Chichen Itza private tour
We had a private tour with Josh. He was very knowledgeable and made us feel comfortable and welcome right off the bat. He was good with both of our kids and our 8 year old daughter loved him. Also our tour guide at Chichen Itza, Ebert was great as well. Swimming in the cenote was refreshing and the lunch afterwards, was the best of our entire trip to Mexico! Definitely recommend for your friends and family.

TLDR: cenote is shaded,...
TLDR: cenote is shaded, do not use sunscreen. The snack is not a full lunch. Bring a small amount of cash for tips and donations to the Mayan community.
We were picked up directly from our hotel, which was an unexpected perk. We were driven to where the buggies are kept, which has a couple of bathrooms (highly recommend using as it’s the last running water toilet on the trip). They provided face/nose coverings and goggles as the road is very dusty. We then drove 2 person buggies down a paved trail that eventually turned to dirt. The buggy driving was a lot of fun, but there are serious potholes and rocks to watch for. The buggy we had was a Polaris rzr, so operation is straightforward, and it handled the potholes well. The Mayan village we went to is technically not a legal settlement, so there is electricity directly from the high power lines and no running water. There is a toilet available there where you pour water from a bucket to flush it.
The empanada snack was delicious, but it’s not a lot of food. This was fine for us because it was only 9:30a and we had already had breakfast before leaving the hotel. We then had a chance to donate 100 pesos ($6us) to the Mayan village folks. There is private bathroom to change into swimsuits if needed at the lunch location.
The cenote water is slightly cool, about 74F the guide said. There’s a dock style spot to dive from, and a small cave to go to on the other side where you can also dive from.

I was nervous because of the reviews but this was a really good experience! The reviews are right when they say they try to upsell you on a lot of things, but you can just politely decline and they leave you alone. I think you get a lot of value out of what you pay. My friend and I had a great time!

Sailing, Sunshine, and Snorkeling.
Wolf, Captain Martin, and the rest of the crew made for a wonderful day out in the ocean. We sailed out to the coral reef and snorkeled for about 40 minutes. The winds were super strong so this was the perfect about of time. After that we docked the boat in calm water where we could paddle board and lay out on a water mat. Overall, it was a perfect day.

Mary was an excellent guide and shared lots of great information. There was time to roam around the ruins after she covered history, about 30-40 minutes at the cenote, and then time with Maya descendants to taste hibiscus tea, corn tortillas, and then some tequila on our way out. The bus was comfortable, and there was cold water and a small snack provided.
The cenote area has changing rooms and showers, and I’d recommend bringing some pesos for the ladies doing the demonstrations.

It’s a long day but totally worth it. It’s usually very hot so bring plenty of water and snacks. We also brought an umbrella to have some refuge from the sun. Our guide was very kind, funny and informational. Our favorite stop was lunch to help support the locals business. The food was amazing.

Half day of fun
Fernando was a great guide, multi-lingual, interactive, entertaining and took multiple pictures along the way to capture this memorable experience for his guests. The ride was fun and we especially enjoyed our visit to the Cenote where we learned about its history and jumped into the water and swam. Everyone had a wonderful experience 😎, well done!!

Friendly crew and a very pleasant, well-organized sail. Even though it was rainy when we boarded, which forced a slight delay in our sailing, the crew made sure we made the most of the experience. The food was good, music pleasant, and the drinks well made. There also seemed to be plenty of room for everyone to spread out. Had a great time!

Enormous Fun Exploring an Underground River
This was such an exciting trip! It was our first main tour of a few we did in our 9 day holiday at Playa Del Carmen, Mexico, and it certainly set the bar high. First we went out of a boat with our guides and a group of about 15 others to go snorkelling on the second biggest reef in the world! We were given a floatation jacket, snorkel and mask, and flippers, and then once out at sea (maybe a 10 minute boat ride) we jumped off the edge of the boat to explore the beautiful under sea world of the reef and some amazing sea creatures. We saw plenty of fish, a turtle, a few rays and even a barracuda! There was a fair bit of swimming required, although the guide who lead us did have a life ring on a rope, if needed. We swam for about 1 hour and 20 minutes, and to be fair, I was exhausted by the end, being a confident but less than fit swimmer. We were never that far from the boat, but certainly quite a way out to sea, so no sloping off to the beach for a rest. Bear this in mind if you are not the most confident swimmer - let them know before the swimming begins! I have snorkelled before but not for a couple of decades. My wildlife loving partner had never snorkelled before and he absolutely loved this experience, as I had hoped he would! We then got back on the boat via a ladder and returned to the harbour at Puerto Morelos, just had time for a quick coffee and slice of cake to recharge my energy levels (these were included in the price), ready for our next adventure at Rio Secreto underground river and nature reserve. For me, this was the most exciting part of the day. We donned wet suits and hard hats with a head lamp on, and water shoes (take your own if you have them) and our wonderful guide, Diago, took us first to meet a shaman for a blessing for our journey, and then we went down into he cave complex amongst the most incredible stalactites and stalacmites, wading through the waters of the underground cave. If you have swum in a cenote, which we did in a subsequent trip, this is different as you have to walk in a line along the river, in and out of small lakes and streams and tunnels underground, lit only by head torches - it was incredibly atmospheric! Diago made it really fun and also paid attention to our safety, and we had 2 other guides with us - a photographer and a second guide to make sure we were all ok. There were some tight spaces to navigate, rocks to climb over, and lots of steps up and down under the water, which Diago lit with his torch under the water so it was easier to find my footing. He is clearly really passionate about caving, and his joy was infectious - rarely have I had so much fun, it was like being a child all over again! At one point we all turned our torches off and were in absolute pitch blackness for a few seconds - truly breathtaking! Honestly, if you want to have an adventure, give this trip a try, but be aware that you need to be relatively able bodied to really enjoy the underground river as once you're in, you need to keep going through the cave system with your group. That said it was enormous fun and I wouldn't have missed it for the world. Thank you Diago for making it such a special experience.

Book it!
This was a great experience! The crew members provided excellent customer service! My cousin’s skirt blew into the water and one of the crew members jumped in and retrieved it for her….They also provided beverages and prepared a good lunch that was very fresh and well made. Although the weather was choppy, they sailed us to a beautiful cove area that allowed us to swim and party with our own music using their bluetooth system. Everything was well kept and clean. I definitely recommend this team and private yacht!
