Itinerary
Meet your knowledgeable local guide in central Rome, then head straight to the historical center.
Wander the narrow cobblestoned lanes of the Centro Storico, passing outdoor cafes, baroque fountains, ancient churches and Renaissance-era palaces. Stop for a while at the 17th-century Trevi Fountain and perhaps even toss a coin in to ensure that you come back.
Get ready to be wowed by the Pantheon, one of the best-preserved buildings from ancient Rome. Meaning 'temple of all gods,' the Pantheon is a site to behold: it holds the tombs of Renaissance artist Raphael and King Umberto I, among others. Take a short walk over to stunning Piazza Navona, one of the greatest public spaces in the city to look at the fountains designed by baroque master Bernini.
Hop aboard an air-conditioned vehicle for the ride to Vatican City. Stop at St. Peter's Square where you can admire the massive basilica and continue to explore on your own.

We enjoyed it very much, our tour guide Georgio was so nice and very knowledgeable about all the places. Really nice tour.

our guide Giorgio will be happy of your satisfaction

Wow! This was a lot more walking than we expected! In the description, it said that we could choose to stay on the bus (but that we would miss a lot of sites). I think it should be categorized as a walking tour bc we were on the bus for 15 minutes and walked for 2 hours on a very hot day.

I reached out to the tour company prior to the tour and they did not respond. I sent them a message and called and received no response. Therefore I was unable to take the tour. I suggested meeting them at the location and the woman told me no, I couldn't do that. I went to the Trevi Fountain on my own and it was amazing.

We took the day tour, without lunch. The Vatican in the morning and the coliseum in the afternoon. The tours were the best option, because it made getting into the venues easy, and I would recommend them if you want to get in quickly. The guides were well informed, and entertaining. The only negative is that you do not have the time to see all of the venues. My advice is that you use the tour to get into the venue, and when the tour is complete, remain in the venues to see what was not covered.

Great tour and day out done the morning tour and later one great way to see everything you want to in Rome
Yvie , Mar 2018
Amazing day our however we skipped the Spanish steps and had to go back on our own another day. Small group, guide was very passionate and helpful.
Philip Z, Mar 2018
Very relaxing and enjoyable to sit and see everything in the comfort inside a bus.
Audio was clear and understandable with different languages available for other nationalities.

I was confused about this tour. It didn't seem to go along with the description.
Brian D, Nov 2017
This was our first tour while in Rome. It was a good overview of many of the key attractions, and important sites in Rome. This helped get us oriented for the rest of our stay.
Tom_A, Sept 2017
Excellent tour of the top sites of central Rome highlighted by our ,87 year old guide who was worth the price of the tour himself! The bus stops in 2 locales and then you walk a fair bit which was fine for us but hard for some of the party to keep up.Very good way to begin your vacation and orient yourself.
Coach Billygolfer!!!, Aug 2017
Saw all the sites we wanted to see!!!! The guide was so knowledgeable and very fun to be with!! Great day!!!!!!!
katica b, Aug 2017
Tour guys was very old guy and really was not into giving you much information about the sight except how old it approximately is and what the name of it was. It was sort of waste of time and frustrating after taking another tour which was so informative and interesting. Green line seems so very commercial and can care less about it really. Only good part about it was that we happen to take it on Sunday and we ended at Vatican and were able to see the Pope.
fredandpaulalopez, Aug 2017
Great tour, a nice overview of city highlights. The only disappointment was that the tour did not include the interior of St. Peter's Basilica. We have since recommended this tour to everyone we know who is going to Rome. People just need to be aware that there is quite a bit of walking in the city center.

This was the worst of all the tours. When we bought the ticket, we double checked that the 3 hr tour did not cover the Vatican area which we had just covered the previous day. The Viator person assured us that the Vatican area would not be covered and Spanish steps would but we were lied to.
Irene G, Jul 2017
Great. Our tour guide knew all about the colosseum and even did some of the excavation work there!
Michelle M, Jun 2017
The first part of the tour, the walking tour was wonderful. Very friendly and informative guide. The second part they have you wait for an hour or two before the second part, was terrible. Our guide for the Parthenon did not speak very good English and she was quite rude. We got a refund for this.

