What are people saying about Puntarenas

Excellent excursion beats the Cruise ship prices end up at the same spot.
It was difficult to find the location. We walked off our Cruise port to the address but their was no signage that identified the name. Eventually a motorcycle drove up and waved to us. He opened the large metal gate and we asked if this was the place for the tour and he said yes. The Tour was on a fast boat with about 20 people signed up. We did snorkeling by a small island, water was not that clear since it was early November. On turtle island we had lunch went in the water relaxed on the lounge chairs and saw wild pigs. The individuals on the tour from the Princess Cruise where on turtle island and we spoke to some of them and they said their boat went really slow. The boat ride back was bumpy, we did see Alligators in the water close to the dock where we exited the boat.

Scorpions, Vipers and Frogs! OH MY!
This tour was a true highlight of what was an incredible trip to Costa Rica. Oscar's enthusiasm about the cloud forest was infectious. He has a remarkably keen eye for spotting expertly camouflaged wildlife in the dark. Throughout the tour, he shared a wealth of knowledge about the cloud forest and its inhabitants. This tour was a wild sensory experience. Among other animals, we saw tree frogs, pit vipers, a tarantula, a salamander, a giant grasshopper and scorpions. Sturdy footwear is a must.

Tour was so much more...
Tour was so much more than expected for the money. Our tour guide was Alex, the bus driver was Ricardo. Alex was a great guide who was very knowledgeable about the area. Sorry we only got to see 1 croc but lunch was very tasty. They tried very hard to show us whatever animals that appeared on the roadside. Great Tour!!

Snorkeling, Swimming, Wildlife Sightings
I booked this tour as a Shore Excursion as our cruise-line did not offer tours of interest to me. The tour guide contacted me a day earlier providing details/information regarding the tour and meeting points which was convenient. I arranged the pick up location outside the cruise pier. Once we got to our meetup point we got a message that our taxi was arriving, which took us to Coco’s Tours Restaurant. There were variety of drinks to purchase and restroom facilities if needed. We got into a large speed boat and went to spot bottle neck dolphins. After seeing some dolphins we went to a nearby island and spotted some spider monkeys. After that we went to a small island area and snorkeled for about half hour. After that we went to Turtle Island that has a small beach area. There were beach chairs with umbrellas for rent, a bar to buy drinks, souvenir shop etc. Upon arrival around 1100am, we were offered some fruit and drinks, juices, cold water (free) and later around 1::00 pm had nice lunch, choices of either fish or chicken. I purchased a few local drinks at the bar. Highly recommend local bar for alcoholic drinks. At the island we saw some deers and wild boars. We left around 2:30pm and arrived back to Cocos Restaurant at 3:30pm. We were welcomed and offered refreshing cold drinks and then driven back to cruise pier/ original meet up point. I enjoyed this tour very much.
