We had a fantastic time on our Yellowstone Lake kayaking tour. Our guide Dylan was really knowledgeable and friendly. The journey was a 6-mile kayak around the edge of the West Thumb of the lake and good for beginners and experienced kayakers alike. Would definitely recommend! The only thing I would say is that if you’re booking through Viator you can’t specify a single or double kayak, so you may want to reach out directly to Prismatic Tours after booking to request, if you have a preference.

Experienced & knowledgeable guide!!

Kaley picked us up on time. We were seven adults and one child. She was very knowledgeable, friendly and safety conscious. She hoped that we would see wildlife and we did…hundreds of Bison! Our van was surrounded by them for a very long time. She allowed us to stop and take photos when we asked and she also allowed for extra restroom breaks. The lunch provided was substantial. What a fantastic experience! I’m sure all of their guides are great, but request her if you can!!

Our guide was very knowledgeable, both about Yellowstone Park itself, and the best way into the various places, avoiding the busiest places and still showing us the sites in Yellowstone. The hike was terrific and...

The hike was terrific and our guide, Connor, was excellent. His knowledge of the area and the animals was great. Some of the terrain was a bit of a challenge for me (I'm 72 and I wasn't the only older hiker) but Connor made sure we could all keep up and gave us time to catch our breath from the steeper hills.

We took both tours and enjoyed two unforgettable days exploring the park from the comfort of a small van with large windows. Our tour guides, Bri for the Lower Loop and Maddie for the Upper Loop, were outstanding! They safely navigated the park, shared fascinating information about Yellowstone's history and tour sites, and always knew exactly where to stop for the best views. We were mesmerized by Yellowstone's incredible geothermal features, including Grand Prismatic Spring, the spectacular eruptions of Old Faithful and Beehive Geysers, the colorful hot springs at the West Thumb Geyser Basin, and the iconic Mammoth Hot Springs Terraces. We also enjoyed the breathtaking views of the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone, the historic Continental Divide, and the vast ecosystems of Lamar and Hayden Valleys. The wildlife viewing was just as amazing. We saw bison, elk, pronghorn, a bald eagle, ravens, and even an osprey with her young in their nest. Yellowstone Family Adventure

The trip was better than we expected. We were a family of 7 with our youngest being 8. Our driver, John, was fantastic. He coordinated with fellow park rangers to identify a pack of wolves, turning us around to put us in a position to see the pack of wolves. We also saw a grizzly bear, and many of the common animals. Our guide John knew virtually every fact or answer to every question we had. Every one of us learned a lot while on our excursion. This was the highlight for our family (kids ranged from 22 to 8). The vehicle was very comfortable, had large windows and the snacks and lunch were wonderful. Highly recommend.

Excellent Road Trip

Mike, the tour guide, gave us an excellent adventure, providing history and opportunities seeing the wildlife in the park. We went to many trails to majestic views of nature's beauty. We had lunch at a very beautiful Yellowstone hotel. The Old Faithful Hotel was amazing and waited to get a close view during of Old Faithful Geyser. This was a memorable experience.

Great experience and worth every penny!

Experience was great overall! Mike was a great tour guide - very knowledgeable, funny, considerate and genuinely worked so that our experience as a family was perfect. The open air van was really cool and made the trip unique! Recommendations: if signing up through Viator, confirm your pickup location the day before. Our itinerary said one location, but we needed to go to a different one. It all worked out but just raising it for awareness. Also, ask for the “bear lingo” early in the trip. 10/10 would recommend!

Highly recommend

The investment was well worth it. We didn't have to worry about parking, where to go to the bathroom, getting lost or where to go to make the most of our time, it was all done for us. Mike was and awesome guide. His wealth of knowledge, sense of humor and the type of person he is made the trip fun. He really does care that you get the best experience Yellowstone has to offer. The scenery was epic and weather in the beginning of July was perfect. If they give you an option for a Bronco instead of the open air bus or transit van... things to consider are getting in an out of the lifted Bronco is more difficult for some, the back seat is realistically for only 2 people and visibility is limited with the smaller windows. But the smaller vehicle did make for a more intimate/personal tour and was a smoother, more quiet ride. Opportunities to get out and stretch your legs were plentiful and they provide lots of water and snacks.

As the driver for the trip, it was nice to be able to see the sights. This was primarily a wildlife searching tour. We did stop at Mammoth Hot Springs and walk up the boardwalk. Having a guide showing us what to look for was key. Alison was very enthusiastic and truly wanted us to get the most out of the tour.

Beautiful Sunset Kayaking

I went on the sunset kayaking tour with guide Spencer. He is top notch! He's attentive and interacts with everyone, also provided safety tips for hiking or doing other activities in Yellowstone. I enjoyed listening to the history and events of the park. The entire experience was beautiful and relaxing. I got to see an American bald eagle and the west thumb hot springs up close. I highly recommend this tour!
