, we also learned why Avignon’s food is so special and how it’s prepared.
Wear comfortable shoes, bring a water bottle, and immerse yourself. You’ll leave having tasted something new and memorable, I promise.

The tour starts with a visit to Les Halles where we sampled bread and some olive spreads and olive oil. The market itself is very nice and it would have been a better experience to have some time to see the whole market. From there we went to a cafe on the edge of the square and had a choice of two quiches or pizza. That came with a fresh salad and a glass of wine. From there we sampled some nougat and then to another location for a tart of our choice amongst five flavors. Then in the heat of the day we walked to a place with callisons and nougat and a taste of lavender syrup. The guide was a lovely young woman who was very pleasant but I thought the tour was light on information and knowledge of Provençal cuisine.

Our host was amazing! Clara was fun, informative and engaging. The food was blah! Little samples of things we could have walk into the store ourselves and sampled. and then a quiche and simple salad for dinner. We experienced more unique food exploring on our own. And was disappointed to have a basic quiche for one of our dinners in France. We have had a food tour in another country that explored the more unique flavors of the region. I was hoping for that with this tour.
