This walking tour takes you on a journey through the lanes of this 100-acre open-air museum to visit several of its historical buildings. They all have one thing in common: they’re believed to be haunted! This tour takes place in a delightful setting: St Fagans National Museum of History. The museum features restored buildings that were rescued from all over Wales and reopened here to show how Welsh people lived, worked and worshipped throughout the centuries. It was the first museum of its type in Britain, and is Wales’s top heritage attraction. Along the way, you’ll hear about each building’s history and the ghostly tales that have been shared about it over the years, right up until today. No one knows why this spot is tied to so many ghost stories. It might be due to the location’s previous use as farmland, and home to an ancient castle. Once the site of Wales’s largest ever battle in 1648, perhaps these rebuilt structures brought with them the spirits of their former occupants?

Take a self-guided GPS walk with local resident Suzie Rees and find out more about the fascinating history of the town surrounding the famous castle. You'll visit the oldest building in Caerphilly, take a walk through glorious parkland and, if you feel like it, you can also stop to feed the geese and ducks who are always happy to say hello. The final leg of your tour takes you in full view of the largest castle in Wales while telling you some of the stories and legends connected with it. The final stop takes you right up to the main entrance to the castle and the tour finishes with a story about the most remarkable Welshman in Victorian Britain.
