Your hotel will be somewhere between the towns of Vik and Hofn, and you will have plenty of time to explore the area! The second-day stops include: Jokulsarlon, Diamond Beach, Amphibian Boat Tour, Eldhraun Lava Fields, The Bridge of the Volcanoes, and Fjadrargljufur River Canyon to complete our view of Icelandic nature. If time permits, we will explore more of Vik on our return drive home. The minimum age for participants is eight years. WORTH IT

We had an awesome time on our ice cave tour! We also had to do a little glacier hike to get there so it was a fun two for one. Our guide was very knowledgeable, fun, and focused on our safety. He has worked on a number of films made in Iceland and had so many interesting fun facts and stories to tell. It was by far a highlight of our trip

Was a good tour as it did...

Was a good tour as it did what was advertised. After learning the history and environmental concerns from local park rangers and locals, however, I am a bit torn given my environmental background. Was told that the glaciers have been melting faster than ever before and obviously bringing considerable amounts of people (100s a day) onto the glacier increases temperature along with guides picking at the ice that is 1000’s of years old. The glacier is very pretty even from the farther viewing points and well worth it. Thought these comments would provide some items for consideration as they would have changed my own booking preferences.

Our guide brought the environment to life with a deep understanding of glacial formation, answering every question with clarity and a touch of well-timed humor that made the experience even more engaging. The ice caves, while smaller in scale than some might imagine, are remarkable in their own right—intricate, ever-changing formations shaped by the forces of nature. Approaching the visit with realistic expectations is key; these are not vast, cathedral-like caverns, but rather intimate and striking natural features. With that perspective, the experience is deeply rewarding and well worth it.
