What are people saying about Akureyri

Highly recommend if you...
Highly recommend if you are traveling via cruise ship. Easy to find the bus as it was a different colors then all others which was nice. Kuba was a great driver and never felt like we were gonna go off road:). Jessica, our tour guide was amazing and filled with tons of information and even threw in some jokes which was awesome. This tour gives you a taste of what the country has to offer. It was also nice to hear about the location on the bus and be able to see them at your own pace.

Great tour, stunning views, highly recommend a swim in the Nature Lagoon.
Fabulous tour!… our guide was SO good, telling us lots of stories and information about Iceland. He went out of his way to give us the best tour. The waterfall was simply stunning. We also went to the Nature Lagoon which was a truly spectacular experience. Warm, blue and gorgeous, a must do experience.

An absolutely wonderful excursion
Our guide, Marka (apologies if I’ve misspelled the name), was truly impressive, a real wealth of knowledge and information. We visited some incredible sites, and the tour brought everything to life, from Iceland’s geology and history to its culture and traditions. I would highly recommend this trip and would happily do it all over again. The Earth Lagoon at the end was particularly special, do not miss it!

Saw lots of whales very close to boat!!
Excellent as far as whale watching! We’ve done a variety of whale watching trips in different places we’ve traveled and never have we seen as many whales (and very close to the boat). The only caveat is that we were visiting on a cruise ship docked in Akureyri and this was at a different harbor located 25 minutes by taxi from our port. Cost of taxi was $160 USD each way. The tour company offers transfers on some of their tours but not the 11:00 one we were booked on so we paid $160 to get there and the very nice lady made arrangements to have us driven back by her husband at no charge. Kudos for them saving us the cost of the return taxi ride!

Beautiful waterfalls, epic whale-watching excursions, geothermal baths, and more await you in northern Iceland—and you can experience them all on your choice of Akureyri tours. Take in magnificent natural views while you travel through the North Iceland countryside in comfort, or tailor your tour to accommodate all the sights on your wishlist, such as those in the Diamond Circle (similar to South Iceland’s Golden Circle). There are many tours that even include several stops, allowing you to make the most of your time in Akureyri.
