Amazing experience, the boat ride itself was an adventure (just make sure your gear is protected as a wave soaked us head to toe lol).
Jose was an awesome guide. Absolutely unbeliveable how many animals he spotted and how great the pictures he helped us take were. Great food, amazing wildlife and nature. Definitely worth it, at least for me.

Incredible adventure!
This was a beautiful and unique experience. The waterfalls and scenery were breathtaking and truly remote-- there were no other people there at all. Our guide, Allan was incredible. He has a ton of knowledge from growing up in the area. He was such a calm, kind person. He kept us feeling safe despite having no experience canyoning or rapelling!

Excellent tour to Cano Island. Good boat ride, excellent guide and a legit operator. While we didn’t see use them for other tours they also had housing and tours to Corcovado which looked well attended, clean and also excellent. Thank you to the Pacheco family for an excellent time in the Osa Peninsula

Amazing trip!
Ask for HARVEY! He is hands down the best guide out there. 27 years of experience. Ecologist and forester by training, safety conscious, generous with his time and knowledge. We saw SO much re: animals, plants, insects, birds, while at the same time hearing about Costa Rica’s conservation program. Wonderful experience.

An excellent tour showcasing the nightlife of Drake Bay
This is a great way to spend an evening in Drake Bay. Communication with Tracie beforehand was excellent so we were fully prepared with what to expect, where to meet and what clothing to bring, but then we were informed that due to a knee injury Tracie wouldn't be able to lead the tour. However we needn't have worried as her partner Gianfranco is an established expert who proved to be an enthusiastic and highly knowledgeable guide.
The tour lasted almost three hours at a relaxed pace over footpaths including some climbs and descents, with the time flying by as Gianfranco found for us and gave interesting information about a wide range of wildlife, from skunks and a sloth to frogs, toads, bats, scorpions, spiders and much more. The day after the tour we even received a detailed list of the species we'd seen together with additional interesting information about them.
This tour is slightly more expensive than some others but the level of service and expertise we experienced, together with numbers being limited to a small group, made the small extra cost very worthwhile. If you're staying in Drake Bay and have any interest in nature and wildlife we'd highly recommend joining this excellent tour.

Maria is a 5* guide! She did a brilliant job with our group, showing us spider monkeys, a sloth, a caiman, an owl, a coati and ended the day with a tapir eating! Maria was really friendly and happily answered all of our questions about the animals we were looking at. I’d highly recommend getting a tour and asking for Maria! She also sent us great photos that she’d taken through her scope!

The boat ride is about 50 minutes, wear comfortable shoes and drink tons of water the humidity is high and you will get sunburned. A great experience to see nature as its meant to be and, a big thank you to Maria our guide she was knowledgeable and informative. I Highly recommend this tour

Great Tour!
Me and my partner had a great time on this tour! Our tour guide, Yen, was so friendly and knowledgeable about the local flora and fauna. On top of that, he made sure to check in with everyone in his group (8 of us, which is a larger group for them) regularly to make sure that we were doing alright. He also kept a steady pace throughout the hike, so while it was definitely difficult at times, as long as you’re reasonably fit you shouldn’t have too much trouble sticking with your group.
Most of the hike was in the shade so that helped in keeping the difficulty manageable. Along with that there were three longer breaks spaced out during the hike. First was visiting Alfredo’s house, a man that’s been living in the jungle for the last 40 years. Second was eating the prepared lunch (which was delicious and sat nicely in our stomachs during the rest of the physical activity of the hike). And last was stopping at the waterfall near the end of the hike for a swim.
Things to prepare for if you plan to take this tour:
- a good portion of the trail was muddy so don’t wear anything you care about getting dirty
- they recommend you bring 2-3 liters of water (two was the right amount for me as a relatively small woman). Single use plastic is allowed but it would probably be more convenient to bring a larger reusable bottle
- there are some water crossings so it’s a good idea to bring some sort of water shoe for those since they’re pretty rocky
- if you plan to swim in the waterfall near the end of the hike, there is no real private area to change into or out of your swimsuit. Though you can kind of step to the side if you’d like. If that’s an issue, you should wear a swimsuit that you’re comfortable walking a lot in
Also while they say that you shouldn’t expect to see animals on this tour due to how thick the primary jungle is, our group saw a couple groups of monkeys, some lizards, and some fun bugs!
Overall it was a great experience and I would do it again!
