A great experience at Manuel Antonio park. We were able to see many different animals and learn about the park's nature thanks to our guide, Kevin, with whom we were chatting calmly throughout the tour and who got us some very good photos. Highly recommended.

Nauyaca Waterfall Adventure -All-Inclusive Full Day tour

Amazing full day tour

Eddie and Julian (I hope I remember their names correctly!) were the best tour guides I felt like family by the end of the tour. They were so friendly, knowledgeable, safe, and I felt taken care of! The tour was jam packed with adventure from a small local swimming hole, to playa Linda, to having lunch at a restaurant with the best of a waterfall before hitting up Nauyaca falls, and finishing with a pitstop for coffee in Dominical. I truly had such a great day and during the green season we had a small group of 5 total. I cannot express how much I loved this experience!!

Great tour with many animal sightings.

We had a great tour with Luis Roberto as our guide. We saw many animals within the first few meters. With so many exciting animals, we would have liked a bit more information. Our guide was very open and communicative and ensured a relaxed atmosphere.

See it all!!

This was an excellent tour. I thought I would miss it because I was running a bit late but fortunately there were only three of us in the group with our guide Luis. Upon entry to the park, Luis immediately began pointing out wild life and reptiles for us to see with the naked eye as well as through the scopes that the guides carry. He was instrumental in pointing even the smallest of creatures to us and was masterful at taking pictures with the cameras on our phones through the lens of the scope. I was very impressed with his knowledge and enthusiasm. If you want to see and learn it all – TAKE THIS TOUR!

Must do in Manuel Antonio!

This was so fun! It was my first time zip lining, and it was one of the coolest things I’ve ever done. The guides are all so nice and incredibly helpful. They gave us all the explanations needed to make us feel safe and at ease, and they were so patient throughout the adventure. The views were amazing!!! There’s no other way to describe them. And the lunch offered at the end of the tour was so delicious!

Day in Isla Dama mangroves - Quepos

An experience that, as we had been recommended, is exceptional and very different from what we have experienced in our month of travel. Kevin is a wonderful guide, approachable and very attentive to every detail. Together with Gerardo as captain of the boat tour. To finish, a lunch at Soda Sánchez, with very local flavors.

Unbelievable experience!

Diego was fantastic! He had such a keen eye, was very knowledgeable, patient, and friendly. Recommend going later in the morning when the crowds dissipate and more animals come out of hiding like we did. Beaches were beautiful as well. Very humid day so the beach was a great way to cool off. Diego shared his pictures with us as well which was another bonus!

Professional tour with Saul

We booked the tour directly on their site; we were provided with the necessary information, such as the meeting point and the guide's name, well in advance. Our guide Saul was great, very experienced and professional. He even spotted a toucan in front of the entrance! Awesome. The tour lasted 2 hours… however, I would recommend booking the 7-hour tour instead, since a lot of people arrive starting at 7:30 AM and then it's just group after group. The beach is obviously great, but after 10 AM it's more than crowded since it is quite narrow. The early bird catches the worm! The tour has a very good price-performance ratio.

This boat ride was comfortable and accommodating. Rode along the coast and even got to see a mother Humpback whale and her baby. Snorkeling was a bit packed but was able to see about 5 different types of fish. The slide and jumping off the deck was awesome. Food was great. We all loved it.

What are the best tours in Quepos?

There are plenty of high-quality tours and experiences in Quepos. According to previous travelers, here are the best tours to book right now:

Are guided tours in Quepos worth it?

Yes, guided tours of Quepos are definitely worth it, especially if you plan on visiting Manuel Antonio National Park and seeing as much wildlife as possible. Local guides aren't just better at finding and identifying local birds, they're also who you'll want behind the wheel as Costa Rica's roads are notorious for being rough (even in the dry season). If your guide is like most Ticos or Ticas, they'll also be very friendly and happy to provide tips and recommendations for other areas you hope to visit on your trip.

Per one customer who booked the Manuel Antonio Park Tour and its Amazing Wildlife and Beaches, "We really enjoyed this tour. They were very communicative from the beginning and helpful as we made our plans. The meeting location was very clear. Edwin did a great job finding animals, birds, etc along the way for us to see, and we learned a lot of interesting facts. I noticed he had a special addition on his spotting scope that allowed multiple people to see the animals at the same time, and for pictures to be shared with the group as part of the cost of the tour."

How much do Quepos tours cost?

Guided tours in Quepos start at US$25 per person for a guided walk in Manuel Antonio National Park; however, park admission (US$19 for anyone aged 12 and above) is typically not included. Boat tours are also usually a budget-friendly option as they start around US$40. Most tours at the upper end of the price range are private, and they start around US$50 per hour. Full-day group tours including multiple activities begin around US$100 per person and go up to around US$400 per person.

For a tour on the lower end of the price range, consider the Customized Nature Walk in Manuel Antonio National Park for US$25 per person. Alongside up to nine other travelers, you'll look for sloths, as well as other wildlife with the help of a certified guide who knows the park well and is equipped with high-powered optics they're happy to share. Pricier tours that tend to book up fast include the best-selling Full Day Waterfall Adventure from US$140 per person. Suitable for most ages, this tour will take you to three picturesque waterfalls you probably wouldn't be able to find or access without a local guide. It includes transportation, dry bags for your valuables, safety gear, and even lunch at an organic farm.

What activities are included on Quepos tours?

Quepos tours cater to an array of interests, but are particularly geared toward travelers who appreciate being outdoors and natural sites: Manuel Antonio National Park is the reason most people venture to this small town on Costa Rica's central Pacific Coast. Expect activities like birdwatching, hiking, kayaking, photography, sunset cruising, and of course, ziplining. This is Costa Rica, after all.

To see and do as much as possible in a short period of time, look for full-day tours that include a variety of activities. For example, the popular 10 in 1 Tour! Zip Lines, Rappels, Tarzan Swing, Waterfalls & More covers six fun-filled hours, most of which is spent exploring the canopy and cascades at ADR Adventure Park. The tour also includes transportation, snacks, and a lunch that many previous travelers sum up as "delicious."

How many days in Quepos is enough?

For most people, 2–3 days in Quepos is plenty. The town itself is very small—you can literally walk from one end to the other in 20 minutes. The main attraction in this Costa Rican canton is nearby Manuel Antonio National Park, which at around 8 square miles (21 square kilometers), can also be easily explored in one day. That said, if you are determined to see every bird on your bucket list while you’re in town, you may need to visit the park more than once. Of course, if you also want to try whitewater rafting or other activities in the area, it’s worth tacking on another day or two.
