The itinerary is a great mix of castle, train, countryside and small town. I would just do it with another provider. The staff transportation provided was NOT comfortable. The vehicle was a sort of minivan-wants-to-be-a-bus thing. It was full, claustrophobic and cramped. The train was worse. It was presented that having the caboose for our group was a treat. It was awful. We were crammed in on benches facing the middle of the car. Im small and even I had to turn my shoulders little sideways to fit in. With the window sill dabbing into my back. You were trying to look out the windows opposite around those people's heads. No way to take pictures. It would have been a lovely train ride in one of the regular cars. I have taken alot of Viator tours over many years. This tour guide was pleasant but gave about half as much information as usual.

We're sorry, however, that the experience didn't meet your expectations in terms of comfort. Our tours are operated in small groups, although we appreciate that a full vehicle can feel less spacious than you may have liked or expected.
The Brecon Mountain Railway carriage is a heritage railway experience, and the carriage allocation can vary depending on the railway's operational arrangements on the day. We understand that the seating arrangement in the carriage provided wasn't to your preference, particularly when taking photographs, and we're sorry you found this uncomfortable.

Chris our guide was wonderful. Full of information and funny. The tour was nice and informative. Only gripe was that the bus was very small/tight for my husband who is 6’2”. Other than that, this was a fantastic day exploring Wales.

This was a wonderful tour. We learned a lot about Welsh history and had a chance to admire nature in the National Park. Our guide Chris was very knowledgable and informative. We would highly recommend this tour to everybody.

Very nice tour of the Cardiff area, enjoyed Caerphilly most of all. Castle Coch was surrounded by scaffolding and we were told we’d get to see a fourth castle to make up for it, but that didn’t happen. Still, a lovely day and a great chance to see areas around Cardiff. Our tour guide was informative, and the time spent at each location was good.

You’re absolutely right that Castell Coch is currently undergoing major renovations, which has unfortunately resulted in scaffolding around the exterior. This essential conservation work is being carried out by Cadw to protect the structure for generations to come, and while it does affect the view from the outside, we hope the visit still provided some insight into its unique charm and history.
I also wanted to gently clarify that, in light of the scaffolding at Castell Coch, vehicle tracking shows that we did indeed include a visit to a fourth location – Cyfarthfa Castle and Museum – as an additional stop to ensure you still received a full and enriching Roam Wales tour experience.

Had a fantastic day out with Jim - he was very knowledgeable and fun to talk to about local customs and Wales today. The allotted times per stop (we did Castell Coch, Caerphilly, and Brecon Beacon visitor center public field) were well planned and sufficient to explore. Beautiful drive and really magical sights. Highly recommend and will definitely consider these guys for a future tour of Wales!
