This is the best excursion I have ever taken. The crew were prompt on time picking me up from the hotel of my choosing. We had an overnight stay in Cozumel and decided to take a ferry to playa for an excursion. Communication was great prior to the excursion and I had a lot of questions to ensure pick-up was known as well as my personal body size was sufficient for one of the vehicles.
Now onto the excursion itself. Carlos and Abraham were hilarious. They were amazing and took their time explaining all rules. They also joked around with us. The ATV buggy's were in great condition, and drove very fast. We brought our own goggles and neck gaitors however they do include some to borrow for the tour. The trip started out with a nice thirty minute dusty ride through the jungle to a cenote. The cenote was nice and refreshing given the warm temperatures. There was a rock some fit young men were able to climb up and jump off of. The water is pretty deep throughout most of the cenote so I suggest being a strong swimmer. I believe they offered a life jacket if needed but our tour had 12 folks in it and we were all comfortable swimmers it seemed. We then road back through the jungle another 30 minutes into a small village where we had lunch at a woman's house. The empanadas were amazing. There are a lot of wild but friendly dogs in the area. Just a note since I know some folks are afraid or hesitant of dogs. Carlos loves bread and suggested me and my buddy try the bread from a local vendor who was selling bread from his back seat. It was so good. We then had an opportunity to buy food bags for local families. The bags are $5 USD a piece. I brought 200 pesos to buy 2 bags. There was no pressure to do this but our entire tour group contributed in some capacity. We read this fact In another review so I'm leaving it as well for anyone who stumbles across my review.
Lastly we drove the last 30 minutes back to base. Where we also had pesos to tip the tour guides.
The tour was filled with adventure, culture, nature and culture. This was a tour off the beaten path and that was a desire for me and my friend. We wanted to do something away from a beach, away from Cozumel, and away from the city of Playa. This was perfect. I was very appreciative for a chance to find out about the village, and to experience the warmth those people showed us. There was 3 separate legs of driving which does give any adult groups opportunities to swap drivers. I highly recommend this tour and again Carlos and Abraham were amazing and hilarious. Sorry about the tire lol. I want to know why I was tasked with caring precious cargo.

This is a great excursion! We've done it both times we visited Playa del Carmen. The buggies really get moving through the jungle paths. The cave cenote is beautiful and refreshing. Meeting the beautiful people in the Mayan village is both heart warming and sad. We were so happy to provide them with some necessities and candy for the children. They were extremely appreciative. We also throughly enjoyed the empanadas made by several of the women in the village. Don't miss this experience.

Our whole family had a great time. The snack in the village was delicious. The cenote was beautiful. Getting to the cenote required a short walk that was rocky. But the guides helped those in our party who needed it.

Great experience! Would highly recommend. Driving the buggy was fun and also got a taste of true Mexican life.

Super friendly, cared about riders, Abraham went out of his way helping me a 74 year old out of shape guy

Soo fun! Guided are great and the cenote was stunningly beautiful. Check it out! The Mayan village visit was really impactful.

Absolutely awesome time, well timed, lots of fun, can’t recommend it enough. Remember to bring your own goggles for the cenote. Matteo and Abraham are awesome guides.

TLDR: cenote is shaded, do not use sunscreen. The snack is not a full lunch. Bring a small amount of cash for tips and donations to the Mayan community.
We were picked up directly from our hotel, which was an unexpected perk. We were driven to where the buggies are kept, which has a couple of bathrooms (highly recommend using as it’s the last running water toilet on the trip). They provided face/nose coverings and goggles as the road is very dusty. We then drove 2 person buggies down a paved trail that eventually turned to dirt. The buggy driving was a lot of fun, but there are serious potholes and rocks to watch for. The buggy we had was a Polaris rzr, so operation is straightforward, and it handled the potholes well. The Mayan village we went to is technically not a legal settlement, so there is electricity directly from the high power lines and no running water. There is a toilet available there where you pour water from a bucket to flush it.
The empanada snack was delicious, but it’s not a lot of food. This was fine for us because it was only 9:30a and we had already had breakfast before leaving the hotel. We then had a chance to donate 100 pesos ($6us) to the Mayan village folks. There is private bathroom to change into swimsuits if needed at the lunch location.
The cenote water is slightly cool, about 74F the guide said. There’s a dock style spot to dive from, and a small cave to go to on the other side where you can also dive from.

