Itinerary

Your morning or afternoon tour starts with pickup from your Avignon hotel by air-conditioned minivan. Enjoy the views on the about 1-hour drive to the Luberon Valley in the heart of Provence, then make the first stop of the day at the Abbey Notre-Dame of Sénanque. After a short visit to admire the Cistercian architecture, continue to hilltop Gordes, where you’ll have about 30 minutes to take in the views and explore the picturesque Provencal village.

Next, you’ll visit another Luberon village, Roussillon, which is known for its striking red ochre cliffs and contrasting buildings. Here, you’ll have an hour to stroll the streets and browse the shops at your own pace.

You’ll make one final stop to see the natural springs of Fontaine de Vaucluse before returning to Avignon, where your tour ends with drop-off at your hotel.

Joanna from the Van Gough tour was unsurpassable!

Richard_T, Oct 2025
Joanna gave us an outstanding tour of the footsteps of Van Gough! Her enthusiasm, depth of knowledge, professionalism, promptness, patience & overall excellence made our tour one of the very best tours of anywhere we traveled around the world! We highly recommend her & she represents your company as if she was your CEO! She deserves a substantial raise! Thank you.

Fun day visiting Luberon Hill towns

Lisa_M, Sep 2025
Lovely day xisiting the Luberon Valley hill towns. Kelsey our guide was lovely and a good driver. We had 6 people in our group. She dropped us off at each of the towns and allowed us to explore. She gave us some history on the ride to the towns and gave us options how to spend our time there. It was a lovely day

Excellent Tour, Excellent Driver

Marilyn_M, Aug 2025
Casey (spelling?) was a fabulous tour guide. We had a mixed English and French group and she could switch flawlessly from one language to the other. Casey drove professionally and safely and gave us detailed instructions on where to go and what to see. If one only has a short period of time in Avignon and wants to get a good representation of the quaint, small towns in Provence, I highly recommend this tour in general and this tour guide in particular.

I booked this tour just two days before my tour and was not told that the lavender fields had already been harvested. My only reason for booking this trip was to photograph the lavender fields. I will never use Viator again and I would like to request a refund.

Response from Host, Jul 2025

The lavendine fields in the Luberon area are finished blooming by mid-July and very often cut by then. You never requested a lavender tour where we could have gone to the mountain and see some. We did the agreed stops in hilltop villages..

Very bad experience. Just a drivers, no guide. She never tell to us her name. From the start of the trip nothing was explained.

Response from Host, Jul 2025

I think you are referring to another tour company as I don’t have you registered in any of our tours of the Luberon in the last 10 days.

Great way to see beautiful little towns

James_K, Jun 2025
Things we loved: small group size (7), great, informative driver and guide (Kelsey), getting to not only see but spend time away from Avignon and to 3 small towns. We also enjoyed that this was packed into a 1/2 day tour, but didn’t feel rushed. No negatives: we’d do it again!

Best tour in Avignon

Lisa_B, May 2025
Our half day tour seeing the sights of Provence was wonderful. We learnt so much from our guide Anne about the history of what we were experiencing and recommendations of things to do in the areas visited. Would recommend this tour to anyone who wishes to experience the local culture rather than just ticking monuments off.

Kathryn_G, May 2025
This tour was good for a very quick and casual look at three villages around Avignon. Our tour guidé was very knowledgeable and explained the history around the villages and area between stops. In our tour, we were given free reign to explore on our own and return back to our meeting point. The locations were very interesting and picturesque, but they have become big tourist attractions so there's a lot of people wherever you go. I recommend this tour and also recommend wearing comfortable shoes as some stones are slippery and there are steep hills.

Pleasant and scenic tour

Eleanor_M, May 2025
Very efficient tour at an acceptable pace. The tour guide was informative and entertaining. Would highly recommend.

Stress free tour of the Luberon Valley

Teresa_I, Apr 2025
A stress free way to visit the small hillside towns in the Luberon Valley. Details about the area and destination provided while in transit so that you had free time in the villages to explore at your pace.
