Tulips, Windmills, and Cheese!

This was a great experience! Gillio was an excellent guide, too. We had a great time taking cute photos in the tulips at The Tulip Experience and got to pick some tulips to brighten up our hotel room during our visit. Kuekenhof was beautiful and there were so many flowers. Then we went to see the windmills; there was a live demonstration of wooden clog making. We also went to Henri Willig to learn the cheese making process and try more than a dozen cheeses. I highly recommend this tour.

Combining 4 trips in one

It packs a lot into one day and includes a fair amount of driving due to the locations. There was enough time to see everything at each location and meant we could then plan entirely different activities on our other days. Our driver Gillio not only took us to the head of the queues, but was knowledgeable, helpful and was around to take some photos, so all in all a great day out, albeit not on the face of it, a cheap option, but provided a completely self-governed day out.

If you are wondering will Keukenhof be worth it…the answer is YES! We came very early season (April 2) and there were still plenty of flowers. This tour is a lot for one day but we were all so glad we did it. The dairy and cheese tasting was super fun (and we almost asked to skip it). Shoe making was interesting and quick. The shops and windmills make for good pics and good souvenir shopping. The tulip “experience” was where we took quite a few pictures and ate snacks and pastries….get the cheese roll!

This experience is really worth it. The tulips, region and ancillary stops are excellent. It's a stunning site and Keukenhof is a place you could spend days. Having a personal guide deliver you to each site, facilitate your entry and fill in information between stops is a phenomenal way to make the most of this experience. Our guide (host), Hamza, really went over and above, working hard to get us the best experience, giving us ample time while navigating the trip to allow us to reach each experience. I can't offer enough thanks to him.

Wow! This was the perfect way to spend a day enjoying the Netherlands outside of Amsterdam. Gillio was a delightful host! He was exactly punctual picking us up from our lodgings. Water, phone chargers, and informational literature about each stop on our tour awaited us when we entered his clean and comfortable vehicle. From Tulip Experience-- where we learned so much about the history and effort that goes into farming these lovely flowers-- to Keukenhof's overwhelming splendor-- to the Zaanse Schans Windmills and clog making demonstration-- to the most amazing cheese I've ever tasted (!!)-- it was an ideal way to see the lovely Dutch countryside, learn about the history and culture of the Netherlands, and discover that there is so much more we still want to do in this beautiful place. We HIGHLY recommend this tour!!

Perfect day exploring the tulips and windmills as a family. From the moment he picked us up, Gilio was an excellent driver and host for our day. The timing at each stop was the perfect amount of time, we never felt rushed for time or that we had too much time. Gilio was happy to take group photos for us at each stop and they turned out great. The pickup at our hotel was on time and it was so nice to be dropped back off at the hotel. We have nothing but great things to say about our day!