Fun time! Dune buggy ride was the best...they give a good safety brief and then u pick out your goggles and bandana.....Both guides were fun and hilarious.....in the village the empanadas were delicious! The cenote was cool and refreshing but for me and my boyfriend the dune buggy ride was awesome

Ranks as one of my top tours in Mexico! Our guides, Jose and Abraham were excellent! As a couple of senior women, we needed a hand navigating the rugged path to and from the Cenote, and they and their team took great care of us! Driving the jeeps through the jungle was a blast! The underground cenote was a hidden gem, and our group was the only one there. Visiting the Mayan village was special. Maria's empanadas were delicious! Bring extra pesos to buy food and candy at the village market. Don't miss this tour!

This was fabulous!! So much fun!! The guides treated us like family! Fun ride, beautiful cenote, great food and culture.

One of the best if not the best excursions ive been on . We have done alot of different excursions in cancun. This one was absolutely amazing. The staff and people you meet are so kind caring and friendly. They always stopped to check to make sure my 5 year old was ok. Also its totaly in the jungle and the small village you go to is very cool. I would definitely recommend this excursions to anyone. My 5 year old absolutely loved it

Excellent jungle adventure with adrenaline filled Razor buggy tour, stop at Mayan village for a yummy snack and then to the beautiful small & private cenote. The guides were fabulous & everything was very well run.

Excellent experience - thoroughly recommend the tour. Great fun and incredible scenery through the forest. Cenote was beautiful .
Lydia_N, Dec 2025
So much fun! Great for kids and adults of all ages. The tour guides were great and everyone had a blast. The cenote was beautiful and a great spot to rinse off some of the mud.
Suzanne_W, Dec 2025
This was such a fun way to explore & experience Playa del Carmen, very authentic as well. While the transport did take a little time, it was to accommodate participants' locations, & actually went by pretty fast. The drivers were friendly & answered all questions. I was so thankful to NOT drive in the chaotic traffic!
We arrived to the location that seemed a bit on the outside of the city. Our guides, Abraham & Carlos, met us and were entertaining & helpful the whole time. You sign a waiver basically accepting fault for anything that happens to you or the Buggy. When 1 buggy fell behind, they noticed & found them. A couple Buggys had trouble, but the guides found a way to keep them included.
The mud puddles were very big from the rain. We got soaked! They give you a garbage bag for your items, recommended! Wear something fast drying. I wore pants, everyone else wore shorts... I recommend shorts. Use eco safe sunscreen & apply lightly before hitting the trail bc they are sensitive to what goes into the cenote. There are some bugs you may notice at/after the cenote.
We parked & hiked the narrow trail filled with rocks & tree roots. The end, down to the cenote is kind of steep. It is in the jungle & is shaded. It is the local's & does not have a name, we were told. The water is tepid, not cold & not warm. You can climb the rocks & jump in. We spent about 45 min there.
Then we left for the Mayan Village & to the House of Margarita for empanadas and some kind of juice. It was light, like a snack. We took reviewer's advice & brought candy for the kids. That was super fun!! There were about 40-50 kids, teens to babies. Yell out "Quieres dulce?"
We rode back, delayed from leaving from 1 person's mishap. Eventually we got on the shuttle & got to our stop. They did not drop off in the reverse order as pick up.
This was so fun & we'd do it again!

What an experience. Nature, culture and adventure all in one. We had a great time and they guides were fantastic
Brian_K, Dec 2025
This jungle buggy/ATV tour was an unforgettable experience and felt truly authentic, not touristy at all. We rode ATVs deep through the jungle (be prepared to get muddy) to a Mayan village, where we stopped at Margarita’s house and were warmly welcomed by local kids. After that, we rode back through the jungle to a beautiful cenote, where we got to swim in refreshing freshwater (water shoes recommended). Our guide was amazing: knowledgeable, friendly, and very respectful, but also gave us the freedom to enjoy the experience at our own pace. If you’re looking for something adventurous, cultural, and off the beaten path, this tour is absolutely worth it.

