Colon City Tour - Excellent!

My group took the Colon City tour with driver Jose and guide Roderick. Roderick is a proudly born and raised Colon citizen, and aside from showing us the sights of the city, included the rich history of the area. Jose and Roderick were both fun and interesting to talk to. If you want to experience a different piece of Panama, be sure to take this tour!

We would definitely do...

We would definitely do this tour again…and with friends. The guide was wonderful, he quietly helped someone up from the floor from another boat (he just seemed like a caring, overall down to Earth person). We enjoyed seeing dolphins, the sloths, the starfish, and the tropical fish while snorkeling. We’re not quite sure how they fit it all in, but it was quite the day long adventure. Highly recommended!

On-time pickup. Ended up...

On-time pickup. Ended up being private tour since my husand and I were the only ones. Lake Gatun boat ride was so nice- crazy to see such large ships up close headed to the locks. Pulling up to the mangroves was so cool- saw howler, capucin and tamarin monkeys. Even saw a crocodile- yikes! Then headed to Panama canal to watch the Imax movie (very informative) and actually see a couple of ships pass the Mira Flores locks. Our guide was very informative. (museum was closed for renovation)

Demetrio, our tour guide...

Demetrio, our tour guide and driver, was an exceptional experience. From canoeing to hiking, visiting the waterfall, and exploring the village, it was a wonderful adventure. However, be warned that the hike is quite challenging for those who are not physically active or even the elderly. Despite this, I highly recommend booking this tour with family, friends, or anyone who enjoys outdoor activities.

Good overview of the canal and Casco with Dimos

Good overview of the canal and Casco with Dimos. After the canal visit and IMAX, most of the time was spent in the van (with A/C) driving over the Bridge of the Americas, Amador Causeway, and then around Casco Viejo with a few stops for souvenirs and snacks. Especially if staying in Casco, it’s a good way to start a visit to learn the canal history and function and then get a feel for the area.

Best layover ever!

Pick up and drop off from the airport was easy! Our guide spoke perfect English and Spanish and was very knowledgable about the history, culture and sites of Panama. He was willing to tailor our experience for our family. We even found a sloth! I really felt like we got to visit Panama City!

Definitely Go. Guide Eduardo is fantastic!

It was great. Our guide, Eduardo, was excellent. Spoke fluent English and Spanish and gave info in both. Knew about history and areas, answered all questions, made us feel safe, was patient, gave tips on other things to do and places to go and how to get there without being a salesman. Just helpful. Super nice young man. Lots of smiles and laughs while seeing and learning about Panama. On request they also picked us up from Playa Bonita at our resort. Only a little bit extra and did not ask for anything more. Our driver, whose name I am sorry to say I forgot, was amazing. Quiet and focussed on the road which was great cuz the roads are super busy with everyone going every which way. He did it expertly and fast. I would highly recommend booking with them. Also, if you want to be dropped off at a spot along the way and go from there on your own - that’s ok too. Some people on the bus did that. Ooh - DO see the movie at Mileflores lock. Perfect half day adventure

Our tour with Dennis was wonderful. He took us to the old old town San Felipe first. He took us through the museum there. And then we explored a bit on our own including climbing up the tower. Dennis deftly navigated traffic and timed our visit to the MiraFlora locks in time for the film and to see a ship pass through. You do have to climb some stairs to get on the bleachers to see the locks. And squeeze in if it is a busy time. After we made our way to the Amador causeway. Dennis is self-taught in English and it's just amazing how well he speaks it. We thoroughly enjoyed our conversation and our day with Dennis. We highly recommend his company.