Unfortunately I arrived 15 minutes late due to transportation issues. I tried to find out where I could catch up with the group but the people at Green Line Tours were quite cut and dry, most uncaring. I asked where they were offering the lunch which I had paid for and that's how I was able to find them.
I had to buy another Hop on hop off tour until lunch time.
The tour guide Max was extremely knowledgeable and pleasant with a great sense of humor. He took us to the Coloseum and went through it with so much detail. We also went to see the beautiful statue of Moses and St. Peter's supposed chains.
Lisa W, Mar 2017
There were only 4 people on this tour. Two individuals who spoke Chinese who had their own interpreter and my daughter and myself who had our own interpreter. You would think this would be ideal with lots of interaction and personal information from the tour guide however, our tour guide would tell us a few details then step aside and be on her phone texting. She seemed very indifferent to us or to making our tour a memorable one.
Toni C, Feb 2017
a trip of a life time! The group was small and the guide was well informed! You get to see many things that i would never have found on my own. Love it
Glenn B, Feb 2017
What a fun day, we like to take the tours on our first day in town to get our bearings. We say so many interesting sites. It would have been nice to have a little more time in St. Peters Square, which we could have opted for but would have had to find our own transport back to the city center.
Leslie_M, Jan 2017
Our first tour of the trip and it was amazing! What a guide and what a city - so beautiful. On the morning tour you will see all the highlights of Classical Rome and you'll walk mostly hopping on and off the bus twice. This is the way to do it if your time is limited and even if you are staying a month or a lifetime I would definitely recommend it. Just wandering the streets with a local who loves this place is fantastic. You will see the Trevi Fountain and Pantheon and all the important squares etc. and get a feel for classical, gorgeous, Rome. We took this tour on Boxing Day right after Christmas and I was very confused when I booked it because many comments referred to visits to the Vatican despite the fact that it was not mentioned in the description of this tour. We did enter Vatican City briefly on the tour but the museum, Basilica, and Sistine Chapel we closed because of the holiday. This was good for us because I think we got to spend more time in the city of Rome as I had hoped and we had a tour of the Vatican scheduled for later in the week. The Vatican portion of the tour is something that causes a bit of confusion but I assume this tour often gives you a bit of time in St. Peter's Basilica. In any case, bring your own set of earbuds just in case the ones they give you don't work properly and have a blast!!
We also took the Afternoon Ancient Tour Of Rome that you could add to this tour and it was the only tour I found a bit disappointing. Be aware you will not get to walk through the Roman Forum as I assumed we would. We enjoyed it however and did see the ruins of course but had little detailed explanation. You do have to wait as the guide buys tickets for the Coliseum but we were prepared for that as we had read reviews here. If time is limited add this part of the tour most definitely! A nighttime tour might be a bit better.
Ruchika S, Nov 2016
No so great, all the places covered would have been easily covered on our own, but our guide was great
claudia r, Oct 2016
Great way to see major sights and our guide was quite funny. Better to do the tour in the morning as less people were out and about. There was a lady that was organizing the tour however, that was so rude to me several times, even after the tour had ended that made me wish I had never done it to begin with.
towflorida1117, Oct 2016
This tour was amazing, the tour guide was fantastic and the information covered was entertaining and very educational. The morning guide had vast knowledge of what she was explaining, and was helpful and just FANTASTIC. THE AFTERNOON GUIDE WAS LIKE 90 years old, hysterical and great! I am so glad that he was the guide for the second half as he added humor to the learning and narration which was quite a change from all of the other tours that we did. Greenline was fantastic, easy to find, easy to contact. Highly recommend seeing the sights it's a guide, as we did both ways and the guide made it so much better.
Julie H, Oct 2016
We enjoyed our tour very much. Some of the places we saw on this tour we had already walked to ourselves but we really enjoyed hearing the history behind everything. It helped put everything in perspective and understand Rome a bit more. We were very pleased we took the tour
Lynette G, Oct 2016
Very disorganized to find the meeting place, dropped off for lunch with no explanation, guides were great!
Erin N, Sept 2016
Awesome tour!! Our guide was an older gentleman and a lifelong citizen of Rome. He loves his city and it shows! Was a good pace, saw many top sights and our guide made it very enjoyable.
William W, Aug 2016
A fairly informative and pleasant tour made especially worthwhile by visiting the highly impressive Pantheon, but otherwise somewhat limited in scope.
Lawrence B, Aug 2016
Great overview of Rome. We took the all day tour. Lunch was very good. Morning tour guide was poor. Afternoon tour guide was great.