We had so much fun!! We traveled with my 6 year old daughter and my husband and his mom. We all laughed and had the best time on the atv! The cenote was perfect way to rinse off all the mud that got splashed from purposely hitting all the puddles. Great family memories! Thank you!!

This was my 1st time going to Mexico and playa del Carmen, and always wanted ride in a buggy so this was perfect for me! The overall experience was amazing from the village to the denote. The village was amazing and the food margarita made was delicious. Bring cash/pesos with you. The communication with the staff was amazing, I got a little lost and they helped me out in getting to the meeting point. Abraham and Carlos were amazing tour guides! Highly recommend :) thank you guys!

Fantastic tour guides. Great experience. Felt good as a group helping out 7 families in the village we went to. The cenote we swam in was out in the bush but we had it to ourselves as a group . Very peaceful. A lot of fun on the side by sides, ripping on the trails. awesome time. Our tour guides were very informative and a lot of fun.
Aaron_H, Dec 2025
This tour was a lot of fun! The buggy’s are great, go fast. Both our kids loved it as did we. The Centote was so beautiful and refreshing. Our guides were so nice and accommodating! We highly recommend this tour to anyone.
Luke_A, Dec 2025
Very adventurous. The ride is bumpy and dirty and a simply excellent experience. My kids loved the experience. The cenote is amazing. Jump from rocks into the cavern. I could stay all day. The village experience in Playa del carmen included empanadas made by a village lady. They were so tasty even my extremely picky child would eat them. If you want an authentic feel and adventure, book it.
Paul_S, Nov 2025
Fantastic experience. My family and I had an amazing experience. The guides were great we got experience local culture and support families in need. If you want the full experience plan to get muddy if there has been some rain but such a blast. Highly recommend
Caitlin_C, Nov 2025
Fun trip! Guides were awesome, knowledgeable and family friendly. It was a fun ride and a beautiful cenote!
Michael_M, Nov 2025
That the experience was on time despite the need to switch out a buggy and assist an injured tourist (not part of our tour group).
Carlos and Abraham were incredible guides very friendly and down to earth people!!!! Our transportation to and from the hotel was top notch and visiting the Mayan village and being welcomed by the children and people living there was a definite highlight. As was a fantastic and relaxing swim in a beautiful cenote.
Maureen_M, Nov 2025
W ready for a bumpy muddy exhilarating ride through yucatan terrain. Group was nice and small so it made the day more enjoyable. The guides Carlos and Alexandra made the tour so much more entertaining and were so knowledgeable about the history of their home. We visited a mayan village and they were all so inviting, it gave us an insight into daily life in the area. And the Cenote we swam in nestled deep in the forest, amazing.
Paul_B, Nov 2025
The tour itself was great. The pick up was less than acceptable. We were the first pick up and it took 22 hours to get to the start of the tour. Many bumps many terms that made the trip very uncomfortable. We caught a spacetaxi back and did not take the shutttle.
Jenifer_Z, Oct 2025
We went with my mom and I have three boys, age 4, 7 and 11. One note, depending on how far your hotel is your trip to the start point, maybe up to 2 hours long. We were the furthest of our trip and it was 1.5 hours. The bus was very nice. And all three of my kids didn't really have a problem with the trip getting there. I was glad that the tour guides were very diligent. Because I thought we were getting picked up at our hotel at 9:00 a.m. but we actually got picked up at 7:00. They made sure I knew the right time the day before. But if you book just know you have to read through the full email that they the day before to know the time they will pick you up at your hotel. The drive through the jungle was crazy fun in. I'm not a daredevil and we had to go pretty fast but the buggies have great shocks and it was a fairly smooth ride for how bumpy the road was. Highly recommend the Mayan village tour. It was very interesting to learn about the foundation School and how the community grew there. The cenote swim was really fun. And our guides were awesome!

It was amazing!! The rain while riding through the jungle made it even more memorable. Amazing tour guides, great food, wonderful experience! Will definitely do it again on our next visit.
